So currently my software version is at G892USQU1AQJ7 at Android 7.0. I'm assuming by the apps pre-installed (Caller ID, My Sprint Launcher) that my phone is a Sprint version of SM-G892U.
Since I can't get updates in NZ normally I'll have to update using Odin v3.11.1
I want to at least get to Android 8.0 so if I'm correct updating one by one the sequence would be from
AQJ7 -> AQL1 -> ARA2 -> ARC1 -> BRC5
Is this correct? Should I be using this version of Odin or not?
If there's already an S8 Active update guide out there somewhere that I've missed it would greatly help or if someone has already done this too. Thanks.

Hi guyz
I have purchased Galaxy S7 Edge SM-G935P but the i guess Tmobile firmware is currently installed. Is there anyway to confirm this.
Further, I want to upgrade to Android 8.0 but whenever I tap on system updates in settings it does not respond. I tried to update it with Samsung smart switch but it does not show any update.
Please suggest me a way to update my phone to android 8.0 without unlocking bootloader and rooting.
Thanks

Use Odin, i had this issue with my UK S7 edge BTU, download the 8.0 firmware from updato.com or sammobile and flash via Odin, use latest Odin for flashing 8.0.
I updated it but now i am facing connectivity issues.

I updated it but now facing connectivity issues and mobile data not working
Hey guys,
Use odin to update to oreo. After the update goes through its usual process, perform a cache wipe to further ensure a clean install and other temp files during installation. NOTE: For those that can't stand bloat, I bought package disabler pro (it was around 3.50 USD). I checked all bloat ware or apps I didn't use. This will further help battery life from my experience.
When all apps are checked, backspace out of the app and perform a restart on your phone. It will refresh your phone while all apps that were checked off while also be un-installed.
Wordy post yes but info is necessary for your benefit if you choose as such.

Not sure then as using Odin to flash official software is nothing too taxing. As long as you have downloaded the correct firmware for the 935P it should contain the correct bootloader and modem files for your device, possibly master reset through recovery and cache but other than that i cant give you any further advice.

If its not letting you I don't think you can. Just try to get on PC and update through samsung kies.
You can also go on sammobile.com and download the latest software/firmware and ODIN it to your phone. Instructions are right on the website as well as the latest ODIN software.

Correct root=no ota
I dont know what happened but when I check root again after two hours i got this:
so is it any better than the last MM update?
I checked and i dont have OTA marshmallow. .i dont have pc to try with samsung kies
i have installed it on my EUR phone and it flies as a first impression , security patch update august 2018 though. will report battery life later in the week
Can i change something in phone to get update? Why is happening this? Why i dont have update OTA? Does anyone have this problem and how is fixed? My big problem is that i dont have pc..
If your phone is rooted there may be a program that disables the update applications (com.samsung.sdm and com.samsung.sdmviewer if I remember correctly). What applications (other than stock) are on the phone, such as titanium backup, app quarantine, etc.
Now if someone rooted the phone to make it work with your phone network or other software you use this update may disable the phone and/or software requiring root.

I dont have any app in phone that need root for working.
I found and install this SDM but i need a phone to connect with..
can you give ne a little more explanation of this app? What do i need to do when I install it?
I dont have anyone app in phone that need root to work.
Can you give me a litlle more explanation abot this SDM, i found and install it on phone but..i dont know how to use it
Was it not already on the phone? This app automatically checks for OTA updates and downloads them.
You can open settings, scroll all the way down to the 'system' section, click on 'system updates' and then select 'check for updates'. Just make sure you have mobile data connection of some kind. (Cell or Wifi).
SDM should be installed on the phone unless someone specifically removed it. Of course be careful what you download and install. Lots of malicious software out there... If you had the ability to see the 'system update' option in settings, you already had the com.samsung.sdm package and did not need to install anything.
Was this phone sold by your carrier/provider originally or is it one you bought online and was made to work with your carrier/provider?
It is from provider Tmobile.
I give my phone to service provider and pay 10€ and thay put 6.0.1 marshmallow to my phone.
When i get back to my home,I get info that I can update android.
I have download the update, 300mb but when i try to install it,i cant. I get some update error.
Does anyone know what is this update? And how to install it? I have download a couple of times but its always the same. Can not update.
I finally have Marshmallow 6.0.1, but I cant install this next update.

Hi guys,
So I'm wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. I have swapped out my s8 motherboard and the other died. Everything works fine apart from the fact it's on android 7 and every time I check for updates I get the message that the system is currently up to date.
The baseband is g950fxxu1aqc1
And the build number is nrd90m.g950fxxu1aqc1
I'm trying to find what version I can use to update to Android pie 9.
Any.help would be greatly appreciated

If you can't update though software update then you can update through Odin software( PC app ) or by using smart switch app ( PC app )
You can also get firmware through website like sammobile or updato - slow download though
Other choice's are through PC apps like Samfirm or Frija - quicker downloads.

Samsung being Samsung the bootloader/binary ( baseband ) number tends to increase. So if you want the latest firmware the number will be higher than what your is on your phone.ie :nougat to pie
Note: Increasing your baseband number you will not be able to downgrade your firmware version baseband number.

If you want to upgrade yes.
Another note if you are locked to a carrier flashing different firmware will not unlock you from that carrier.
I hate ATT. I hope their stupid company dies soon.
Anyway, I'm trying to flash my ATT S8+ that is running Android 7.0 with Android Pie. I first attempted to use Frija and it said that the ATT "CSC code not supported". I then tried SamFirm and when I input the phone model SM-G955U, it doesn't show the "United States" Region option.
Ideally, I would like to flash my phone with an unbranded Android Pie. What do I do?
UPDATE: I am able to find many different firmware files on SamFrew. However, I still need to know if I can flash an unbranded XAA file from there?
Will it work? And do I need a modded version of Odin to flash? I came across some guy's youtube tutorial that says only to use a modded Odin to flash unbranded firmware on an ATT Samsung phone, but unfortunately his video is from three years ago and so I'm not sure if the modded Odin he's linked to will be compatible and be able to flash the much recent released firmware updates.
UPDATE: Issue resolved. I went ahead and flashed it and it worked.

Hi!
Does anyone know where I can find the T387AAUCS3CUD1 stock ROM? I'm trying to fix a unit that I may have messed up by tinkering with custom ROMs.
Anyone?
Still nothing?
Hi also searching high and low for T387AAUCS3CUD1.
Any success finding it?
Samsung Galaxy Tab A (T387AA) - Software Update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (T387AA) - AT&T
Get Samsung Galaxy Tab A (T387AA) support for the topic: Software Update for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A (T387AA). Find more step-by-step device tutorials on att.com.
www.att.com
ATT is worthless - no support. OTA Android 8 won't update to Android 10. Says already current.
No luck yet :-(
Still no luck.
Someone recently gave me a SM-T387AA, came across this thread while looking for the latest firmware for the device. It does appear that T387AAUCS3CUD1 is the latest for the AA version, which I also was unable to locate. (probably because ATT uses their own servers for firmware instead of samsung) However, while searching, I also came across a newer version of firmware for SM-T387W.
Specifically:
AP VERSION T387WVLS3CVK2
CSC VERSION T387WOYV3CVK2
CSC VTR (Canada)
ANDROID VERSION Q(Android 10)
SIZE 2.62 GB Full Files
MD5 d3b07faf990e6b33b55f5f39839799e4
BUILD DATE 20221114152111
SECURITY PATCH LEVEL 2022-06-01
To my surprise, I flashed the 387W firmware on my 387AA with ODIN and everything seems to be working just fine. Still can't unlock my bootloader though. I see there's also a 387R4 variant. I might try that next, and will report back if I do.
Would this not though prevent a user from being able to use it on AT&T?

I popped in an ATT sim and calls/txt appear to be working.
Oh interesting, I wonder what the difference between the two firmware versions are then?

I used Bifrost. It can pull the latest firmware for most samsung devices that are hosted on samsung servers. Type in the model, "SM-T387W" and the CSC, "VTR", check for update and then download.
