Hi guys. I want to get this table, but first of all i want to make sure this has best Sound quality with the headphones(i don't care about the speakers). How does it compare with Galaxy S3 in terms of sound quality ??
I do own a galaxy S3 and a Nexus 10. The sound quality of S3 is awesome specially with the Siah kernel. The sound with the same headphones is good but not at par with the S3.
There are some MODs you can flash to improve the stock sound, like the ACID Audio Engine: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1923630
I think the dac isn't enabled good by niw with alsamixer you can do a lot of mods to get it working i don't know what switching this does but for me it sounds better for you it can sound the same and it is maybe a placebo but we have a wolfsondac so maybe is supercurio compiling voodoosound for us
Sent from my Nexus 10 using xda app-developers app
Edit: on gnex we also have some sort of audiomode with high performance sound
guys, i see many kernel faux123 sound control. What would be the real advantage of it? Just increase the volume?

It allows you to adjust audio gain and mic gain I think (Not sure about the mic). This allows you to get cleaner audio output out of the headphone jack. I'm not sure what else it does besides that and volume boost, I have not tried it myself.
EDIT: I just tried using it and it's amazing. Audio is louder, much clearer, and generally awesome. It does work with the mic too. The improvements in audio quality are stunning, I don't know how to describe how big the difference was for me. I use Shure SE215 IEMs with my Nexus 4, and it sounds better then anything I have plugged them into now, whereas before my Surface outputted far better audio IMO.
Hi,
Some reviews say it's decent, some say very bad.
Can someone really tell me how it is? Is it good if you're driving the car?
Thank you!
(Personal opinion) Its not very loud but it gives a nice sound, a kernel patch to boost volume will be great. Its better and louder then the Nexus 4 for sure.
Pretty good imo. With a little bass even
comparable with an iphone 4s - nothing special good and nothing special bad imho. For hands-free-talking more than sufficient, for music forget it
not for audiophile, but for sure is aceptable for hands free use and for music listening..
personal opinion..
I have one issue, when comes new notification (Whatsapp, Mail, etc...) the sound is distortioned, only the first notification. Like if at sound activation causes this. Anyone with this issue???

The speaker is average at best and nothing to shout about. Fine for some casual radio listening but I wouldn't use it for much else. I just use a bluetooth speaker when I stream music at home
I am wondering about these posts. Perhaps i am not an audio expert but i find the speaker very good. My colleegues at work think the same.
For me the speaker is very bad. too high for me.
The speaker has a good quality bass sound and good volume level, as for me it's great!

Good Morning my XDA homies! I have a quick, and hopefully easy question for you all. The front facing speakers on my Nexus 6P aren't horrible, but I was wondering what the best Mod would be to make it louder and maintain clean sound? Their are a lot of sound Mods out there, not sure which are working for the Nexus 6P and which might be the best! I don't often play with the various settings, so, I was hoping to find something simple that'd just boost the front speakers, generally speaking. Thank you all for your time and help!
This thing is like a portable boom box. I'd be scared to blow the speakers if they got any louder than stock!

Exactly lol! The difference between 8th and 15th level is just wow....
I was mostly thinking of something that'd ever so slightly, boost how clear the sound is and make it a little louder. But most enhance the sound when I plug it into my car. HTC used to have something that you could just flip on and your done. Equalizers confused me a lot, so I was just hoping the Nexus 6p had an easy solution
Viper Audio.

Can Viper increase the speaker volume during phone calls ? I find the sound much too low during phone calls with my N6P.

Well you can Run a custom kernel like elemental x, and through the app increase volume past stock level. It let's you adjust right side, left side, gain and mic levels all independently.. Or you could install viper. They're both cool.
P.s. the op said they wanted to boost the front facing speakers. I was wondering... Front facing, as opposed to the 6p's rear facing speakers?!

I already use ex kernel and have played with the sound strings in the ex kernel manager app, but it seems to only impact volume through speakers or headset, not the in-call volume

Oh, in call. Well I know some of the early 6p had issues with glue in the speaker cover where the speaker was bonded to the front assembly. People where complaining about low call volume because the glue was blocking the passage.
Use convolver in viper audio with Dolby surround sound.irs. Should amplify speaker volume by 3-4x, although for some reason convolver isn't working on Dirty Unicorns ROM.

I followed all the instructions on that page, but I have played the same song with it activated and deactivated........I don't notice a difference at all. Is their something else that I should be doing?

I used that MOD ever since it came out and it works perfectly for boosting in call volume. Cheers!

Hi all,
I want to know if the audio quality in videos when recording concerts with OnePlus 5 is good. I have OnePlus One and audio quality in concerts videos recorded with the camera is awful: distorted sound which mess the video.
Thanks!

No problem. To me it sounds pretty good and so much better than the OP3, at least in that comparison video anyway
Ps: i haven't received my op5 yet

Not bad at all, even video stabilisation at [email protected] is pretty good in my opinion: consider that, except for the initial right panning, my hand were shaking.

You do realize this is a phone? There is no phone that can record at high volumes. Mics just can't handle that, they're supposed to record human voice at normal volumes.
It will sound good enough if the volume is low enough though. So, no concerts.

Ou yes there is. Lumia models. Like Lumia 1020. Those had HAAC mics that could record very high desibels.
Even OLD Nokia 808 pureview had this.
There are videos on youtube.

This I did not know. Peculiar.
But to be honest, they still sound a bit bad even if the audio isn't clipping. Better than nothing I guess.

This video was recorded with an iPhone last month https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=zPmLWTNgt7A
First row in the concert so the highest volume. What do you think about sound quality? Compare it with Oneplus One sound quality: it really sucks in Oneplus One. And I wanted to know if Oneplus 5 sound quality is good or not.

And yes, One was totally unusable at concerts.
I was drumming all day yesterday, OP5 up close to the set while belting out some hard hitting fills. No distortion whatsoever, you could even hear the other instruments in the background clearly.

@partisano here's a video i've recorded recently (4k eis).
The sound quality is not that great, but i've seen phones with worse audio..
Another one @ 1080p60
The last one @ 4k eis
It seems the sound quality actually is bad.. (but still not the worse I've heard)

No problem. I am also disappointed by the sound quality, i've expected more.. but this is not a decision factor for me.
All in one, i like the device (i am coming from a galaxy s7)
