ive had my streak for about 3 weeks now and i love it , today i was replying to a text using the stock sms app and noticed my keyboard was off and my screen was shaky , so i hit the lock button and when i tried slider noticed that was jumpy also , all screens where jumpy so i read up on screen calibration and when that finished it just reset my phone to factory settings , it still does it randomly do any of you have a link that talks about this or has expirienced this and found a fix ???

I've been noticing this on my streak and for me it only happens when I have it plugged in and charging. As soon as I pull out the power cable everything is fine again. Not sure when this started, as it wasn't an issue when I first got the device.

Sounds odd.
I had a shaky screen before，and it happened from time to time,whether plugged or not.
And finally I realized what was going on:
capacitor screens are quite sensitive to humidity，temperature and electric field.
I solved my problem by keeping my screen free from sweat.
maybe your problem is cause by electric field?

ive had it happen.. seems to happen when charged by a low voltage charger..
works fine on my reg charger but i bought an extra one from ebay and it shakes on that one so i dont use it...
That could be it. I'm using an eBay bought USB power adapter and an eBay bought data/sync charger cable. I didn't have this happen on the my Dell supplied accessories.
Funz, my streak stats are as yours except mine isnt rooted yet. I got mine in March from Dell. It started shaking like that and I tried to see if it was possibly due to a recent app install or some conflict between apps. Are you using flash 10.2 by chance? My phone still jad 10.1 and it auto updated to 10.2. No new apps were installed prior to my screenshaking to after the update. Eventually it stopped.
Also, I was thinking maybe google or the android appstore were doing some sort of sweep or ota?
Whatever it was, it stopped by the next day.
yeah i am running 10.2 but it has stopped , im thinking it was what was posted above about the electricity field i was charging it next to my plug in speakers , and when on usb i was fairly close to the battery i since have moved my charger and only use usb when uploading and such , lets see what happens so far still liking my streak
I checked around and did not find a similar posting to this issue. If there is one out here please feel free to send me a link and I will read up on the details.
So I was driving the other day and accidently dropped my Mytouch 4g with the latest beta 2 ROM from Unity. The phone has no physical damage apparent from looking at the case but when I try to turn on the phone nothing happens. If I plug in the USB cable and connect the cable to my PC the phone powers up with an orange LED that then turns to Green after a few seconds. The phone never vibrates like when it normally boots up and the screen appears to light up for a second and then goes dark again. At no point does the screen actually display any content or images, it just lights up like it has power but remains black. I have tried holding the volume down while powering up and nothign happens. The phone does not appear to be damamged on the outside, the screen is not cracked or damaged in any way. I assume there may be internal damage but I am hesitant to disassemble unless I have an idea what I am looking for. Once the phone is connected to USB and powered up the PC notices there is a USB device added and tries to mount the memory card but is not successful. I do not have any way to access the phone via PC.
Is there anything I may be missing here in regards to non-physical damage? Is there any way I can try to force the phone into recovery mode or force it to return to the default build with key combos? I am hopeful this is a software / rom issue vs physical damage even though everything points to hardware being busted. The drop was only about 2 feet so it was not really that bad.
If anyone can offer any ideas i would be most appricative. I am back on my HD2 as a backup for now and gosh I miss the Mytouch 4g. thanks in advance for any help you can offer and apologies if I have missed key info or postings. Pleae be gentle, old HD2 flaher here but very new to the Mytough.
Get a replacement. Its dead. It most likely had the bad chip and the drop caused it to brick. Same thing happened to my girls mytouch with a bad emmc... sorry but its a goner

Yes, I have a problem that I call the Black Shroud of Death. Using transformer and the backlight goes out. I click the power on and I see the backlight go on but I don't see anything on the screen. Hmm, figure that I must have gotten my first SOD or maybe a misbehaving app is FC'ing. So I reboot, the ASUS logo flashes a bunch of times and then it goes to a black screen...backlight is still on though. It never "seems" to boot. I reboot a couple of times and it repeats the same process.
Then something odd happens, when playing with the power and volume keys I notice the lock screen for a second appears. Playing around more and suddenly I see the lock screen BUT only if I hold the volume keys. So, it IS booting but for some reason, the display is unable to show graphics. The backlight is on too so it's not a backlight issue.
I am able to unlock and I start disabling settings(I'm on Megatron) in hopes to hit on the cause of this issue. I release the keys and I'm back to the Black Shroud again! If I'm lucky, I can make it reboot into recovery where I don't need to hold keys to see options.
I tried downgrading to a different GAPPS version as I had previously upgraded and wanted to see if that's the problem. While it boot, the typical gapps upgrade screens were flashing like crazy.
I tried reflashing my ROM but that didn't seem to do anything.
My guess is that I need to completely power down and clear out some bad crap in the video memory. I opened the back of the unit but couldn't figure out how to pull the battery cable. I did manage to ruin some plastic clips on the bottom or something, so yeah the less than perfect bottom fit is now fun. So, my next step is to let it power down, charge it up and see what happens.
Any advice...other than don't enrage the Gods?

It might not be software but I can see the recovery screen so I have some reasons to believe it could still be software. Unfortunately, if I try to RMA, they're going to say that I voided the warranty....because I probably did by opening the case AND running a cooked ROM. So, they'll fix it but as a service. I'm not sure it would be worth the cost.
Wait for the next update. I tried sending it in for repair. No change what so ever. If it is software you got me beat on the weirdest ICS bug.

Yeah, I think it's some corrupted memory that sticks around after reboot. At least I hope so. When I get home tonight I'm going to charge it up and see if the power draining helped.
If not...well, it might be time to think about my next tablet. I'm interested in seeing how the "Google Play Tablet" turns out as their might be integration with home theater stuff. Then there's the updated Transformers or maybe the iPad. Yeah, I know iOS is boring as hell but it has lots of tablet apps and gets new one's first. I'm kind of getting tired of seeing...."Coming for Android".

Yea, you screwed up by opening it. You might as well upgrade if all else fails. I'd hold off on another transformer for as long as I can though if I were you...already hearing about minor defects in tf300s such as light bleeding.
Then there's always the...iPad...but make sure you update if you get one! Jailbreak that MF first and then you'd be good to go. My dad wants me to jailbreak his iPad 2, but it doesn't help that he's "update happy"

So, with some plastic clips damaged. Does it close properly now?
The battery cable should be either soldered onto the board or it uses zip cconnector. Nowadays cable/ribbon cable uses zip connector on motherboard.
And not all TF101/G would have 100% perfectly & exactly the same and this might giving you a little not so perfect in term of tiny capacitances on the board. This little components sometimes don't hold voltages that good as they should. Thus giving some trapped voltages and having your battery connected makes this trapped voltages remain in it. The best option now is to drained your TF101 completely and stay drained for another day(this is to let the capacitances drain its trapped voltages). The next time you boot and it might just solved your problem..

Almost, there's a slight bulge in the bottom but it fits on the dock.
Unfortunately, I think it's a hardware problem. I tried unbricking the device using NVFlash to load stock ICS but the entire time the screen never displayed anything. It didn't look like the entire Flash job completed and I can't get the back light to turn on now. I can't even tell if it's charging.
Anything more I can try before I chalk this up to a brick?

Have you tried leaving it for a day or two in total battery drained??
List you could do/perform.
1) NVflash works on B60 and below.. check yours
2) Put it in a freezer for a night
3) Dissemble again and see if anything disconnected or loose since the last time you open it.
4) Smell it and see if anything like burn smell around the motherboard(this could be over voltage from a weak components).

.
If all above still yielled the same result..
5) Check and see if your TF101 could survive 2 storey height drop..

A lot of LCD screens can be damaged by freezing, unless you know that the TF is safe I would not freeze it.
OK, I managed to unbrick the device but I still can't see any video. Backlight is working fine and I can output to HDMI. Digitizer is also working fine as I can manipulate the screen and see the result on the TV.
So, now that I'm at stock ICS and can output video. Does this narrow it down to an LCD problem? If so, is there a loose wire I can check? Am I likely going to have to send it to ASUS for repair?

Yes, but at the time I was looking for a cable that I could loosen, now I'm looking for a cable to tighten. Fml, yes it sounds stupid but I'm at the point where I need to decide if a repair or replacement is the next step. I'm not thrilled with anything out there.

I have a very similar problem to yours right now; the screen on my TF101 is entirely black but the backlight is on and i can output through HDMI fine. I'm still under warranty but i can't RMA it at the moment as it is running Android Revolution HD and i need to restore it to stock Asus TW firmware before they would fix it. Problem is Rogue XM Recovery is not able to output through HDMI ;p, so now i have to wait for someone to post screenshots/pictures on a thread that i started showing the menu for the recovery and the other screens involving wiping the dalvik cache and installing from zip file. Any closer to solving the problem?
I had the same problem of the backlight being on but no video. It worked over the hdmi but that was it. I had to send in my unit via a RMA to get it fixed.
Thankfully it was under warranty so they fixed it. Did you drop your unit?

Just out of curiosity, why not nvflash your way back to stock? I did because I couldn't find my HDMI mini cable. I haven't opened my tablet again. I'm going to try to RMA it.
try to nvflash stock rom and start over? that would your best chance....

Well first of all i don't know how to use NVflash, and secondly i have a B70 transformer so i don't know if it will work. Also i need to flash the stock Taiwan firmware because that's the original firmware that came with it and i can't find instructions for that. Just wondering though does flashing the stock rom using NVflash also install the stock recovery?
Ok, so my Galaxy S4 GT-I9505 won't boot up. Pretty common situation by what i have read on this and other forums so far but mine seems to behave a little different.
Since I've had the device it sometimes just randomly rebooted without any obvious reason but since it only occured once in a few month i did not investigate this any further.
Yesterday it suddenly got really slow when using some normal apps, nothing special (not like a little slow when the cpu is heavily used, but really really slow) it took about one minute for it to close any app and going back to the home screen etc, everything while still recording my actions so when it became unstuck just doing everything i tried in the meantime really fast, then again blocking. So far so good after a reboot that took 5 minutes (even the boot animation appeared extremely slow and fragmented) everything seemed normal.
Until it just freezed while i tried to make a phone call, during which it never dialed but just displaying the dialing animation, although i could switch back to the home screen and back to the "call" i could not end it or cancel it or anything, the phone behaved normal but the call stayed.
Then i tried rebooting it ...
... now it seems to be a brick, nothing will work it won't start up in any mode neither recovery, nor normal, nor download mode nothing.
After a few hours in the charger (i just left it there) suddenly the (untill then black) screen displayed the charging animation, when i tried to boot it then it just went back to a black screen.
After another hour it just started vibrating out of nowhere (and just stopped when i removed the battery).
Thats it, do you have any ideas on that ?
Some other info on the phone :
- rooted stock rom Android 4.4.2 from Vodafone
- tried adb, odin, but no connection to any pc possible at the moment
You have a faulty battery or some other damaged hardware.
Try to see if it boots with an other battery, if that fails then you have hardware damage.

Oh, well I'm sorry I forgot to update the status here.
So I followed the instructions here and bought a new battery, unfortunately the problems didn't disappear.
As the S4 wasn't usable I sent it in to the repair service, which replaced the faulty electronic parts (the Mainboard as I guess). The defect was covered by the warranty in my case.
I don't know how I could help you here, in case the repair might not be covered by your warranty I would try replacing the battery.

I'm posting there because I have some doubts about my phone and i'd like some answers from you.
1 month ago, I was charging my phone. When it reached 100% battery, It was fine but the problem is when I was trying to press "power" to turn it on but It didn't want to. So, I removed the battery because I couldn't even turn it off. When I tried to restart it again, it didn't want to. No reaction to the "power" button.
I followed EVERY tips on Google but none worked. I also tried to change my battery but nothing. I tried also to connect it to my computer, it was detected but my phone didn't turn on.
So, I guess my phone is dead unless if there is a solution to make it working? Also before that, my phone was becoming very laggy and when it had a small lag, it was turning off and was rebooting.

—If the phone is charged, seeing nothing but blackness, but you still see an emitting LED light on the top-left corner, that's a sign that it still works, just not the screen. So I would suggest that you buy a new screen and replace it with your old one. If you think you can't, then go to a phone repair shop and let others do the repairing.

3rd claim: The motherboard is dead

—The motherboard might be dead if these are happening, but I don't think this is the right reason unless the first two conclusions are proven to be true. If the first two conclusions are proven to be false, then the motherboard is dead, and you may either buy another Note 4 motherboard or get a new phone.

To answer you clearly about all the points you clarified, there is no led light appearing when putting it on charge and I also tried the "Youtube comment" but nothing.
So I think, the motherboard is dead as you mentioned. I just don't understand how it died after a charge but as I saw on Google, it's a general problem on Galaxy Note 4, so I think i'm not surprised at all. It's been since 2015 I had it.
Thank you for your time and to have solved my doubts about the death about my phone.

Put in cold fridge for 30 min without battery, then try to turn it on. If not, try the cardboard method under the emmc chip (search youtube)

I did the oven trick on my n910t. I left my phone stuck in the grill of my truck when I changed the brakes. I took it for a test drive and ended up running over the phone. Me being a noob at the time didn't know the AT&T Note 4 would not unlock Bootloader for custom roms or custom recoveries. I purchased the AT&T Note and was sorely disappointed there after. Flash 2019 I still have the motherboard for my note that I ran over. I can only get in to go into download mode and only when it was plugged in. I flash custom ROM or custom recovery and it would say would pass but it would just boot loop and boot loop. So I read somewhere where you can put it in the oven for around 5 to 6 minutes at about 200° and that it would settle any of the cracked solder that be around the emmc or anywhere else on the board. So I tried it. I stuck it in two different times at five minutes a piece, pull the board out and let it set for a day. I installed the board just a little while ago and she fired right up. It's amazing
I've recently replaced the motherboard on my N910F with a used one bought from AliExpress. As it's used I've no idea how long it will last but for £30 was worth a try.
It was pretty straightforward replacing the motherboard using one of the tear down guides on YouTube.
