How can I accomplish this setup? I'm pretty sure it's paranoid android because it looks as if its in tablet mode, but I'm stumped on everything else. Maybe UCCW? Idk but i really want to know. Any help greatly appreciated.

No body has any ideas? Maybe everyone else doesn't think it's as lovely as I do. Maybe I should try the general android forum?

Found it by doing image search and typing android.
Not the easiest to find, but you gotta be creative in searches sometimes
If you want to change DPI you can use the App Settings or other xposed modules if you're not able to run PA anyways

Is it possible to use the AOSP dialer (not the HTC stock one) with DC or Froyo. Right now, every time I make a call using Google Voice or something, the HTC call screen comes up. I don't want to completely scrap Sense because I like some things like the alarm app. Is there a solution?
Yes I posted this in Q&A, but there seems to be more Q than A there.
help please
I would like this too.

I posted a reply on the thread started in dev and moved to QA, and I'll paste it here also. Hopefully we can either combine findings or someone will know the answer:
I'm hoping to do the same thing. I like the AOSP dialer and contacts much better.
I have been able to get the AOSP calendar, calculator, clock, browser, etc. to install on DC from bugless beast, so far with no problems.
However when I install some of the phone stuff I just get FCs for everything.
I installed the following apks from bugless beast on DC:
contacts
contactsProvider
Phone
Telephony
FutureDial
And got FCs. I haven't had a chance to try any further. Anybody else have ideas?
halp plz anyone
Can anyone do it?!
I can just install this and it will replace the sense dialer and call screen?

I didn't mean it could be done. I meant it in the Billy Madison sense.
Does anyone have a serious answer to my query?

That seems a bit harsh, considering my post with some valid information to get closer to an answer. I think if a few of us work on different ways of doing this, we will probably figure it out.
I appreciate your response, but it wasn't an answer to my question so much as a question in itself. Does anyone know how to install the AOSP Dialer?
I pulled apart the apk and I am in way over my head. Not sure what I'm doing.

i would like to see the aosp dialer too. i dont like the sense dialer at all.

I did answer how to install the AOSP dialer, it just didn't work. I'm hoping more people than me can actively try to get this to work (I work 50 hours a week and have a kid so I don't have a lot of time on my hands). I'll try to stop arguing and explain how people can work on this
The needed files are contacts, contactsprovider, and phone. However there is apparently something else needed to make them work properly. It could be adding another apk, or removing another apk, or even editing some other file (config file, framework file, etc.)
So I'm trying a post in the development section. Hopefully they don't kill it. I have included careful instructions on how to install this stuff, and my progress so far with the dialer. If other people keep trying, hopefully we can figure it out. I can say that just installing that contacts.apk will probably not work, since contactsprovider.apk is almost certainly needed.

This error is because the nand partition isn't mounted yet. Issue "adb remount" before.
It will clearly work with a rooted EVO Rom. See the thread below for an example:

Yes, it certainly CAN work. I wish some of the people that have made it work in those ROMs would follow up with us and let us know.
Most interesting thing so far: in that thread I posted in the dev section, someone said it worked with pre 1.47 OTA ROMs. I'm hoping to try a few things soon to see when it does or doesn't work.
Fresh 0.53 is a Pre 1.47 Rom. I've been trying with that for almost a month. I even tried porting over the files you listed in your other thread. All I get is force closes.
I'm running TAZv9 mod and have a nice looking color mod that makes my phone look and run really nice. Just curious if there was anyway to change the color on the screen that comes up when you are in a call. It has a red background when the call ends and green while you are in the call. Is there anyway to change this to a blue or whatever when you are in the call...basically is this something that can be skinned with one of the programs that is out there(MetaMorph).
I'm 41 years old and my 20 yr. old son has gotten me into this whole rooting thing. I appreciate you all letting an old guy hang in your forum. I write test software for a living so I am interested in maybe getting to the point where I can start messing with my own software apps, etc.
I'm sorry if the question seems really dumb to all you bright young people, but I couldn't find anything about it on the search button.
Thanks for any info and help,

I can probably put together a quick metamorph for you. The file is in Phone.apk
So instead of the green gradient you want a blue gradient? And keep the red gradient when it ends?
Just place the attached file on your sdcard in "AndroidThemes" and use Metamorph.
Yep. That is exactly what I want. Thanks!

Hey, not sure if you have had a chance to make that blue gradient yet? I was thinking I might just try to do it myself. So, do I just find the file on my phone, copy it to my

Its attached to my post above.
Copy it to my computer and then use something like photoshop to edit it?
Sorry about the two posts...I was replying from my phone and somehow hit the menu and send as I was typing away. Is that file recognized by most picture editing software packages or do I need to convert it somehow? Thanks for any and all information. If there is a post or Wiki about this somewhere Im sorry...please point me in the right direction.
Thanks

Thanks again!

Just download the file and your computer. Hookup your phone and mount the sdcard. Then create a folder on it called "AndroidThemes". Next download "Metamorph" from the market. Run it and select the "blue-in-call" theme, and apply it.
Yes...I figured that out and it looks great. My questions were about what you used to modify the graphic (Photoshop)? Im hoping to start modifying some stuff and make my own graphics to use with Metamorph.
Thanks again for your help and for not flaming the old guy!

There was a blue gradient in the apk already. I just renamed the file.

Can i ask how u got v9 when i never released it? Lol
LOL..yeah sorry. I had Version .8 I guess and then my son upgraded me I guess to version .9 and I thought it was 9...sorry!
I am looking for the notofication pull down widgets.
A cherry pick or a link to a github page is also ok. I can work my way from there.
Can someone help ? I looked into CM9/AOKP/Paranoid Android, but there is so much to search.
I'm guessing apps like Power controls or widgetsoid are out of the question? Also, are you planning on making this into something to add to stock roms or a whole new rom? Just curious.

I want to add this into a AOSP ROM. Which I hope to release sooner or later. If I can integrate that, less RAM will be used in the process than having another app running in the background.
Makes sense. If you get it figured out, I'd love to know how to add it to something of my own.
Found it finally
https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_packages_apps_Settings/commits/ics
it should be somewhere there. That will give you good place to start looking I found the cleanup code so the original must be there as well.
Hi,
I build AOSP to start creating custom Roms but for some reason it is different then stock.
1. Sounds are different like on keyboard typing
2. Boot logo is different
3. Few other things
Why? How to fix thanks! And please don't yell at me about apps, I know gapps are not included it is fine

You take the missing things from the factory images google posts. You can use a program like beyondcompare to see what is missing easily.

Thanks for the clue ! Will take a look at it But it is not really the missing apps that scare me but pretty much the difference ^^
Hi,
I'm looking for an App that tells me when my phone has switched to 4G. Ideally notifying me with a sound of my choosing.
I've looked at Tasker and AutomateIt, but both seem overly complicated for the sake of one task. A bit like using Photoshop just to resize a picture.
Does anyone know if one exists? Or failing that, a simple way to get Tasker or AutomateIt to do it?
I'm using a LTE S4.
Many thanks! :good:

EDIT: I've bit the bullet and splashed out 50p on this;
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tt.fourgnotification&hl=en
So far so good, but it is very basic with no option of changing vibration type etc.
I would still be interested to see if there is a more sophisticated way to do this.
