I was wondering if any developer knew how to fake the system version so that the AT&T software update would try and download the update even though the device is already on the most recent version.
My device is on the most recent build (MK2) and rooted. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

What do you mean? All you have to do is backup your phone then Odin back to stock mk2.

I just purchased a atrix and attempted to do the gingerbread update. The phone is on wi-fi and it just says downloading and hasn't moved. Any help would be nice. Not sure if i'm gonna keep the phone at this rate but thanks for any help.
Could you please tell us what carrier your phone is from? And what version of Android is currently on the phone? You can find this in Settings > About Phone under Android version. Also, your System version may help too.
Att, Android version 2.2.2, system version 4.1.83.mb860.att.en.us
Hi, please help me.
I was wondering, whether do we get OTA updates after rooting the phone ?
If a rooted device does not get OTA updates, does unrooting it help to get them back?
I *think* you can only manually update to a developer version once you have rooted. Could be wrong though.
Install Developer ROM

Download and install Developer ROM for your device model from the official MIUI website.
Developer ROM is pre-rooted and gets OTA updates almost weekly.
yes developer rom to be installed ......
if u like root permissions and want to have ota updates as well
where can one get the developer version?
I'm Rooted, So I can't update via System Update on my phone...
I tried Samsung kies 3 and even it's up to date software It's still saying that my firmware is the latest...
but I don't think It's latest because many of us had recent update on 4.4.4 and sammobile upload some updates for 4.4.4 recently.
I don't know how to update it manually using Odin and I don't know where I could find my specific file to update my phone...
here's my screenshot of my "About Device", I think this could help to track my firmware on sammobile though I don't know how to read it and search for the file...
Please help... I want an update at least for 4.4.4 and It might be a little help for my phone to run smoothly than before...
Thanks in advance...

Use ODIN to flash stock rom
So currently my software version is at G892USQU1AQJ7 at Android 7.0. I'm assuming by the apps pre-installed (Caller ID, My Sprint Launcher) that my phone is a Sprint version of SM-G892U.
Since I can't get updates in NZ normally I'll have to update using Odin v3.11.1
I want to at least get to Android 8.0 so if I'm correct updating one by one the sequence would be from
AQJ7 -> AQL1 -> ARA2 -> ARC1 -> BRC5
Is this correct? Should I be using this version of Odin or not?
If there's already an S8 Active update guide out there somewhere that I've missed it would greatly help or if someone has already done this too. Thanks.

3.13.1 I believe is the newest and for firmware samobile or updato.com
I have been on the hunt and sure many others have as well been trying to find the firmware flash files for AT&T's latest update to the SM-G950U S8 Variant if you know where i could get these files or have it on hand it would be greatly appreciated so i can get my phone flashed back to its original state before it had gone through this crashed update that has made my phone bootloop and not accept anything but the latest updated firmware file.
The firmware file version i am looking for is:
SM-G950USQS7DTB1
