W-what? Before my dev edition?
Uhhhh... did all the nexus devices get 4.4 yet? If not well I guess that means the Moto X is getting update almost as fast as they are.

Nope, nexus 4 has a factory image online, but no ota yet.

They technically all got the 4.4 update just most haven't gotten ota yet. The n4 forum is starting to boil lol

has anyone tried Moto Device Manager to see if they can pull this update?
While I'm not complaining, thats a little odd.

Motorola site says began pushing it out as nov 2013
What the? Verizon first? Come on tmobile..
I just switched to sprint for free and sold my us cellular moto x to pay the early termination, im now the proud owner of a moto x on sprint with unlimited data, I was paying so many overages with data as I use it to tether my surface pro. When sprint gets the update can I just unlock bootloader and flash su.zip since the sprint version is available for bootloader unlock?
wtf? Before the gsm unlocked and Dev editions. That too on useless Verizon. What's wrong with the world today?

There is no direct causative evidence pointing to the fact that the NDA was broken and if that was why the soak test was cancelled. However, yes, the soak seems to have been cancelled.
It is plausible that the test was cancelled so that they could begin the general rollout instead; which, if true, is actually a good move by Motorola. I don't see why anyone should be angry that the soak is cancelled in light of the news of the general rollout. Once we have our hands on the update file, we can ADB sideload and profit!

Wow. Some people really will complain about anything. The retail VZW version of the Moto X is the only one that can't be running 4.4 already; Every other one already has a ROM or images or whatever.
Here it is!

Downloading mine too!
This is mind-boggling.
1. It's Verizon
2. It's before several Nexus devices
3. It's before Dev editions
Well, Hope that means my AT&T will be getting it's update soon....
Check for updates, mine is downloading as we speak.. no im not in the soak or any of that
Edit: Download complete, and update is installing.

Is this a bounty for something to come or a donation for something already developed but yet to be released?

As much as you think it'd be good to donate--Jcase said in his Twitter he doesn't plan on publishing anything new for the MotoX. Kinda bummed out. I can't not have root.

Since the MotoX on VZW is the first carrier OTA of Kit Kat you guys are the test case. If you're not familiar with -dm verity you need to be.

My phone is finally getting delivered today...almost a week after i placed my order. I hope it doesnt come with 4.4 already loaded on it as it shipped last night. Want to root.

Well whatever the case is, @jcase along with any and all developers we should ALL contribute to the development (developers) of Android. If the man has figured out how to root kitkat and chooses to not release it without getting a bounty out of it, then that's up to him. None of us have any room to get upset about it. Put me down for $30 if you release it @jcase. Thanks for all you've done for us so far!!!

Too bad he won't be publishing it.
So anyone else miffed that everyone but us has the update? I am amazed that Verizon got it first. Sprint is usually pretty good about timely updates.

Us cellular is still waiting as well. I'm guessing Motorola is going it one carrier at a time each business daddy so hopefully we are tomorrow.

Yeah can't forget USC...I'm back on stock unlocked boot loader waiting for it...within the week I'm sure we'll all have it.

I'm not miffed yet. It's been less than a week since Verizon got the update. I'll start getting annoyed if it takes more than two weeks after the Verizon roll out.
The weekend probably stopped them from releasing any more updates for different carriers. If Monday comes and goes without another Moto X update then I would worry.

Yea, that's definitely a perk of being on Sprint or T-Mobile.
Still waiting here on Claro Brazil aswell. I think we use the same version than Rogers, so I'm waiting for that.

Take a nap, relax, go to beach, make a trip, go to university cause Kitkat for us Brazillian will be released in the same time that Motomaker will: NEVER. Its a damn shame this.

Very hard to believe seeing as how Verizon was on it, next day T-Mobile gets updated and where is Sprint at?? The Sprint Galaxy Nexus was updated before any carrier, which was awesome but now the Moto X update to Kit Kat, not a word any where. I so wish my contract with Sprint was up because after being a 16 year Sprint customer, I am ready to jump ship with these fools. The network gets worse and worse everyday, it seems. It should not take this long for our Moto Xs to be updated!
Why are people still on sprint? It's no cheaper than any other carrier, and it has the worst signal. I get if you're stuck in a contract, but there are some that willingly sign a new one with them.
Could be Moto holding the update until a bug fixer is available for the rest of us. There are some bugs in Kit Kat that need attention.
Dude, US Cellular doesn't have it either... Doesn't matter how much we try. When it comes it comes.

If you really want to get involved with participating previews of the update you have to join the Motorola Forums... Here's a link to help. (Must go back to stock if rooted. I believe stock unlocked boot loader is fine too) link: https://forums.motorola.com/posts/77d4221775 Joining this though and participating involves rules like here. Fightclub rule number 1? Some people are experiencing hissing noises during calls that seems to only affect Sprint Moto Xs; other carrier Xs don't seem to have the issue and other phones in the same area of service for Sprint also don't exhibit this issue. This could also be a source for the delay.

Like the title states, I was wondering if there is any progress on unlocking the bootloader. I am okay with the way things are, but I would love to run CM11. I appreciate all the work devs do around here. I am just curious to know if anyone is still working on the bootloader, and if there is any progress.
nope. no update that is.. not sure if anyone is working on it behind the scenes with newer devices out there
Sole reason I will never buy a Samsung device on Verizon ever again.

Sunshine worked on the Ultra/Maxx up to 4.4.3 but 4.4.4 is locked down tight, that includes the Turbo and Moto X 2014 as well. The options moving forward are HTC, LG (still able to "unlock" by downgrading firmware) or dropping the $$$ on a dev edition Samsung or the N6.
