OK, after using a custom 4.4 ROM for a while I got tired of the GEL launcher and the transparent status bar/navbar. So I flashed the nexus 4 factory image to complete stock and it has the navbar set to black everywhere but the lock screen it seems, so I wanna make it black again. Anyone know how? I would flash another ROM if there's one that has it, any suggestions?

I'm running Carbon with hellscore. I believe carbon gives you the option to change colors in your statusbar. I hope that's what you're looking for?

Sorry if someone has posted this already but I am wondering if there is a way to change the new ugly gray launcher bar back to black. It is super annoying when you are watching movies and stuff. Preferably I would like to get the stock launcher bar back without having to load a custom rom. Thanks.
You can load the StarBurst Toicwiz ROM

Doesn't he still need a Deodexed rom? Said he doesn't want a custom rom, so it wouldn't work.
you will need to root and flash clockworkmod recovery. If you take the plunge there are a few options on the theams page. I id have to say this is one of the easiest devices to root

Thanks you! This is exactly what I was looking for! Will this work on a stock rooted rom?
If its rooted, i don't see why not.
Boot in clockworkmod recovery and flash it from there.
Hi guys,
I have original rootted rom, but I have a problem. I want use Tablet UI, so I changed lcd density to 175, than 170 and finally to 160 and i still have notification bar on top, but other things are in tablet UI?! Any idea?
I didn't have any luck enabling tabletUI by changing the density either so I flashed TabletUI Patch instead.
You could also use ParanoidAndroid ROM but if you want to stay stock then check out the patch I linked to
I try it, but it doesnt work. Stuck after flashing!
Give ParanoidAndroid a try! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1800268

Hi
I am new to android and only today i rooted my nexus 4 and installed cyanogenmod 10.1. The reason why i rooted by device is because i need transparent (or semi transparent) status bar and a transparent bar at the bottom (the area with back and home). Is there any particular app or anything to get a transparent status bar??
thanks in advance

No joke, I thought the same.
AOKP has the transparency option as well, btw.

AOKP lets you adjust the transparency from 0-100%, both top and bottom or individually. It's also a great ROM all around.

Really looking forward to this if it works I've been trawling through the internet for something like this but there was no simple flash apk solution; there were many DIY methods that never seemed to work :S Will this work with stock ROM?
as far as i know it should be deodexed. just install a deodexed one (there are plenty of stock deodexed roms here on xda for n4). i am interested in this too
man i hate the new "wait 2 mins before edit until you a sufficient number of posts" )
Thank you. I installed and AOKP rom.

I still want the apk file. Please post it exb0 when you're finished
Hi. Can you please tell me what exactly u want.
Sent from my Nexus 4
he actually wants the zip file so he could flash the transparent statusbar mod on a deodexed rom on n4. if you want the systemUI.apk file then you should also get the modified framework-res.apk.
I can only do it if you're running CM10.1. I will NOT compile it for stock or any other rom.
if you do it for cm 10.1 then i'd be grateful thanks
not sure if this will work for you, this is compiled with the latest nightly. I sync it everytime. 50% on the statusbar and 100% on the nav bar. Push the APKs yourself or make a ZIP for flashing.
it doesn't... i mean it sort of... works) it f****d up the navbar meaning i can work on it but has flickering and shows images of the statusbar on the background and other stuff which shouldn't be there.
I think you'll have to use my rom instead
Is it not possible for this to be done on the stock ROM?
Hi!
Is it possible to replace NavBar buttons with just 3 small dots on stock 4.4.1 ROM?

Sure I would have to make a mod for it...But it's something I was thinking about doing anyway. I'll have them post this weekend in the CandyShop... U do need to be unlocked and custom recovery to install keys tho.

Hey - I've tried looking for this but I don't think anyone's done it. Can anyone port the stock lock screen to AOSP based ROMs...Jishnu..you seem to be the man when it comes to LG stock stuff. I finally made the jump to CM11 from stock on my D800 but I miss the weather and unlock animations on the stock lock screen...as well as the 5x2 weather widget.
Thanks!

You could give this a try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.lockscreen.optimus I'm not really sure how well it works. I tried it on Mahdi once but I can't remember if it had weather and all or not.

No need to request it as its just disabled on your phone. Find the ro.lge.capp_lockscreen build.prop entry and change it to false and reboot. Or you can just install the G2 xposed module and enable the aosp lock screen.
Hi i instal g2 xposed modul and cann not find the function for aosp lockscreen.
