4.4.2 modem old bootloader - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
Can I flash NA2 (4.4.2 modem) on the old bootloader? or I need to stay on 4.4.2 firmware?

Good question, I doubt it, as flashing radios can lead to bad things.
I wouldn't try it in all honesty

(Q) Cm 11/AOSP after 4.4.2 bootloader update

Does anyone know, is it possible to flash a Cm 11 type rom, after we have upgraded to the Samsung 4.4.2 firmware with the new bootloader?
Are we able to flash the currently available roms, or do we need to wait for them to make changes to the kernel etc
Many thanks in advance

Cannot flash CM roms currently due to them being based on MJ7 bootloader. Need to wait to see *if* they update for new bootloader.. but seems unlikely at the mo.

Some people report that you will experience force reboots, however I'm not experiencing any, possibly because I'm on the Canadian device.

Download the bootloader and flash in odin or download the whole stock FW and flash in odin.. Its not rocket science..

You don't HAVE to. I used the very first bootloader on every single FW on JB and had zero issues.

Mate, fooling around with the bootloader is an easy way to get a brick...
If it works now, why would you want to play around with something that might completely screw up your toy?

Well, o thought i can keep my device update on par. The firmware, the modem and bootloader. My firmware and modem are updated to NC2. but my bootloader is still stuck to NB1. And well i believe so that if i'm on the same version which is 4.4.2, there will be hardly a brick. Correct me if i'm wrong.

If anything goes wrong with a bootloader flash the chance of a recoverable device are in the toilet...
Roms are generally fairly easy to reflash and so to can be recoveries if something goes wrong.
Bootloaders are the 1 thing you don't play with if you don't need to....
Who cares what the bootloader is anyway, as long as the device works which is why you needed to flash them to use Kitkat....
If you decide to go through with updating the bootloader then make DAMN sure the flash file isn't corrupt or you have any problems with the flash. Should be quick but truly those few seconds are a heart stopper, especially if it comes up fail in ODIN....
I have a lovely Samsung galaxy tab 7" paperweight to attest to this....

[q] downgrade to 4.3 possible?

AS EVERYONE KNOWS WE STILL DO NOT HAVE A WAY TO DOWNGRADE TO 4.3 WOULD THIS BE POSSIBLE TO TRY EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE A SPRINT S4?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZweIJrompdk
IT SHOWS DOWNGRADING WITH VW COULD WE FLASH USING ODIN AND THEN WHEN DOWNGRADE OCCURS TO FLASH A 4.3 ROM?
Anyone?

It seems like it isn't a full 4.3 downgrade. It's a temp downgrade without the bootloader.

Downgrade

Hello experts i would like to downgrade to 4.3 from lollipop how can i do it ? Im using cm12.1 now thank in advance
Sent from my SM-N9005 using XDA Free mobile app
If you're using CM12.1 with JB bootloader than find a stock rom and flash with odin. But it's hard to find a JB firmware now.
If using LP bootloader you can only downgrade to KK.
Dial *#0011# if it could show your bootloader version.
Else install samsung phone info from playstore and screenshot as below.
If i want to downgrade to kk i just flash the official using odin ?

There are many posts reporting they successfully downgrade to kitkat from lollipop. For error free use the same region/country firmware of your phone(check your phone csc). Did you ever flash lollipop on your phone? Because it doesn't means that if you're running cm12.1 your phone has lollipop bootloader. The last time i check it can even run with jb botloader.
Myself however would refrain myself from downgrading as it could take some efforts to recover in case it's unsuccessfull
