Battery charging time - Nexus 7 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How long would it typically take to charge from 10% to 100%?
Sent from my HTC One XL using xda premium

It takes mine about an hour or so to get from the battery low warning to 100%. But my charging hole is slowly breaking, even though I've only had this device for about a month. So, sometimes it varies.

Strange mine takes five hours to charge. Wonder what it could be? Can u upload pic of your USB cable to make sure I have the same one.

Mine takes about 5-6 hours, stock rooted 4.4.2 rom and mine is nexus 7 2012. It hasn't been slow like this since the update of 4.3

[Q] How much time it takes to charge N4?

Using the provided AC charger in the box.
Well depends from how dead the phone is. My phone completely died, and it took about 3 hours I think to get somewhere over 50%

There's no way any phone or device on the planet takes 3hrs to get to 50%
I'd wait for another response

Thats sucks majorly as well. :S
Da **** is wrong with google? I thought the nexus S and galaxy nexus were slow charging due to them being samsung phones. This is total deal breaker for me. My friends optimus 2X charges in around 45 minutes, the 2100mah battery does not justify taking more than 3x the time.

Eh?
My ONE X takes 2.5-3hrs from dead, and its 1800mah
3hrs is as expected.

The GS3 charges in less than 2hours so obviously the one X has a messed up charging time as well.

I'll test mine speciifcally for this later but i'm fairly confident most of these posters are crazy, from what i've noticed I'm generally full in like 2 hours.

I'll be waiting.
3 hours is totally normal... I never had a android phone that charges under 3 hours... I wouldn't worry about it.
Maybe the nexus 7 charger will charge it a little faster since it uses 2a instead of 1a?

looks like people who are having charging issues (me included), the charger provided by LG is defective.
I've been charging mine through the wall charger and it says (USB)... it should say AC.. i changed to a samsung charger and now it says AC.
USB charging is really slow due to low amperage compared to wall charging.
The poster who mentioned 3hrs for 50% from a completely dead phone sounds about right for USB charging.

Is there a fix for slow charging issue?

Since i updated my device to 4.2.1 charging my nexus 7 really get slow..... It takes 6 hours to 7 hours to fully charge. Im using the cable and charger that it came from the unit.
Is there a fix for this one? Thanks.

AW: Is there a fix for slow charging issue?
Check whether the device charges in USB mode. It can happen for some reason I don't know. In this mode it charges much slower. I once had it happen when on AC.
It's on AC. It takes 6 hrs to fully charge from empty. =(

What do you mean by rebooting it? I have the same charging problem. It needs about five to six hours for me to charge fully. How did you solve it? Is it really the problem of android 4.2.2?
Just try rebooting it or restart the device while charging. Im using battery widget reborn app, to see how many hrs left to make my nexus 7 to be fully charged.
Here's what i do,
Plug the charger then check after 2 mins on the app battery widget reborn how many hrs left to be fully charged, if it's says more than 4 hrs or greater than that. Hit the power button and restart your device. Once the device booted up, check the remaining time left on charging if it's improved to 3 hrs or less to fully charged your device.
Try it. It's working fine for my nexus 7.

I tried the app you mentioned. But the remaining time it indicates isn't equivalent to the real time used. Maybe this app doesn't work for my device, it still needs four to five hours for my nexus being fully charged. Anyway, thanks for your reply.

Or you may try to go to bootloader, then turn it off.. Unplug the charger, then put it back in then turn on your device.. It works for me.

Ultra fast charging..

Wow check that out has anyone's device done that? Stock charger, batt went from 50% to full in round 5 mins...?!
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
Then, after you reboot, the percentage stays the same?
Nexus4 modded with cyanogen.
mine done that once... but it was trolling me.
After reboot? Nah.. it dropped to 28%!
Fastest discharge in history too.
Fail

My N4 did that once even worse, went from 7% to 100% in under 10 minutes, I was do confused. I had to run out so I grabbed it and took it with me, battery went to 97% after about twenty minutes then phone just shut off. Plugged in and had the red led. I plugged in and booted to recovery and let it charge a few, then booted up and it was at 3%, has been fine since.

Do you by any chance have lightflow installed...? I recently had my Nexus 4 going from 29% to 100% in perhaps 10 seconds and I have never seen this before and I have had the phone since december but have just installed lightflow about a week ago - after a restart everything was back to normal though....
No lightflow here...also hasn't happened again either so it seems random.

Using a 2.1A charger and not playing on it while it's charging, probably 3 hours top from 0%. That's roughly what it was with mine about a week ago, I think I have the battery history still logged in battery monitor widget pro, if I do I'll dig em up for exactness.
About 3 hours from empty to full charged with stock charger on mine.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda premium
With the stock charger, about 3 hours, maybe a little over.
Yep bout 3 hours here also for a full charge.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Hmmm actually mine is charging from 0% to 100% in 3.5-4 hours... weird
I bought the stock dock, and sometimes charging is super slow if I don't get it seated perfectly. That problem aside, does anyone use the dock, and what are their charging times please?

[Q] battery charge time

could anyone tell me a few details about, how long it takes to fully charge the G2?
3000mh sounds like a lot of charging time, right?
Not exact time but ours fast if you use the official chargers or anything with a 1.8 amp to 2 amp.

Actually, it's not long at all. This is my fourth day with this phone and each day I'm more impressed with the charge time, I have been letting my phone battery drop down to 15% before charging and on average I have been getting a full charge in a little under 2 hours while using its original charger. I am genuinely in shock and disbelief at the rapid charge time on this beast of a device, it has to do with the new Snapdragon 800 processor. I love this phone ?
Sent from my LG-D801 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Yeah, from 0-100% it takes about 2 hours
Well if you disturb the phone and use it while charging it takes super long. Like almost 4 hours.
