My g2 d801 was running a lg g flex rom, i removed all the bloatware like com.google books ect and it was smooth 4 up to 3 weeks . Untill i got tired of having 2 reboot my phone to update the video player every time i download 1 . So i decided to search up media refresh and came across the app devastated me called force media scan . Its an app with 1 button and it took up 2 4 minutes to scan . Then after that everything in my video played doubled so i tried going into storage to see how much was used up then the phone freezed and rebooted . Now everytime i turn on the phone it doesnt load a signal nor can i turn on wifi . I tried restoring all my backups across 3 roms i had in the past including the stock 1 wich just says error at the bottom of the screen nothing helped i even tried reseting on the unoficial cwm no good . Then i had the recovery image of twrp backed up on stock so i tried reseting that way still no good then all my backups were gone but today i tried returning to stock it was smooth it really is stock again but sadley whatever that app did didnt get erased . Somthing like this happened b4 on my first android but when i flashed that 1 back 2 stock it had an option 2 factory reset on the cpu like from factory. i was just wishing someone reads this and has a solution because i was planning on getting the gflex and ps4 but 1 of them will be replaced with a new g2

Hi Guys
I've had my Galaxy S for a couple of months now and I'm loving it, but I've run into a problem.
Yesterday I was using Google Navigation for about 45 minutes, I then exited to look up an address from an email and when the phone went to the home screen it froze for a few minutes followed by "Process (system) has stopped responding. [Force Close] [Wait]". I tried both options but nothing happened for 20+ minutes (as long as I waited) so I pulled the battery, but now the phone will not boot. It gets as far as the splash animation screen and then stays on that for about 5 minutes then goes to a blank screen with the buttons below the screen being lit up. I have left it like this over night and it has not progressed any further.
I have searched the forums but the only solution that appears available to me is a complete wipe, but if possible I would like to backup some data first like photos and music, is it possible to recover some data from it before wiping? I don't know if wiping will sort the problem but if I can get my data back somehow I guess it can't hurt to try (I can get to the recovery screen by holding vol-up and power).
It is running the stock Samsung 2.1 ROM, the only mods I have done is applied RyanZa's One Click Lag Fix which has worked flawlessly for weeks, but however I had recently updated it to version 2.1 with bind mounts at the beginning of last week, could this be the cause? It has worked fine since I did this until yesterday.
Also another point worth mentioning, I have had this same error a couple of times in the past but it has rebooted fine. Sometimes the phone appears to reboot in some way (the home screen (equivilant of windows explorer I guess) will close and restart randomly and the media scanner will run etc..but it's not a full reboot as it is much quicker, this problem did happen constantly for a couple of hours one day but it sorted itself out in the end.
So the main point it, is there a way to recover my data if the phone does not completely load up? And, generally, would a complete wipe from the recovery menu fix this issue?
Sorry for the double post.
I have been playing around with things and have now downloaded Odin3 which I understand can make a rom dump, which would presumably contain all my data as well which I could probably extract from the dump?
I have been googling for hours now and can't seem to find out how to create the backup in Odin. I have got the phone in download mode and connected via USB but Odin just says "<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 0)" and doesn't appear to even try to back anything up.
Is there a guide anywhere with how to create a dump in Odin?
Thanks
Problem solved.
I gave up trying to get back my data and decided to choose 'wipe/restore' from the recovery menu, and surprisingly, all my data is still there. All my downloaded apps are gone but the data is still present so I'm happy with that.
Mods: you can close this thread now if you want.
Thanks
Rob
Hey . i recently tried Lollirock
which i didnt like so wanted to go back to stock
I tried following https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images
seemed that it went fine, how ever it left me with a Google Screen and it wont boot
then i tried this ,
https://support.google.com/androidtv/answer/6121450?hl=en
which also went fine and did a factory reset ,
but still only the Google Screen,
any ideas
Wow, I'm glad you posted this. I was planning on going back tomorrow due to wife issues. The only thing worse than a hard to use rom is a non working one.
I have not tried yet, but how about reflashing the same way that you flashed the lollyrock rom? Instead of using the instructions on the stock rom page.
I am not sure how to get it to reboot to the bootloader at this point,
adb devices showes offline,
Unplug it and hold the button on the bottom when you plug it in
alright so that worked and now i am back to lollirock, but would still like to know how to restore it to factory
seems i keep getting FAILED (data transfer failure (Too many links))
thats what is causing going back to stock to fail
switched to a usb 2 port and went fine no errors and im back to stock
Hi Everyone
First post on this forum and first time trying to fool around with android.
I just replaced a new lcd + touch+ frame to an N4 its build was JOP40C
1) I said to myself why not trying to update manually to lollipop, well the N4 stayed stuck while booting with the colored dots.
2) I said to myself lets go back to JOP40c but that does not exist on google anymore so tried for hours many until JDQ39 and finally could get into my phone, but the number 6 and 7 where missing on the touch (???).
3) I said to myself well lets reinstall again and got totally my touch working.
4) Once done I received automatically an OTA from google, said to myself well lets do google, well the same happened again the phone was kind in a bootloop with the colored X.
Any help would be appreciated on why I am not able to update this phone, do I miss something that I should know and not found over all what I have read over the internet.
I have spent at least 3 working days on this and now I have to go back, make a living and hope that a pro will help.
I assume you're flashing the factory image and then you get a bootloop? Go into the stock recovery after flashing and do a factory reset.
Sent from my Nexus 5 using XDA Free mobile app
Tried that too lots of post over the internet about that but nothing keep getting blocked on the colored cross or bowls.
Tried also with Nexus Root Toolkit
Just received again the google update to 4.3 jelly beans on the N4 pressed restart and install then got the green robot and saying installing system update.
Then the phone got stuck in his bootloop and tird again the factory reset.
Still stays stuck in its bootloop.

Try checking the SkipSoft.net Android Tool Kit
I hope that helps
You ever check all sensors work?
Maybe the same problems with this http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/help/issue-sensors-update-t2973047#post60470486
HI
I have checked with another N4, installed a software and checked the differences.
Well you are wright on this one the luminosity and proximity sensors are not showing any sign of life.
It is already past midnight here in France, so I will check tomorrow if I can do something on these sensors.
Will keep you posted if I can fix the sensors and do an update after that.
Hi
How stupid I am, after screen change connector sensor was not pluged in and since I had placed the plastic cover with the screws, could not see it anymore.
At least after have lost so much time, next time I will post a little earlier and at least tonight I will go bed less stupid than yesterday
Google just send the 4.3 upgrade and everything went smooth just no touch anymore so cannot use the phone.
ok installed lollipop but still the same no touch, but now I can install an update but not use the phone.
Anyone on that touch problem
I purchased Galaxy s4 i9505 (16GB) some months ago and the first day when i opened it for the first time, it asked me for system update
( from stock i think it had jellybean , and it went to lolipop 5.0.1 instantly )
i was waiting about 30 minutes or more, but finnaly my new phone opened with latest firmware.
the first problems arrived just 5 minutes laters, when i realized that the clock app was not working.
i didnt care about it, since i downloaded another one from play store to fix this issue.
my problem was that i had extremely bad battery life and in general the phone was lagging as hell.
so finall after all this months today i thought of rooting my device in first palce, to clean up somehow unused apps and install another ones.
i did it succesfully following this guide -> ops i cant post links but you can search on youtube for -> How to root Galaxy S4 (I9500/I9505) running Lollipop 5.0.1
it worked good but after 2-3 restarts, it started saying that UI had stopped working, and there are no taskbars etc ..
i tried wipe cache partition but no luck.
any idea?
Perform a factory reset.
hi there guys, I have an issue since a lot of time with my G2; basically when I restore a stock ROM sometimes it works fine sometimes it constantly reboot after caching the apps when it starts.. For example I had the issue in the past then successfully restore Lollipop stock and rooted it; now I'm not able to make it boot again
anyway I just flashed the tot 16 GB firmware available and I choose to use for once the BOARD Dl option there. The device booted up into a test mode, I pick the All test choice and so I noticed something interesting.. the only voice that seems to fail is the TA wrong one.. it says Fail next to it.. I searched for this TA thing and it seems to be a Trim Auto partition, maybe where there are DRM stuff, proprietary things to make things harder for people wanting to root. but to be honest I never heard of it before ten minutes ago!
I also searched for this partition of the 16 GB partition available but I'm not sure there's one.. Still if it's true it's a partition!
Do you have any clue about that?
Also I would like to ask if to flash recent ROMs (Oreo / Pie) is mandatory to upgrade to stock Lollipop before or even KK would be good...
Thanks a lot guys, hope you could help, I feel bad for my G2, even if in the meantime I upgraded to new devices it's still my little one!
I rec ently changed the digitizer touch screen on my LG Stylo 4. Every thing seemed fine then now will blink what ever screen your on (on /off) (on /off) continuously without being able to touch anything to get out . I have to unplug cable from battery /reconnect. Per back up and it's fine as long as it is not moved. As soon as I pick it up same thing. I'm ready to throw it in the street or let my pit bull have a new chew toy! Would you have any suggestions?
