The camera on this phone gets really blurry with the slightest of movement and sometimes on the Intelligent auto mode it looks as if the photo has been painted or is a cartoon
Is there a better faster camera app or is the camera just bad on this phone?

Is there any way to take a photo using the volume keys on the phone?
There seems to be no easy way to take self portraits using the stock camera app.
I don't want that to sound weird but I just want to take pictures of me and the kids and I've suddenly realised how difficult it is to do it with the stock app!
Even a 5 second delayed shutter would be fine..

You do realize there is a front facing camera, don't you?
Try out an app called Camera JB+ Looks just like stock and has what you're asking for.

Lol, yeah I walked right into that one!
I tried the front camera but the quality was not great!
Camera JB+ looks nice but doesn't have HDR or PhotoSphere modes!

Install the cyanogenmod cam. There you have delayed shutter, voice shutter, Hdr and you can take photos by pressing the power button. But it don't have photosphere. There are zips available on xda where you have both cams.

What settings do you have on your phone? Do you have anti shake on or off and what metering do you use?

I use anti shake function cos the picutures is more sharpness...center metering...and i still testing my S4 camera. Im not satisfied with the sharpness of the pictures, the S3 have better camera i think (for now)
Another question to ask is are you using an i9500 or i9505? I believe they use different sensor?
I have i9505 and camera in normal lighting is awesome. A little grainy in low light but not as bad as the camera in my HTC legend.
Anti-shake on here, not sure if there is any significant advantage.

I have it off and get much better pictures. Anti shake off and night mode off.

Hi all... are there any plans to improve the camera at all on the note iii? I heard somewhere that they were going to improve macro focus to some degree. I just find that I can't take pics of anything moving unless we are outside in brilliant sunlight. Even sports mode isn't a big help. Tripod helps.. but it's still blurry to some degree.
When I do get a shot just right it's amazing. Clarity is something else with this camera when you mail or just right.

I'm not sure. I feel you about them low light/fast moving pictures. But like you said, with the right amount of light, the Note 3 takes gorgeous pictures!

I've had this phone a couple of days and taking outside or inside photos near a window is a nightmare! Photos have a bad blur around the window or outside! Maybe it's just me but I'm really not impressed with it! Photos look a bit misty! Is it me or is it this camera?

with your fingers?
maybe you've left the stock transparent sticker on your lens...
btw even dslr cameras struggle in taking clear pictures without good polarizing filter glass on the lens... so...
being a dslr camera owner - g2 has one of the best cameras i've seen on the mobile device... i was stunned with the image quality, sharpness and color...
if you're rooted and have custom recovery - try xdabbeb's camera mod
Thinking it could be the lens cover!!! If so might just sell it lol

which just gave me an idea to try to shoot some photos with and without the polarizing filter from my dslr camera (duct taped of course )
Yeah I understand that but as I say if any daylight hits anywhere on my photo it gets misty I think if could be the lens cover

Hi Again
I caved in an bought another g2 to see if my blurred pictures were a hardware fault or just due to a crappy g2 camera, looks like my new g2 takes pictures of simular quality to my s4
Sorry to say but sounds like your g2 camera module needs replacing or the phone itself.
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Free mobile app
This was my old g2 with the same pic. I think the glass scratches on the lens had something to do with it.
Sent from my LG-D802 using XDA Free mobile app
Although, i still think the s4 is crisper and cleaner (but a bit dimmer) at indoor shots with incandescent lighting.

And increase the noise to unbearable levels in the process.......
You're trying to use a sensor that's essentially made from the leftover waste of a sensor plate. You can't expect anything more than crude quality from it. It's normal.

You've both got it set to Auto mode? Because that way the phone decides what settings to use, causing a difference between devices.
