Hi All,
I am using LG G2 international version from past 20 days. From the day one, I have one problem with this phone and unfortunately I am unable to re-produce the same with exact steps. My phone is not responsive sometimes, stuck, and getting re-started. It happened so many time and I could see at least 5 to 10 times in a day. I am basic user, just using few apps like facebook, subway surfers, fruit ninja, Skype, temple run, flipboard, swiftkey, whatsapp...The problem started even without installing these apps. Other than this problem, phone is working perfectly
Phone is not responsive when a received a call --- observed couple of times
Subway Surfers - while playing the game, phone stuck and restarted - observed two times
Just moving between screens and going to thru settings, etc, stuck & restarted -- observed many times
When I complete sending message (normal messenger) and clicking back button / After completing call and returning back --- stuck and restart --- observed many times
Some times, re-start it self happens twice. I am fed up with this phone, really disappointed to see a phone worth of 35 K INR behaves like this. Unfortunately I am unable to reproduce the issue, but it is happening very frequently.
I have tried removing lock screen and turning of animation scale off - no use
the seller who sold me this phone (flipkart) is not willing to replace this device and I don't have time to go to service center to fix the problem as I have traveling to US this weekend.
If any one you are facing similar problem and if there is any fix, pls help.
Regards,
Siva

Hi all
Like all HD folks, I suffer from the occasional 3-5 second lag when using the stylus or touching the screen repeatedly (makes playing arkenoid and other games very frustrating).
After installing the hotfix, it caused the much lamented problem for me of adding a terrible lag to the phone. whenever i receive a call, the other party cannot hear me for 4-5 seconds after answering the phone.
So what do I do? Do I live without the fix ? I really can't see a way to live with the CRAZY phone lag.
I have emailed HTC (2 weeks ago - twice, still no response) but I might aswell be emailing my labrador.
What do I do?
I personally have the HTC Arrive, and have NO problems whatsoever...great phone.
My wife on the other hand opted for the 1 cent LG Quantum/Optimus 7. She had a bunch of problems, mostly because we were sharing a Zune account. Then, she got her own account. There were a few problems that continued after this. She called AT&T and they sent her a replacement phone. The problems continued....
Issue 1
Phone will freeze while trying to slide the unlock screen. Have to remove the battery and restart. This happens 1-2 times a day.
Issue 2
Music will stop. Time will change back 24 hours (change the date) and time will change to 20 minutes earlier.
Anyone have any solutions?
This is an early problem with the first revisions of the Optimus 7 boards. There were many cases of freezing and restarting that could only be solved with a replacement of the mainboard. I recommend getting another replacement, as there are, as of now, no firmware updates you can apply.
freezing msm
I hate to dredge up an ANCIENT thread, but my optimus freezes too. Currently it only freezes when i recieve a text message - it's slightly annoying though, as I have to return to the unlock screen to un-freeze it.
is there a fix for this?
Hi!
I feel like i searched nearly the whole internet for an answer, but only very few people seem to have these problems so i found nothing that could help me...
I have 3 really annoying bugs on my Play (locked, not rooted, bought in may):
- It randomly reboots from time to time. I tried to figure out when it happens but it has absolutly no relation to what i do with it. it mostly happens when i'm not using it. so it just lies around doing nothing and suddenly i see the sony ericcson logo on the sreen and it reboots...
- The second bug is: it throws me back to the enter PIN screen. like i never entered the PIN it kills wlan, mobile network etc and waits until i reenter the PIN...
- Third is: the clock stops at random times. it seems that this happens sometimes while in flight mode (i always put it in flight mode during the night because i don't want to be disturbed while sleeping and i use the alarmclock).
I already tried to turn off the automatic time via internet because i thought "perhaps it is irritated when internet is no longer available and then it just stops".
But it also happend while in normal mode with wlan on. in that case the clock only stops for a few minutes and then resumes, resulting in a 5 minutes or so difference to the real time without the phone noticing it (even with automatic time turned on)
I don't expect, that anyone can help me fix this, but it would be interesting to know if anybody else experienced these bugs and if you think its hardware or software related.
I already tried getting a warranty replacement. I sent the phone back to amazon, but they have an own mobile phone repair department and, surprise, none of the bugs occured while they tested it. So i got it back with: Sorry nothing found phone works fine....
I would be glad for any sort of advice.
I'm experiencing the random reboots. I believe it has something to do with a software issue on the Sony end. I'm about to check their site now. I'll report back if i find anything.
EDIT: Just finished a chat support session, and in his official capacity he instructed me to either take it to Verizon, or to ship it to their evaluation/repair center. Big load of help. :\

Can you please PM me with more details on your random reboots? I'd be interested to know what applications you were running at the time, signal strength, battery level, and any other details that could help me troubleshoot your issue.
So.. Story begins..
I bought my S8 a few months back.. Worked flawlessly (Stateside).. Then I came overseas and the problems began.. I requested my service to be suspended by Verizon and after doing so my phone began to freak out.. I don't know for sure if this is the cause but having just received my replacement device and experiencing the exact same issue. Could it be possible?
Issue: No matter what I am doing on the phone it will freeze for a split second then appears to refresh.. For example.. If I am typing an email, as I am writing my keyboard locks up and the phone becomes unusable then it jumps to the top of the app and then I can continue .. It is SOOOO frustrating because for example.. SnapChat: While I am writing and the screen freezes and refreshes, I lose everything I wrote.. If I'm scrolling through Facebook .. It jumps back to the top..This became more frequent and even more annoying! Even if I am in the settings menu scrolled all the way to the bottom.. it freezes for a second and then jumps to the top of the app.. So.. I began removing apps I thought could be the cause of the problem.. I cleared the cache on the phone as well as the apps, reset settings, removed/re-added Google accounts, even tried some developer options to scale down the graphics, background processes etc.. No avail.. I finally caved in and contacted Verizon who put me in touch with TechCoach app to remote in a see the issue for themselves.. All the troubleshooting steps they walked me through, I had already done.. So they sent me a replacement.. I set the new phone up, installed the software updates, just a few apps to test and sure enough same issue! Then I wiped the phone again.. didn't install any software updates, I left it bare bones and even set the phone up as new (no restore from Google)... So as I am writing this TechCoach wants to send me yet another replacement device.. But I'm certain the "Certified Like-New" S8 they send me will end up doing the same thing.. What it appears to be to me (No expert here) is that once I came overseas and suspended my line.. There's some service/app that is trying to push/pull over network data and since it's unable to do so it's causing the phone to glitch? I mean I really can't think of any other reason this could be happening .. Furthermore, I tried different Wi-Fi connections, changed performance modes, disabled many "enhanced features" ... Any ideas/suggestions greatly appreciated while I wait for the replacement device.... Thanks XDA!
Update:
Verizon had to reactivate my line before they could send a replacement... So I asked the rep to keep my line active to see if the issue persists.. Would you believe it worked flawless as it did when I first bought it without issues.. So my theory was right!!! Some service running in the background is attempting to refresh without connectivity.. I'm now going through every system app to disable and test ... more to follow!
Hi
With help from this forum I upgraded my Chinese Axon 7 to Build A2017V3.0.0B17 back in the autumn. It's now on Build A2017V3.0.0B23. I think it did that update a month or so back.
Anyway for some weeks, which I don't think coincided with the update (but it may have done), I have apps freezing on startup. E.g. Uber splash screen comes up and sometimes it goes to the next (white) screen before it freezes, and sometimes not. In Chrome I have a number of tabs, sometimes it starts properly and opens them all and sometimes it freezes before it's opened them. (With Chrome , if I keep closing it down and restarting eventually it works). There are lots of apps like this, although there are also lots which are still working OK.
So last night I took the plunge and set it back to factory. Iv'e been reluctant to do this because I am on such a steep learning curve on rebuilding phones and I wasn't sure what it might do.
The outcome was that it reset just fine, still on B23, and so I started putting back my apps. Only to find I still have the issue.
So... should I put it back to B17 and see what happens, or can anyone advise anything else to look at before I do?
Thanks
Oh well, over the weekend I took the plunge. I used EDL method to put on A2017G onto my A2017 phone. It took a couple of attempts, and I think I have one or two outstanding gremlins, but by and large the phone seems at least as good as before. I need to check out making and receiving calls - tested it once with my partner and all was fine but a later call seemed to conncct but nothing heard by me. Using it as a phone is a small part if it's existence but it's important.
I have got back some of the Google stuff which didn't work after the last update, like Timeline.
However I don't seem able to get back into FTM mode or to get my PC to recognise the phone any more (except as a disk device) so I guess next time round I'll have to splash out on a new phone...
