Hello,
Can't get Locus and Tomtom working on my note 3
the Navigation programms are installed and are working fine, however it is not possible to get any access to the navigation maps
Already did the work around in this Topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2617921
(is this only working for media or also data)
Also changed the path, where the Navigation maps are stored, even stored the navigation maps in the main storage
it seems to me, that the Navigation programs are looking for the navigation maps a non excisting map, or can't acces that map.
Anybody an idea, Tia
Hi,
I had a similar problem after flashing the official 4.4.2 ROM from Samsung, and applying the same fix.
I just used Root Explorer to move the whole TomTom directory from the root of the External SD card to the root of the internal SD, (NOT phone memory) and then it all worked with no worries.
Hope this helps you out.

Hi wiebew
Apologies for not getting back sooner, I've been out most of the weekend.
Just fyi, I had this problem when I updated to the official Samsung 4.4.2 (N9005XXUENA6_N9005OXXENA5_XEH). I'm running rooted using Chainfires awesomely easy to use, CF Auto Root.
This is what I did, step by step.
1 - Using Root Explorer, I copied the tomtom directory from the root of the extsd card
2 - I then pasted the tomtom directory to the root of the internal sd card. So afterwards it was /storage/sdcard0/tomtom. I may have rebooted, but can't honestly remember now, sorry.
I didn't have to change any permissions or anything else, after this copy/paste procedure TomTom started to work again.
I've since updated to the latest official Samsung ROM (N9005XXUENB3_N9005OXXENB1_XEO) and TomTom is still working quite happily.
Hope this helps, if there is anything else I can do to help let me know.

Below is a post to a different forum site on the issue of TT6 returning with 'no maps found' error when they are on the SD card. All makes sense, but can anyone tell me what the impact would be of the solution given below.
Thanks

Also voices now found on SD Card with no issues.
************************************************** ****
TomTom 6 will quite happily install and run from the SD card, however when you actually try to use it you will get an error that no maps exist and you cannot select any of the voices, even though you know that everything is on the SD card where its supposed to be. The problem is that TomTom must have decided that no one uses a device with built in storage anymore, and seem to have hardwired the program to just look in the first storage device available for all its running data. In previous versions if this happened you could just tell it were to look for maps by editing the currentmap.dat file to point to the correct place. TT6 seems to ignore this and will continue looking for maps on the first storage device it finds, which in the case of the X5 is the built in storage. My solution may seem a bit drastic but for me it works and is a reasonable compromise, get rid of the built in storage. The cleanest way I can find for doing this is a registry edit, I used total commander to delete the following key:-
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\StorageManager\AutoLoad\ PSM
One softreset later and no more 30MB built-in storage drive (really only used mine for backups anyway and an SD card will do just as well).
I you decide that you need your internal storage back again then just add the information back again you can use the attached file to reconstruct the key again, total commander (Reeg Editor) won't do it automatically but there's not much to do by hand.
Once the built in storage was gone Tomtom 6 could find both maps and voices from the SD card.
This may work on other pda's as well although im not responsible for any issues that may arise
Well this makes perfect sence to me, the TT v6.00 to v6.01/6.02 seems to have introduced this new 'feature'. I can run TTv6.00 from any location and it finds the maps no matter where they are stored. TTv6.02 fails unless they are stored in the main PC memory. I am on an XDA Orbit and now need to work out a fix along the same lines as you - I dont understand how you can kill the internal storage with no impact?
Thanks, Jez

I got the No maps found error after upgrading to 6.02 after using 6.00.
I found that by moving my maps directory in to my My Documents folder on my storage card it corrected the issue and TT now sees my maps again.

I assume you're talking about the Microsoft .NET CF? If so, I have 2.0 installed.
Yeh, very odd as I am on 2.0 here too, I give up.....roll on v6.1
Thanks
The solution that worked for me, put the Map folder in the SD card directory direct, don't put it in the TOMTOM or the Navigator folders
I apologize as I tried to search but I suppose I'm not good at that either.
I am trying to point a podcast program to download to my external sd (microsd) card. I cannot figure out how to find the correct patch to tell the program. The stock file explorer says one thing and I downloaded Astro and it tells me another.
I can copy files to the card (I have the camera saving pics there).
What am I doing wrong that I can't figure the path to a created folder on my micro sd card?
Thanks for any help.
mnt/sdcard/extStorages/SdCard/
Thanks. Something is wrong then. I have tried with BeyondPod and Pocketcast to point them to download to the external sd card with no luck.
Anyone have any luck doing this or suggestions?
I agree.
There is something wrong with the way SD card is handled.
Titanium backup for instance only shows 440Mb capacity, Root explorer shows 1Gb and system settings sees it as 32Gb.
Weird!
Surely someone has tried to do what I am trying. Anyone?
Okay, I did a LOT of reading here and I THINK I know what is going on. (Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.)
Apparently, apps cannot write to the external card including aftermarket file explorers. There might be a fix here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1454178 but it requires root. I have never rooted anything so I am a bit scared to try.
I hope this may help someone else having a similar issue.

Yes, you won't be able to play DRM protected films (incl. those from the market) and probably Google Music's MP3 store won't work anymore, too. I'm sure there will be more of the like.
I rooted mine, corrected the SD card's permissions, I'm able to set the font size (which breaks TouchWiz, you'll need to have another launcher installed beforehand) and the more.
But: it's not easily revertable, you would have to flash the original firmware as far as I've read.

Hello,
I'm sure you are all aware of the very less storage space on the samsung galaxy s4!!
I was wondering if any of you tried apps like DirectoryBind or FolderMount to mount big folders (games, pics etc.) to the external sd card.
I myself tried both apps and none worked for me..
DirectoryBind use to work perfectly on my SG Note II, but on my i9500, it didn't work at all and I got reboots when trying to mount!
Then I purchased FolderMount, in hopes that it would work too.. But nope! That didn't work as well
I currently use a Class 10 Sandisk 64GB microSD card and I got it from amazon! And i've had no problems with it when I used it for my Note 2... I don't know why all of a sudden its not working.. Or is it the app itself.. Maybe they're not optimized for the galaxy s4 yet!!
Even for the folder mount app, I get the message, "Error: extSdCard permission - FolderMount couldn't fix the external sdcard permission and ownership. This could lead to read/write issues for apps that try to access your mounter internal sd card folders. Please try to remount all pairs after a while manually."
I have no idea what to do..
I don't know if this is a kernel issue...or a rom issue etc etc...
I was on WanamLite ROM v1.0 and I flashed the updated kernel that supported exfat cards!!
My card detects fine and I also have some out quite some stuff on it! Its only I cannot use any of the apps.
I really need to find a way, as the 8.5GB internal storage is just not enough!
Please help guys!!
Thanks in advance!
Directory Bind doesn't work anymore, only Folder Mount for Android 4.2.2
error
even folder mount is giving me error. something related to extSd card permissions...
i dont know how to fix it!!
maybe you need to format it, exFat is supported.
i did format it as well!! i have no idea why its not working..
i even tried genuine 16GB samsung microSD Card!!!
STILL THE SAME... Arghhh! this is getting annoying...
i cannot install most of the games i want... if i can, it has to be 1 or 2!!
I'm using AMDL build and AMDK kernel, not sure if this any help.

I have the same problem like roni2915, and I'm currently using AMDL build and AMDK baseband.
May I know which method did you use to root your S4?
i use the steps given here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2258571
Event after root, under Device Status it shows Official
1) flash with I9500XXUAMDL_I9500OLBAMDK_I9500DXUAMDK_HOME.tar.md5
2) flash with Kernel_XXUADMK
3) flash with cofface_I9500_cwm_recovery_en and root it
4) flash with Kernel_XXUADMK
not sure if those were steps taken, but yeah finally it work. rooted with su 1.25 and did update and move all updated app to system.
did factory reboot and setup my S4 again - all went ok.

Hi all,
I successfully rooted my MOJO, but I still don't know how to move games to the SD card. I tried a few apps to achieve this, but none of them seems to work. What am I doing wrong? I hope you can help me.
Thanks in advance!
Are the apps giving you any message? App2SD will say something like "The device does not have real primary external storage, or the Primary external storage is emulated. Moving app to SD function may not be supported by this device"
You might try this: http://karthikkn.wordpress.com/2013...ard-on-your-android-phone-without-rooting-it/

Are you sure your SD card is being read by the MOJO?
Format SD Card to FAT format.
Insert Card.
Go to settings, storage, mount sd card.

Yes, my SD card is mounted, I can access it by using a file explorer. However I am not able to move games.
@ExtremeRyno Yes, this is exactly what App2SD is saying. Thanks for the link, did you try it out? I don't think this is going to work on the mojo, since it is not possible to connect a USB cable and using ADB. Or am I wrong?
Is nobody here who successfully moved games to SD card? We have root now, so it should be easy, or not?
You can ADB in via network. Get the IP of the mojo from settings->status, then it's just "adb connect ipaddr" so you can try out the link instructions.
Root doesn't always equate to a completely open system. Some devices just don't work with moving apps to an SD card. My A700 doesn't allow it, and I'm rooted, but my NookColor does allow it. I've yet to get my cable delivered, so I can't attest to anything as of yet.
Maybe someone with MadCatz can give an explanation? I know it's an extremely important feature for a gaming console to have enough storage to handle more than ten or so big games at a time.

Found a new app today that seems to get around the problems the other apps have: FolderMount. It's free. I plan to try it out as soon as I root...Probably in the next couple days. If you get a chance before me, let us know how it works.

Also, I'm aware of the double post, but they're days apart and this needed a bump (for great justice, right?)

Tanks for the tip! I just tried out this app, but unfortunatly it doesn't work. Maybe it works for smaller games, because I was able to move the data to the SD card with it. But if you move big games with OBB data and then start the game, it doesn't find anymore its OBB data and downloads it again.
Also, you can't move back the data from the SD card. I just tried it out with NOVA 3 and I have to redownload the whole game now
It works now, yeehaaa :good:
For some reason, the MOJO needs to be rebooted after moving the OBB data to SD card
Summary:
1. Root the MOJO
2. Format your SD card as a primary partition using fat32
3. Install this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.devasque.fmount
4. Move OBB data of your games
5. reboot
Remark: If you want to move more than 2 apps/games, you will have to buy the pro version of this app.
Awesome! I tried it out on my tablet last night and moved around a couple games....But never more than two at a time. I had no idea that was actually a limitation, either..Just worked out that way. I'll have to buy the full version as soon as I root.
Excellent news.

I tried that folder mount and did move the folders, but the internal storage indicates the same as before and the obb data remains in the internal storage as apposed to moving completely to the external.Meaning i don't know why but it doesn't work?I too have rooted my m.o.j.o so it's not because of that either.

Okay try again but on a fresh start (on/off).
Maybe you had a process running in the back?
And remember to reboot it after moving.

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2748087 this works though just been clarified for games being moved.
Unless I am mistaken apps2sd and gl to sd, don't move the data file making them useless in the real world. and I've not looked into it for about 6 months or so, so something might have changed but filemount doesn't work correctly on android 4.2.2 and onwards.
And unfortunately its the same for directory bind (undoubtedly the best mount/binder ever on android) simply amazing application but again it don't like 4.2.2
Not tried directory bind on the mojo cause unless some things changed with it the last few months its not going to work. Also I don't fancy doing anything to the mojo until a Recovery's available and that ain't happening unfortuinately

This thread will probably help you if you follow the points step by step. It´s originally written for the Note 3 but can be equally applied for the S4. If it doesn´t, then your SC card is likely to be broken and you´ll need to get a new one.
Hi,
Thanks for the reply but I don't think this will work, nevertheless I will try it an post the result here. My card is definately not broken because it works in my computer and in other devices as well.

KitKat disabled SD Card support for anything other than regular files. this means you cannot move apps to a SD card anymore, you have to roll back to a Jelly Bean rom, or use SDFix, run it, and then use Link2SD to move your apps.
