[Q] Stock Height for Navbar/Softkeys on Malladus? - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all - my first ever post on the LG G2 forums for XDA (be gentle)
I did search and found plenty of navbar customization's and a few that say that they take it back to stock etc. but for whatever reason whatever I flash - the navbar height doesn't go back to what stock is for the Verizon LG G2.
Am I missing something? Is there a way to put the navbar height back to stock on Malladus?
Thanks in advance and I appreciate all that this community does for the LG G2 owners out there!

[Q] Stock Firmware, Silly Lockscreens

Surely I can't be the only one who is annoyed by the silly lockscreen animations that LG implements into their firmware. I just want a nice simple lockscreen animation that isn't a "Crystal" or a "Dew drop". Why not just have a simple fade? Is this too much to ask? I recently flashed to Cyanogenmod 10, and its nice, but it is missing some key features that the stock firmware had, like the transparent soft keys on the home screen, or the Quick Remote app, so I'm thinking of restoring it to the stock firmware. Does anyone know a solution to the stock lockscreen rubbish?
I love them, their awesome, they make want to go back to stock everytime.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2462905
but it you want to disable you will need a different lockscreen app.
try finding which apk is responsible for lockscreen animation, probably weather freeze it at own risk and check.

My bad, I haven't really done this before, and just took a stab in the dark.

[Q] Recommend a 4.4 ROM with stock LG features? (e.g. knock on, etc)

Hi there,
Seeking some advice on a ROM. Hate the look of stock LG G2, just installed stock-like kitkat on my old GNex and saw the google experience launcher with transparent everything, DO WANT. However I'm afraid of losing some features of stock LG software. Maybe you guys can recommend some ROMs, or if it's best to stay stock to get all the features I want, recommend some mods that will give me all the ROM features I want?
Things I NEED
Knock On/ Knock Off (LG feature)
4.4 Stock "Look and Feel" (fonts, transparent bars all around, appearance of time and battery and notifications bar, black instead of white setting menu, etc, you get the picture)
Always listening on the home screen, possibly the lock-screen, pretty much anywhere I can have it all over the UI (as per 4.4, not LG)
Recent Apps button instead of a menu button (as per 4.4, not LG)
Open apps from the lockscreen with apps icons already visible when looking at lockscreen (not the style where you hold finger over lock icon to see a choice of apps in a circle, and then have to swipe a specific direction. I used to have that and didnt like it as much as I like LG stock way of actually showing icons without you touching anything, and you swipe the icons, not a lock towards the icons)
Circle battery type thing on status bar that shows percentage
Things I haven't tried/am not sure about but might want from stock LG software, and might not want to lose flashing to custom ROM
Better stock camera?
SmartShare from the gallery app? (says it uses wifi/bluetooth to stream content to other devices)
Beam/DNLA/I don't even remember what it's called or what app I found it in?
Quickremote
You tell me please? I'm sure there's a bunch of stuff I've yet to discover that I might want (are any of LG's apps e.g. notebook useful?)
Things that are cool but not really necessary
Themes and a ton of extra features -- used to use AOKP and they had a decent amount of extra feature, not too few like CM, not too many like other ROMs where my head just starts spinning from all the features
Other
I'd really prefer not to have to wipe all the time, CM's OTA update feature was awesssooome when I had CM on my GNex, but CM is a little feature-lite for me, I mean it was good though, that's just a minor complaint. But if there's something better fitting my criteria above I'll put up with having to wipe to flash updates of the same ROM in the future if its necessary. I just never understood why OEMs can push OTAs to people and never make them wipe, but for custom ROMs (updating new versions of same ROM) I have to re-set-up everything every time
A lot of this stuff has been addressed already. Most ROMs have knock on built in, but not knock off. The work around is downloading an app that turns the screen off, and using a gesture control in another app (such as Nova Launcher) to double tap the home screen to turn the screen off. Though personally, I just have screen off set to my nav ring so I can access it from any page I'm on.
There's a flashable install here on the forums some where for Quick Remote. Works fine on AOSP ROMs.
As for 4.4 stuff, I have no idea.

How did you do that? I nowhere find a setting to change anything in the navigation ring.

Download a custom launcher from the playstore like Nova or Apex. You'll be able to set your drawer and home screen grid size accordingly. Changing your dpi within your build.prop wont actually give you more space to put icons, it just scales the graphics.
Just install CloudyG2 2.2 or CloudyStock and you'll never use another ROM again . You'll see a lot more lollipop development once all the G2 models receive the OTA update.
Thanks, for the info , do you also happen to know if there is a way to hide the softkeys, i don't think its possible to use g2/g3 tweakbox on CM right?

Not to my knowledge, CM12 is still unofficial for the G2 and doesn't contain the expanded desktop mode feature just yet like CM11 does. I say just stick with KK ROMs until Android 5 becomes stable and feature packed (aka wait a few months).

It does? Beautiful! Glad to have helped. Remember, you can tweak expanded desktop mode even more by choosing to only hide the status bar, nav bar or both.

LG G6 - Is it possible to change the colour of the default message/contacts app?

I've had the G6 for a while now, and constantly swapped between themes from the LG store. I kind of got fed up, since no single one is 100% what I actually want.
I have no clue who thought that a puke yellow message app or a yucky green dial/contacts app was a good idea, but it seems that the puke yellow has followed to the G6.
I remember on the G3 that it was possible to change it while rooted, but I haven't really found anything about the G6 from Google. I was able to choose a custom colour and everthing, I loved it.
Is it possible? Or will I have to install a custom ROM?
Thanks for your help in advance.
A theme.

Icon shape after Oreo update

Hi guys,
After updating my LG V20 to android 8 the icons are always rounded square shape (specially Google & LG apps) even if I change it to original shape in the settings. Any idea or solution to this problem?
I don't want to install custom ROM & icon packs. I want my phone clean from these junks.
Guess its the compulsory new look courtesy google
