Hi,
I flashed the non-OC version of Kyrillos` ROM because my phone freezed with the other..
Is there a method to overclock my phone or is it gonna freeze anyway?

I had freezing issue's with the BE (whats used in kyrillos's rom, though the version in his rom may be newer) but I didnt have freezing issues with the apocalypse beta3 OC version, so you could try that out if OCing is very important to you
Ok thx.
I'm gonna try the Apocalypse ROM. : )
Just one more question. Do I have to remove my partitions first?

Partitions? No.
I could be wrong, but being a veteran overclocker of desktop CPU's, I know that some processors don't overclock as well as some else might, so one thing you could try is set a lower speed, like 1200mhz. Or start from 667 increasing 100 at a time and running a quadrant each time until It's not stable anymore (eg. freezes).

This has been floating around here too, together with the trying different frequencies (end users cant really try 100 at a time, since they dont change the kernel, only 667 833/866 1000 and 1.3ghz unless other values have been added that i am not aware of). I know I had problems with one OCed kernel (regardless of how much I OCed) but didnt have problems with another, so the OC method might have something to do with it (reverse engineering vs sources or stuff like that). It's usually not that easy (or well documented/something similar that my brain cant verbalize atm) to overclock a phone as it is to overclock a desktop.
Yeah, I know It's nothing like overclocking a desktop CPU, but the bottom line is they're both processors and components that work the same way.
Set the min and max frequency the same, it worked for me

Hi
Download ADB
adb push fs.convert /sdcard/android/data/fugumod/fs.convert
But if you set the same value for min and max your battery life will decrease drammatically....... min frequency is very important when the phone is idle.....
Overclocking got a bit mystic for me I tried the Apocalypse and Kyrillos ROMs with OC. Could not get a stable work from them. Tried changing the frequencies (min and max) and all sort of stuff, but nothing helped. TouchWiz was periodicaly freezing, on big apps like Angry Birds the phone would just hang up and I had to reboot.
Being tired of that, I flashed a stock ROM (being XWJPE for Ukraine), rooted it, and then flashed FuguMod Kernel 2.3. Works fine for me. No freezes, no hang ups, and I didn't have to mess with the frequencies. I suggested anyone who can not get a Custom OC ROM to work properly, to try doing it manualy on a clean stock ROM.
Good luck!
Hi,
sorry to resurrect quite an old post, but i would like to know which (free) app you guys use to manage cpu frequency. I tried some but it was either over-complex or not working decently (not detecting non-extreme frequencies).
I am using kyrillos 5.0 and it looks like my phone is going to 1300 MHz as soon as i ask it anything...
SetCPU is the only one i know^^

Ok, i'll try this one for a few days, thanks !
can anyone help me??? i am using apps2sd mad team..n in settings>sd & phone memory it shows 6.49 gb instead of 7.49..that is because i partioned it...but in titanium backup it shows
internal: 201 MB
SD Card: 6.49gb
sd card(a2sd):219mb
why is this happening ..i have tried several times..everything goes right n i partion the sd card even but cant see it in titanium backup..help would be appreciated...n also do i have to convert..?? i am on indroid 4..and i did not flash any kernel..
I Want make a overlock in my Sg3,but what are the risk?
-Greettings-
crashing more than usual is the main problem i think, lowered cpu life span, possible overheating that can cause more trouble in short-the risks are the same as when OC-ing a pc cpu. I just flashed kyrillos 4.1 OC and everything works fine, faster and smoother and my phone did not melt or caught fire. The clock was 1300MHz but i lowered it to 1066, just to make shure everything goes well.
I see in the market apps whos: cpu master. It is ok to do a overlock?

it won't work without a custom kernel. U need to flash a new rom, Kyrillos and Apocalypse have OC versions but Apocalypse is still in beta version. Once u do that u can overclock, i'd recomend setcpu - if rom developers are recomending it than it has to be good,
You need a kernel with built-in ext4 capability. The custom ROMs mostly have one. If you are running a stock kernel, you must install one, e.g. from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=978823
Hi, what's the best kernel for NAND Desire HD Build?? Rafpigna 1.9OC have overclock issues. What's the best and how to install it?? THANKS!!
Overclock issues like what? I hope you don't think overclocking to 1.9 is safe, or will make your device work properly. If you overclocked to say 1.2/3 You should be okay. If you overclock to anymore than that you're bound to run into problems. If even when you overclock to 1.2/3 and you face issues, or even 1.1, then your HD2 has problems. Either way, the HD2 wasn't meant to get extreme overclocking as it even heats up when it is capped at 1ghz.
@ kailkti..
1.9 is just version number...you can overclock most to to 1536 mhz or something like that..i personally keep it at 1190..its perfectly stable..as for best kernel..two kernels stand out rafpignas and tytung..i would choose tytungs r10 or r9...
yes, 1.9 is version number. Rafpigna's kernel have the event number issue, which cause randomly high cpu usage and lags. With tytung kernel i have reboot loop at htc bootanimation. I use Stock Desire HD Rom by EFyodor.Actually with MDJ's Kernel v10.4OC but have some bugs. Any idea for get working tytung or another good kernel to try??
And at what clock speed do you experience these laggs and what not? As I said, if you experience them at 1.2ghz then your phone has a bad processor, or you need an non undervolted kernel, if it happens when you go above 1.2 ghz then it is expected to have problems since these are not "safe" speeds. If you have it even when at 1ghz then more than likely it's your phone or you again need an non undervolted kernel.
Note however i think you need to clarify on what the "laggs" and "bugs" are that you speak of. Because you have to remember, any sense rom uses up more resources, hence operating more slow than other roms, which might be the cause for your "lagg", which is experienced by anyone who uses sense.
If you are talking, saying random reboots, 1 min lagg, or so and you have not done anything or is running anything, then you might want to look for a kernel which isn't undervolted. If the same still happens, then it is your processor.
Roms with Tytung kernels face bluetooth issues... i have used many 2.3.4 roms with tytung kernals ... can any one suggest any other kernel for sd roms also? I have tried rafpigna also but in that mobile connection is not stable...

Yes, tytung r10 is very good. But i can't install. I have reboot loop at htc logo. How to make it working?

if you were SD i'd suggest the ACA kernel. we've just about figured out the bt issues as far as i can tell now.
here at some point i'll release the updated ACA kernel for full NAND use.
I had try to use Kernel GL_Core v11 uv and R1.9
Kernel GL_Core v11 is better for me
I am using Boyppc desire hd v14

The best combo of kernel and rom is rafpigna 1.8 oc no sense and hyperdroid cm7 2.0.1 @ 1536mhz. It runs great and every single feature works great, as well as EDGE, 3g, bluetooth, tethering. Everything works great. This is the perfect combo. It runs great but typical os optimizations are REQUIRED to having your phone running epically fast. You will need the right nand partitions etc. I experience absolutely no issues what so ever on that combo, I'm not kidding. Everyone seems to be having issues, and I used to be one of them. Install the latest CMW 3.2.??X? and flash ur partitions correctly then install the rom from sd to nand, install 1.8 oc no sense, restart and everything is 100% perfect. I now wish I could alter the oc code of rafpigna's rom. I know it's possible to run faster. My phone doesn't run hot at all, at 1536mhz for hours and hours on end. This phone could handle 1.7-2Ghz with voltage increase, I GUARANTEE IT. It will just take time and patience.
The raf kernel still has the 60mAh bluetooth drain when used in non-sense builds. The best option for kernel is Tytung r10, until charansingh finishes work on the .37 kernel
Hey,
I see a lot of people using CM7 is this really the best one?
Also till how many mhz I can overclock on that one?
Yes Cm7 IS really great, in fact you can customize almost everything, and I really like that feature...
As for overclocking you can overclock I think to max of 768mhz(if I'm wrong somebody please correct me)...maybe you can a little bit more but I think it is kernel related...
Hope it helps,
Best regards

Irrespective of which ROM you choose, it is the kernel which allows (or disallows) you from Overclocking. Till date, there are 2 primary kernels which are available - HCDR.Kernel by Jacob and nFinity by arco, and both OC support upto 768MHz. (I think Deep-Knight has recently developed a new kernel for his ROM, which allows OC upto 600MHz)
Because of this, you can overclock your stock ROM also, if you so wish, by simply flashing a custom kernel.

Hi!
Which kernels can I use for original rom, if I want to overclock? HCDR, or Deep, or what? It will make the phone instable, or not?
Thank You!

You can use any. nFinity MC4 offers more features though, like Smartass Governor. It can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=995301
Else, you can use HCDR Kernel also, if you wish, and decide for yourself which suits you:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=798471
It shouldn't make the phone unstable at all. But, in any case, make a Nandroid Backup beforehand.
Thank You
Well M using hell fire .. Cm7 based ....
Which is stable till 729 Mhz overclock m using max 729 and min 490 (I guess)
Phone is Much faster than before and love playing angry birds
I read all the 2 posts, but Im not sure to change the original slow kernel, for a faster. All have some bugs, battery life, wifi, etc...
I dont know, which could be better for the stock rom, or which could be better than the original.
Anyway, I want to try one of that, but I dont know which.
How can I flash just the kernel? And also back up my programs with titanium, or mybackup?
It clears everything like the rom flashing?
Ok, I made it, its cool, and faster. Thanks for the help.
is the overclocking "app" in standard cm7? Or i must go to market or anything else to download it?

maybe you can search for info on this thread
The CPU of some G3 don't like high Overclocking.
You can flash the NON-OC-Version and after that test some OC-Kernel.
The G3mod-Kernel are very good and available in 4 diff. Versions.
I tried the same rom and it froze after ten or twenty seconds. So i removed it and flashed g3 mod and it was fine until i turned the cpu up to 1400mhz and it froze again. I turned it down to 1300 and it was fine but i got better benchmark results running at 1000mhz. So my results are that my phone will not run at 1400 but anything under is fine.

The ROM is good, you can change the Kernel and straight away dont set it to 1400 or nearby range....When i had 7.0 I installed G3Mod Kernel Ultimate 1.7 and found it very stable and was not hanging (though it may be different for other users)...you can give it a try
I downloaded the oc version wheras i should have downloaded the non oc and then flashed g3. i dont think this applies to al g3s but mine definitly doesent like 1400 but anything else works a treat. But i think il stick to jps with g3 mod cos it seems to be working well for me at 1000mhz
