Didn't exactly get a fix but I found out how to boot back into the recovery which allowed me to restore a backup. Just hold down the VOLUME DOWN + POWER until you see the LG logo and then hold down the same button combination until you're into recovery.

I am not getting that error. I had that problem before, but this is totally different. I get LG red screen then I get this error:

and then this keep happening. I can go in to firmware update. Nothing much. I tried to use LG g2 stock guide, but no luck either.
When I thought I bricked mine I tried using this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2432476
Its tricky but it worked for me when I couldn't get past bootloader. All you need to be able to do is get into download mode.
Just FYI don't ever take OTAs after flashing custom ROM. They never seem to turn out well.

Bricked in a weird way
I think I bricked my phone in a similar way except I can't get into download mode or anything the only thing I can do is go into the hardware control mode and the factory reset mode when I try to factory reset it scrolls on the top right something about boot certification then it disappears and i get a black backlit screen and can do nothing

Hey sorry to hear. I went to reset screen I guess by pressing vol down button (Search online because I was keep pressing combination, so don't know exact combo. Press power button to continue and it will take to recovery screen for TWRP. Then install recovery from back up. Mine started working fine.

[Q] Stuck in Bootloop with CM11

So I'm rooted with TWRP loki and had CM 11 on and running for a while. I just downloaded the latest nightly through CM OS and it asked to be rebooted.
Upon rebooting to TWRP and installing the update it then just kept on trying to reboot with the CM logo. I cannot get the power and volume keys to boot it to recovery and my computer won't recognize it in this state to boot into recovery.
Any ideas??!! Please! I don't know of any way to restore it.

I had to take the back off and manually unplug the battery to turn it off. Then I tried the button combinations posted *power and V down* when LG logo comes on repeat to get to wipe screen. However, the phone did not go to the wipe screen, it just rebooted again.
If I could get it to boot to recovery I'd be golden.

Error due to low batter. I'll have to see if I can charge it without it wanting to turn on. However, it looks promising -- after three times trying I got the utility to recognize the device at least!
Either way, I appreciate the assistance.

G2 bricked won't boot past LG

Hey guys I just got another one of these damn G2s
Anyway, got root fine on 12b and had issues trying to push the twrp recovery image to it, it kept failing for some reason. So I tried the Flashify option... and as you can tell by the thread title it worked excellently. And by excellently I mean I'm bricked.
I can get into download mode. But it won't boot past the LG logo. All I get is a black screen. Can someone help me revert to stock and get twrp installed?
Thanks:laugh: I'm using an S4 right now so no rush.
Also I'm a little illiterate on Android so take is slow and dumb it down- I don't develop and I don't code, I just enjoy other people's work as a casual user.

Try holding volume down + power
Immediately when LG appears let go of both and ONLY hold onto power, should boot into option to factory reset
Hit power button 3 times to continue.
Tried that. It processes the reset and then immediately tries to reboot, and bootloops again.

WHen your g2 is powered off just hold volumeup and connect to a PC. If it doesn't go past the blue dots then you can't enter download mode either.

The white screen where you can hard reset the phone? Yes.. I can get into it, but accepting the reset simply puts the phone back into a boot cycle.
