Since yesterday I am loosing 3g connectivity when my tab lock it self, when I unlock it it says insert SIM. Only way to get it working is to eject the sim and reinserting it, not even rebooting helps. Anyone knows what could be the problem. I have the v, model.

Sounds like a problem with either the SIM card, or the SIM slot.
Have you tried with a different SIM?

Can any one tell me why my TAB will not recogize my valid, working SIM card from my other phone? Perhaps some setting on the TAB has to be changed?
Thanks for any info.
dude
dude i dont know. i tried the same thing. i have tmobile usa and the Galaxy Tab, along with my HTC HD2. tried the swap, no dice. saw my phone number, but would not txt, call, or receive calls. no data either.
My TAB doesn't even recognize when that the SIM is plugged in .
It keeps saying: "Please insert a SIM card". "Emergecy Calls Only".
This is going to sound really dumb but try shoving the SIM card in further. With certain brands of SIM you can get a "click" without the SIM being correctly seated in the tab. The tab will reboot if you insert a sim properly while it is on.
Problem solved! I thought that it was unlocked, but it wasn't. Followed Rothammer advise on unlocking and that worked like a charm.

I have the same problem with my SIM not being recognized. I have an AT&T Tab; unlocked [verified network is unlocked]; flashed with Rotohammer's most recent JME-Full; Baseband is I9000UGJK3; IMEI is OK; and Mobile Network is HSDPA. Interestingly, the signal strenth shows full bars, but does not recognize SIM and does not allow me to enter the Mobile Networks [grayed out] to change anything. I've tried every fix from every thread I can read here. Any thoughts anyone to get this to use voice and data?
Flash the Bell i900 modem for at&t tabs.
Hi there ,
I just bought a motorola xoom 3g and have the following problem with it:

The sim card is strictly for 4g, look at the place holder they had in it before you put your sim in. It says "Replace with SIM only after 4g upgrade". If i were you, I would immediately take that sim card out. In order to get 3g on your xoom just take it into Verizon, they just do it automatically. I know this is correct because I am using 3g now.

i dont think that's the problem.. i bought it in Holland (where i life). we dont have a 4g network yet. im sure it's a 3g model. And the shop gave me that SIM card. i already tried a SIM card im using in my galaxy s but that didnt work either....
the APN settings are fine, i checked and double checked it. It shows some bars when i entered the pincode but i dont see any 3g/E/G/H icon next to the signal bars....
Did you reboot after putting the SIM in? If you take it out while it's on and put it back in again it doesn't work till a reboot.
I apologize, I guess I can't really speak for outside the US. Did yours not have a placeholder at all for the Sim slot?

Yes i reboot it, more then i can count.
On the top of the device i can put the sim in on a placeholder idd

Hello sqx,
I have the same problem with my vodafone sim.
When i put a simcard from another provider in my xoom works the internet fine.
Have you already solved the problem?
Greats Nick
Once it's up and running. Try going into airplane mode. Give it a minute then turn off airplane mode. Then fire up the browser and try to go to google. Attempt to refresh a couple times.
I've had this happen on my 3g connection and it does get annoying but only after it sits around dormant for a while.
it still doesn't work..
Any news?
Hi All,
Im still experiencing this same issue with on my NL Xoom 3g with Vodafone (kpn and tmobile work fine).

I brought S4 just another day and when I insert sim card the phone says "No sim Card" but I inserted it already!
Its micro sim i'm buying another sim card today and see if it works,
Will customer service fix this if the problem is in the phone ? If yes then is it covered by warranty ?
Any help? maybe its software problem

Definitely. Visit SSC.
BTW, use this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192886 from next time to ask anything related to S4.

And how exactly he should or anyone should know what's exactly your problem? Can be hardware or the simcard. This is up to you to find out.
First try a new simcard , and try to get one micro sim factory cut if you can, if still nothing means is hardware.
Did you put it in wrong?

GT I9505 doesn't detect LTE sim, works fine with 3g Sim
Hello all !
I own a 2.5 year old GT i9505 (LTE variant) which works completely fine with a 3g Sim but the "Sim Card not inserted" error appears as soon as a 4g Compatible Sim is inserted. Could this be a modem issue ?
I live in India (got the phone from Europe) and have been using 3g services without any hitch for the past 2 years. Vodafone recently launched 4G services here and my phone doesn't detect the new 4G Sim card .
My phone shows the LTE/WCDMA/GSM modes but doesn't detect the Sim card.
Tried with another Sim from the store that doesnt work either.

All ideas and solutions are appreciated.
It's possible that there is something wrong with the phone's sim card reader. You could replace the reader for not a lot of money and it's easy to do yourself.
Maybe your phone is unable to detect LTE Networks from Vodafone India because from what I research, India uses TDD-LTE. You could Google-d LTE bands that used in India and compare it with your phone's supported LTE bands.

Thanks for your reply.
I considered that option but a 3g sim works perfectly. Do you still think it would help ?

I guess I am just lucky my phone supports both.

Still no luck !
I don't know that much about sim card technology. Have you tried the LTE sim card in a very old phone to see if the old phone detects the sim?

I did infact it works with every phone except this one.
Leads me to conclude it is the sim reader or motherboard if no LTE SIM cards work. Doesn't seem like software.
Hi everyone, I rooted my girlfriend's .94 and sim-unlocked it using the CDMA Workshop method. Only issue is her signal keeps doing into no service and also displays No Sim Card.
Only way to fix is the enable airplane mode, remove sim card, put sim card back in, and disable airplane mode.
That works for a good while but service is lost again later on.
I tried putting tape on the sim card and it's helped but when she gets a case for her phone, its going to be harder to do.

I swapped sim card on my cell phone, i have n9005 (running 4.4.2 TouchWiz Rooted) and works on every network in my country,
the other sim card worked fine, i kept on swapping 2 sims because sometimes i had to use 3g on the other network.
Today it suddly stopped, now my both sim cards are not working.
I have restarted my phone, pulled out battery and also reinserted my sim card, no success.
Any solution?
EDIT: I fixed it, thanks
