If you can't find the source of the drain try a factory reset.

We went through so many threads like that, my man.
Do a search.
For the headup, assuming that you have already turned off Android location access, turned off Google location access, turned off auto-sync (I know you said you needed it but just for now, off it), turned off gps/mobile networks, do the following
a. disable Knock On/Off feature
b. disable CIQ (if you don't have CIQ, then ignore this step)
Note: do one by one and make an observation how the battery life behaves after each change.
Oh, btw, reboot the phone, say, right after unplugging the charge.

In term of battery life, I was considering myself as one of the unlucky one but after done all those, I got pretty good result. Normally last about 3 days with 6 hrs screen-on time and 4 hrs talk time. No wakelocks

you should know better than to give stats.... standby hours and battery life is varied alot by user, ambient temperature and etc.
OP if you feel thats not right, flash another rom see if it help, I'm using energy rom, its good for me so far.

Try remove some bloat and apk with titanium... A regular user can often remove 100 apk from these roms! And use bootmanager and greenify! Greenify is must have!

Don't hope, fix now.
If I was you, I would backup all my important personal info on the phone and factory reset it.
I would do those tricks one by one w/o installing any app yet and see how the battery fares after each charge.
General speaking, we need to understand the root cause and find the solution from there, if it needs to be rooted to fix the problem then you root it otherwise, blindly rooting and assuming everything else will fix isn't the right way to debug.

Android OS "keep awake" status drains my battery

Hi guys, I'm stuck in this problem from about 2 weeks...and i can't get rid of it. Im on PA with franco kernel. But this would happen with every kernel.
Android OS "keep awake" status grows everytime i turn off the screen. It can reach up to 2hrs with 15 hrs of battery life. If i turn stock ( i did the procedure on sunday) the problem seems to disappear so is not hardware related...
I've just factory wiped my phone and flashed the new pa rom and franco milestone. The Android OS keep active status continues to grow insanely. And ive only gmail installed it seems to grow only when i turn off the screen.
Rom dev told me that is not rom related (no one with pa has the same problem)
Kernel devs told me that is not kernel related
I can now suppose that this is not apps related, Ive flashed common gapss for paranoid rom, that's the stock pack.
What the hell causes this awake status???
Android OS in battery page means apps related drains.

So you're saying your phone doesn't have any other apps besides the ones in the /system and you still have Android OS as the battery drainer? Like just ROM + gapps? No 3rd party apps?

yes...this is the situation. I come from a clean installation (factory reset/wipe cache/wipe dalvik -> flash rom+kernel+gapps). Obviously i have the aosp browser and the goo manager...
Another weird thing i've noticed is that i have the voice "operative system" in my mobile data usage that has downloaded 90kb in background. I know that "google services" is related to the account synchronization...but what is this "operative system" ?
ah...ive forgot to say that i i've disabled the "backup and restore from google account" option
no other help?
Disable admobs in Play store and gmail
Disable everything in Play store as a matter of fact (notifications and such)
For me, Android system is taking number two spot in battery usage.. after the screen. I doubt that is normal.. the matr1x kernel was very good as far as I can remember.. I used it for a bit, but the stock will keep the fluidity in lockscreen.. waking takes a split second longer with other kernels.
Have you tried redownloading and reinstalling everything? Maybe install the aokp gapps, which has less items and download the one or two you need for the first few hours.. just to check..
R: Android OS "keep awake" status drains my battery
Just installed xda to say that even with every single little thing disabled...even with WiFi and mobile data off...it keeps growing (5 secs in 10sec of screen off)
Ive tried everythng even return to stock (seems to solve the issue). if i remember well...with pa i can flash only the gapps that come with this rom
It's just weird

Update
Ive found something really weird...
If i manual sync my account in the google sync menu....the keep active status in my android os stat...fall down in time for about min.
Everytime i manually sinc the account...the keep active status decreases.
Someone has an exlpanation for this?
UPDATE: i've removed and relogged my google account many times. And the Android OS "keep awake" has fallen down from 20mins to 0mins. I will repost later if it comes back
Update: nope...now is growing faster even at screen on. It raised to 4mins in 5secs

I would try different roms like rasbean, minco, and others because that problem usually goes away . Just let the ROM settle for a little bit and look on BBS to see what it shows you.

The aosp browser and goo manager are in the /system, not /data. What you should do is install BBS, charge your phone, unplugged it and leave it for at least 4 hours and dump the BBS stat. Don't forget to enable root features so it'll show the alarm stats.
If you're saying that Android OS keeps your phone awake then BBS will show that your phone doesn't go into deep sleep.
R: Android OS "keep awake" status drains my battery
Hi guys...
Turning to stock (franco kernel) seems to have solved the android os keep active status...now it just reaches sometimes a couple of minutes...returning back to 0 without doing anything...even at screen off.
But 25 mins ago ive set a custom reference to BBS and left the phone in standby. I dont know why but tapatalk used the cpu all the time...and never let the phone going to sleep. Ive not even used tapatalk from when the phone booted

Another update in case someone has the same issue.
With a custom kernel the phone has continued to have the issue. The keep active status was lesser than before but it was there at 40mins of awaking the phone
So i had to reset kernel and turn completely stock. Once in stock ive factory resetted the phone going in phone settings.
Now the issue is really gone. However i still dont know what has caused it. Maybe something in the android system settings
If someone has an explanation i would be really grateful

*Guide* : Better battery life on htc one [Updated]

Just want to add on here for more battery saving tips
Guys I may have found an easy way to curb Google play services or any other spyware app to stop them from doing things like Access location or mobile networks which may further wreck yr battery life There are 2 guides here , Guide 1 (maybe redundant) and guide 2[updated] . if u think one of these guides works better than the other in yr bbs or gsam results, u want to use just only or a combination of both
App: Guide 1(maybe redundant)
LBE security master ( english translation is xposed module, so install that first)
Install and open the app
Go to permissions , Google play services all permissions , location and choose block or prompt
U can do this for WiFi and 3g too
I can also set all apps to prompt this way u know which apps want to access what when not opened . And deny them when they are running in the background . Also u will know if Some apps will access eg. Location when opened .. as o fnow i have made all apps to prompt mode so i can identify which app is running wild,. So far none
this part here may significantly save battery
first get this app : disable service
choose google play services and untick
analystics service
checkin service
NLPlocationreceiverservice
google location service
dispatching service
2) Then using app system tuner
go to google play services - receivers
checkin.checinservices$reciever
checkin.checkinservices$triggerreciever
checkin.checkinservices$tSecretCodeReceiver
checkin.eventlogservices$receiver
update.SystemUpdateService$SecretCodeReceiver
update.SystemUpdateService$Receiver
loginservice.migrateToAccountmanagerBroadcastRecei ver
*After this u wil only see GCM service runing in settings-apps -running
yr apps should work fine using battery saving location type
3) Disable Google syncing , u tick individual items in settings - accounts and sync - yr Google account
4) get greenify paid version
Tick wakeup timer colescaling in experimental features
Update:Guide 2 . this guide here may do all a of the above in a better way
1) install paid version Greenify and latest xposed
2) go to experimental setings and tick "reveal hidden sync"
3) go to phone settings , autosync, clik on yr google account and u will see new options with a *.Now can choose watever u want to be disabled
4) Also u can do the same for Facebook app or any other app with * entries . . U don't need Facebook acting independently . BlinkFeed will update for u the feeds
5) use Disable Service app from the Play store to disable:
Google Play Services
com.google.android.location.reporting.service.Repo rtingSyncService
(ReportingSyncService)
Google Services Framework
com.google.android.gsf.subscribedfeeds.SubscribedF eedsSyncAdapterService
(SubscribedFeedsSyncAdapterService)
here is the screenshot in phone settings for google and facebook example

well i think something else is drainign yr vbattery u need to check for kernel wakelocks and apps which have in built in ads constantly pulling data
anyway LBE security has option to block all ads in apps. look for that section and do that
and also in LBE security under 'location: main section put all apps to prompt and see which one is doing something when u never opened it

just realised that yours could be a batery calibration problem ( if on custom kernel )
what rom are u using and the version ? all i know is that some roms/ kernels have a battery bug reporting problem or they have not adjusted to the battery cycle. try to recalibrate the battery . u dnt have to full charge it and drain to zero, just drain to zero a few times around 3x . see how that goes .

Oh yeah i had the same doubt. .im running paranoid android 4.6 beta and stock kernel. .im doing the calibration now.thanks!Il do that and let you know
Well my battery drains 1.2% per hour when idle.. I'm running Google edition with elemental kernel.. Downclocked to 1.5 GHz and undervolted a little too.. WiFi is always on!
Btw the best I can achieve is 0.8% idle but that's on 1.2 GHz and it's not worth it, things feel kind of slow!
I haven't tested the suggested tweaks, maybe sometime.

Better battery life especially during standby or when screen is off
Hi Lewonsky!
Since you seem to know a lot about achieving a better battery life i thought i would take your help if you dont mind.i decided to try out the HTC extreme power saver mode last night since its supposed to disable all syncing of background data and save a lot of battery. And i'm not sure where the problem lies here but it seems to be even more worse with the extreme power saver mode turned on.It's lost 17% during the 8.5 hours i was asleep and for the entire time it was on extreme power saver mode only. .Ive even attached a screenshot below where it indicates that it was in deep sleep for 99% of that time. .taking this into consideration is it really supposed to lose so much battery overnight on extreme power saver mode?any help would be really appreciated thanks!Im on viperone 7.0.1 and stock kernel.I also tried draining my battery to 0% a couple of times as you advised me to calibrate battery. .If you have any other advice or suggestions on how to get a better battery life especially during standby or when screen is off it would be great. .i already am planning to follow that you have mentioned in a couple of threads of yours regarding this. .Thanks again for all the help!

I have noticed the extreme power saver is buggy in 4.4.3 Rom . At times it didn't turn off the data . So I have reverted to 4.4.2 5.11.661.8 Rom . This is the only version according to me in which extreme power saver node works correctly .
Try reflashing the firmware

sometiems rom and firmware xcombination may cause problems but very rarely unless there is a bug with the firmware released by HTC
the battery i think uneed to input some codes in the dialer it will shhow u battery health .
anyway not sure how reliable is that.
try to change roms and see if the battery still behaves that way.

I don't know. But try to use the firmware Intended for yr device like 6.13.707.1 . I just flashed it. Avoid the European firmware,, in my opinion it doesn't work well on Asian devices and causes a bit of battery drain.

N910F, "Android OS" battery drain - can't determine the cause

This started happening about a week ago... I didn't install any new apps in particular. I've attached screenshots to the post.
Screen-on time is a little below an hour in these screenshots.
As you can see Android OS and Android System are at the top of the list by a long shot. Android System seems "normal" in the sense that it has 58mn of CPU time and only 18mn of wakelocks (as reported by the built-in battery menu).
Android OS however kept the phone awake for 6h11 which seems like a lot. I'm not rooted, so I did the ADB USB trick in order to pull stats out of Wakelock Detector, and all of the apps clearly don't add up to six hours. Especially not the usual suspects like Google Services, Facebook, etc.
Diagnosis shows a LOT of system processes, and I'm not sure if that means 1) it's all good as far as user land goes (I don't have any weird apps) 2) there's a system process gone rogue for some reason 3) the cause isn't showing up 4) something else???
Does anyone have any idea what's going on?
I have the same issue. Tried greenifying everything. No dice. I reboot, phone fine, then stays away. I will say that my battery life is good though, but this riddle is driving me nuts

Me too - 910F - im on Lollipop, but struggling to make it through a day at the moment.
Checking my Battery Graph is the same Story - my phone seems to be Awake constantly.
Seems Android System is using it....
Anyone have any ideas?
I can only recommend rooting your phones and change roms or kernels.
TW is heavy on battery and if you change to a CM rom the battery life will increase dramatically.
I have rooted all my phones since the very first android phone ever made and i cannot own a non rooted device as the freedom of rooting is just to awsome to ignore.
Every time i have battery issues i ether change my rom or kernel and then my issues goes away...
Can't root Verizon unfortunately
Hmm. Try this. Unchecked under advanced wifi, the option to let Google and apps use wifi, even when wifi off. Since then, 12 hours, I have had normal sleep. Did reboot after Unchecked. . Premature to say I fixed it, but so far so good.
Update. Since unchecking that wifi option, phone sleeping normally still.
Update #2- after 36 hours. It's back! Awake constantly. Unreal

I can't think of a reason it would do this... I feel like an iphone owner
Ironically I see no difference in battery life.... Hahaha. But driving me nuts.
I get through entire day... About 3.5 screen hours on. At 7pm I'm at 20% typically. Maybe that's bad?

wakelock without root

I noticed that recently in "Battery"'s "History details", "Awake" is pretty much solid all the time( I do _NOT_ have "root",
How should I go about finding which app is keeping my phone awake? I did not install any new apps recently, however I do update my apps all the time..

Without root there's pretty much nothing you can do. You'd need root to use BetterBatteryStats, which will pinpoint what's keeping the phone awake.

it looks like it has something to do with missing blue tooth binaries inside of kernel, so not much of uninstalling apps left to do... the only app i can uninstall to get rid of wakelock is android wear, but then i'll loose sync to smart watch and that something I'm not ready to do just yet...
I submitted an issue to Google Android Issue Tracker:

It looks like you may have already rooted your phone based on the above comments and identifying the source of the wake lock, but for future reference it may be worth trying the PC version of wake lock detector to view your wake locks without Root.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2179651
I can confirm it works fine with Lolipop, although I haven't tested it with Marshmallow.

Thought so, it did look like it from the post Hopefully it will be handy if anyone stumbles on the post in the future via a search.
Good luck in getting the battery drain issue sorted!
As a side note while I don't have an Android Wear watch for a direct comparison, I do have a Pebble Time which is constantly connected via Bluetooth and it doesn't appear to be suffering from the same issue. Not directly relevant, but worth mentioning.

I do believe it's useful as well) Pebble Time watch doesn't use blue tooth same as Android Wear does, it's more like my UP2 and that's why you're not suffering from same issue...
I don't have wearable device. I only pair the phone with my car. But Bluetooth wakelock is almost always on. Wtf...
Bluetooth keeps my phone awake all the time also since the 6.0.1 update. This is when it's not connected to my car even. If I turn it off the phone will enter Doze mode just fine and it works as it should.

You need to turn bluetooth off when not using it. Do you by any chance use GasBuddy?
I don't use gas buddy. I never turned bluetooth off on 6.0 and never had this battery drain and the phone would go into doze mode fine. For now I do have it off. Hopefully they fix it in the next update.

as soon as I uninstall Weatherbug app off, my phone was able to enter deep sleep cycle and eventually doze off) I emailed to Weatherbug team, but it seems like they dropped the ball on Android app( I wrote to them earlier in regards to yet another bug a while back, yet they still haven't resolved it yet... honestly I don't even understand why Weatherbug needs to have "phone permissions" at the first place, it's not like it makes phone call or utilizes bluetooth anyhow...
anyways, it's pretty clear what needs to happen / only one thing left to do... UNINSTALL!!! oh and change my rating in PlayStore... maybe then they'll do something...

WIFI uptime 100% while it's turned off - battery drain

Hey,
I'm having issues with my nexus 6p phone where it seems to have some battery drain issues, when i'm checking the battery history the wifi uptime is 100% while it's actually turned off.
What i have tried:
Verifying wifi advanced options - turned everything off and changed freq to 2.4.
Location advanced options - turned everything off.
Looked in the xda forums , found a thread with the above solutions.
It's pretty annoying, my phone is updated to last version(this months update).
Have anyone else faced this issue as-well and solved it somehow?
Thanks in advance.

Battery drain on Nexus 6P
Hello,
I am experiencing the same issue. I tried few ROMs and Kernels, but since a month and something ago my Nexus 6P is having some serious battery drain issues. Before I managed to get over 5 hours SOT before, but then the battery drains began and now I manage to get only 3 hours and a few minutes at the best.... I turned off all of the potential settings that can affect battery life (scanning and location included) but it didn't help. It seems to me that my phone does not want to Doze (you can see it when you look at last screenshot)...
I am attaching screenshots from BetterBatteryStats (while using stock ROM and Kernel), and another screenshot from Settings->Battery while using ParanoidAndroid build.

I had the same issue for a while, but it has recently stopped. The WiFi usage bar is now empty. I haven't noticed any particular change in battery life whether it shows it or not so I would say it's nothing to worry about.
I've seen reports of this glitch from back when L was released. So it's probably no more than a glitch.

I'm on WiFi almost constantly anyway so I can't confirm.

Do you think it's a glitch? Can you please take a look at screenshots provided above by me and confirm it is a glitch or something else? Be it a glitch or not, something is still draining my battery very badly.
Thank you.

Personally, I wouldn't use the Facebook app. It's a huge resource hog. I use the mobile site. The bug discussed didn't actually cause battery drain though, it only showed on the graph as always on. You are most likely getting the drain from elsewhere. Try uninstalling Facebook and give it a 24 hour cycle. See if your results are better.
Also, I always recommend backing up and wiping internal storage once and a while. That can clear up a ton of issues.

Anybody that may have another solution?
P.S.: It seems to me that my Nexus 6P does not go into Doze Mode.
