I have updated the search app. How can I set it as the launcher? I don't find the option Settings>Home.
You guys gotta download the GEL in order for it to work. Check the Themes & Apps section.

I wish/hope Nova Launcher intergrates this feature with their launcher.

I downloaded the apk which installed the new google search and a launcher. It was a different site but the post just prior to yours may work. Not sure however. Once I had the launcher (Google Now Launcher), I had the active listening (Ok Google). Do a search for "GNL or Google Now Launcher"

I can't believe it....provided the link in post #15. Guess I need to edit it to make it clearer, LOL
I noticed a faster battery drain since last updates (Google apps). Installed Snapdragon Battery Guru and can confirm, that it does very good job. Also there's another app from Snapdragon called Glance. Its kinda info/lock screen, and provide a lot of info(battery, signal, notification etc).
When I try to install the apk on my moto g and click on accept, it automaticly says the update has not been installed.
Any idea how to fix this?

Google Ears is supposed to be a jelly bean feature, yet i dont see the widget available on my nexus 10? Anyone else have the same problem? or am i missing something here?
The widget is not called Google Ears, it's called Sound Search.
I am aware of that but still don't have it

You can add it as a widget on the lock screen.

Yes i have it installed
What's your region, and are you on stock ROM?
I'm in the US, and I have the Sound Search widget on both Stock and a custom AOSP ROM, and can add it to either lockscreen or homescreen.
If you're rooted install titanium backup. If you go into apps, you need to unfreeze it.
I am from the UK and i havent got a custom rom yet. havent got round to rooting.
I have modified Google Ears for unsupported countries..
thread of it is in Galaxy Nexus themes and apps section!
I would like to remove the google search bar; I haven't found a solution as freezing/removing Google Search also removes voice search, and I'd like to keep it. Any help, please?
Install a custom launcher from the play store; apex adw etc. You can't unless your rooted with a custom rom or deodexed

Has anyone tried to install this on your tablet? Working on mine so far and it's just stock and rooted

I tried it works fast even the ok Google works the only reason I'm not using it now is because every time I press the home button and it goes to the home screen the keyboard pops up

Works great with the Google Search 3.1 update which has fixed a lot of the bugs on non Nexus 5 devices, a few bugs remain though; when in landscape if you press & hold an app from the app drawer to uninstall there's no visible options like on previous launchers e.g. "App info" & "Uninstall", on further inspection if you drag it to the top left somewhere it'll go Blue & take you to "App info", on portrait everything is as normal, those same options appear etc. so I'd say bugs still need ironing out but it's still very usable.
Also in landscape the X is missing when removing apps from the home screen but again if you drag to the very edge (top left) it'll go Red & delete app shortcuts etc.

yes its about the google launcher
Well the Launcher installed fine on my tab 3 8.0 but I didn't have OK google on the home screen and after I changed languages I lost it on google search page as well... Velvet wouldn't install... I already have the newest google search and play services though so I thought all I would need is the Launcher? What am I doing wrong... I'm used to gel as that's what I have been using on my s3 for months now... Would love to get it working on my tablet as well...

I tried it on the 10.1 3G (P5200) and seemed to be fine except the "OK Google" feature didn't work.
I have installed the new google experience launcher on my tab 3 10.1 p5220 . Works fine , ok google is also working and I'm on stock 4.2.2 non-rooted.

Welcome . Were you able to install this launcher ? If so , then how did you find it? I think that you also must be facing the status bar problem that it's not transparent . But don't worry . You can modify the status bar like I have done by using Xposed Framework , Wanam Xposed , Gravity Box . I have attached the screenshot in this post with transparent status bar .
P.S. - Although I know how to enable the "OK Google" , I have not enabled the "OK Google" command .
Please hit thanks If I helped you . It cost's you nothing .

I have just one Question:
Why using KitKat Launcher since TW Launcher is just awesome ?
Note: If you're looking for a 3rd party app, just install "Nova or ADW"
You may also search for "KitKat Launcher" in PlayStore unless you want the Stock one from Nexus 7 (2013)

After the latest Google Search update, the Galaxys S4 keeps on asking which launcher to use, every single time i switch back to the homescreen.
it goes like:
using the Google Search Widget
return to the homescreen
"complete action using"
i choose "TouchWiz home" "Always"
and the next time i use the Google Search Widget again, i must go through the hole prozess again.
i did factory reset the the phone, but the only solution that worked for me was to uninstall the latest Google Search.
Lol I created a post about the same. Seems like there is no fix other than un installing the app

did you install any other launcher besides the stock launcher? I did install the "True Launcher" 5 days ago, so my first thought was, it was all its fault.

No I have not. I am not a big fan of launchers, since I had issues on the past. Those were fixed on 4.3 but when I updated Google search it started to happen. I did removed the updates for it and stop happening. That's why I know is the app

Has anyone managed to get okay google working with nova launcher?
What do you mean? If you're asking about the search bar on the home screen and saying "okay Google" then probably not. That's only on the Google Experience launcher. Unless maybe there is an always listening widget avaliable. Nova launcher does not have this built in.

So, just to be clear. You're asking if someone has modded the Nova launcher apk and built in the always listening Google search toolbar?
Here is a thread about that here - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2523251
Here is another interesting page and some good links about this subject -
http://android.stackexchange.com/qu...launcher-that-supports-google-now-integration
Anyway, hope that helps. I didn't realize that it was that integrated. Looks like it would be more likely that Google would enable gestures and all the Nova stuff before they would free up the Google experience stuff.
