So anyone else miffed that everyone but us has the update? I am amazed that Verizon got it first. Sprint is usually pretty good about timely updates.

I'm not miffed yet. It's been less than a week since Verizon got the update. I'll start getting annoyed if it takes more than two weeks after the Verizon roll out.
The weekend probably stopped them from releasing any more updates for different carriers. If Monday comes and goes without another Moto X update then I would worry.

Yea, that's definitely a perk of being on Sprint or T-Mobile.
Still waiting here on Claro Brazil aswell. I think we use the same version than Rogers, so I'm waiting for that.

What the? Verizon first? Come on tmobile..
I just switched to sprint for free and sold my us cellular moto x to pay the early termination, im now the proud owner of a moto x on sprint with unlimited data, I was paying so many overages with data as I use it to tether my surface pro. There is no direct causative evidence pointing to the fact that the NDA was broken and if that was why the soak test was cancelled. However, yes, the soak seems to have been cancelled.
It is plausible that the test was cancelled so that they could begin the general rollout instead; which, if true, is actually a good move by Motorola. I don't see why anyone should be angry that the soak is cancelled in light of the news of the general rollout. Once we have our hands on the update file, we can ADB sideload and profit!

Very hard to believe seeing as how Verizon was on it, next day T-Mobile gets updated and where is Sprint at?? The Sprint Galaxy Nexus was updated before any carrier, which was awesome but now the Moto X update to Kit Kat, not a word any where. I so wish my contract with Sprint was up because after being a 16 year Sprint customer, I am ready to jump ship with these fools. The network gets worse and worse everyday, it seems. It should not take this long for our Moto Xs to be updated!
Why are people still on sprint? It's no cheaper than any other carrier, and it has the worst signal. I get if you're stuck in a contract, but there are some that willingly sign a new one with them.
Could be Moto holding the update until a bug fixer is available for the rest of us. There are some bugs in Kit Kat that need attention.
Dude, US Cellular doesn't have it either... Doesn't matter how much we try. When it comes it comes.

Not directed at me but if I chose moto i'll only be on it until my contract is up in June. I have good Sprint service but I want to go to a GSM carrier and buy unlocked since i'm done with contracts. The intriguing part about Nexus 5 is i could use it on Sprint and then take it elsewhere when my contract is up. Moto X brings innovation though. The X2 would definitely be my next phone.

Is it? I asked the sales rep about that and they said an update would be released when SPARK went live in the area. If that's incorrect, then I suppose the N5 might be a better bet if you're looking to acquire SPARK functionality sooner.

I will defer to those with more insider information than I. I've found the Moto X to be speedier than my GS3 in the Houston area, so while SPARK would be nice, I can't say it makes me regret purchasing this phone if it will not be compatible. So far I've been very pleasantly surprised at how much I'm liking it.

on sprint, chose the MotoX because it feels much better in hand. Hardware and software working VERY well together in this little device. The nexus 5 looked great, but I am not one to do any or much flashing or tinkering with phones. I wanted a phone that worked, and the MotoX fits that bill the best IMO. I also got it for 1 cent on Amazon for upgrade, so that was awesome.

I just tried to flash that but it said an error about it was meant for ghost devices.
How is everyone liking the screen size with the soft keys? I was messing around with a co-workers and I didn't love the screen size. I have a N5 and was thinking about getting my wife the Moto X, she currently has the Sprint SII and I don't want to downgrade her screen size. I know I am used to the N5 screen so maybe her going from SII to Moto X won't be so bad.

I got it by placing the flashable zip posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2452246 into my sd card, tried to flash it via stock recovery, getting an error message, and finally rebooting my phone and hitting the system update button and finally getting it.

Just came here to check on this. Is there any info on if there will be a VZW Dev Edition? I assume price is $550 for 32gb version, which is a pretty penny but will be worth it.
Most likely will come out same time as unlocked version right? Sept 25th rumored?

Well, that's discouraging. I really hope they reconsider that decision.
I hope that information is wrong, total bummer if true.
The only real reason I need an unlocked bootloader is to tether (for free). I have unlimited and I use my hotspot to run my tablet a LOT.
Come'on Verizon!
man hold on..let the roll out start before we jump to conclusion about no VZW Dev edition.. there is no way they wont offer one. they made money this way last time. i bought at the damn 700 dollar range first day offered.

I found this though, but it might just be the unlocked version I posted about at the beginning
http://phandroid.com/2014/09/05/bootloader-unlocked-moto-x-2nd-gen-2014/
What did they say about the first generation developers edition when It was first announced? I'm hoping they are just giving Verizon a month or so head start with the standard version before releasing one. The first Google+ thread did mention that it was just "at this time".
I think Justin case unlocked the boot loader on the original X, maybe it will work for this one too
The newest bootloader on the original MX has yet to be broken, but I have saw talk of the firmware before the last update being include on Sunshine that @jcase created. Hopefully he will get a Verizon model when It is released.
