Best kernel for battery - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
What is the best kernel for G2, battery wise?
I'm using full stock right now, and i'm not that happy with battery. I'm getting like 4h screen time, and phone is working maybe 12h total.
No games etc, just www(H+), sms, few minutes of vice talks.

Well you have a wakelock somewhere keeping your device awake. Dorimanx kernel is probably the best custom kernel.

i've tried to find wakelocks with "wakelock detector", but all looks just fine.
Thx for the info, will try that

I would recommend Dorimanx kernel as well!!
Works good for me and newer version with even better battery life incoming

Dorimanx 1.5 for epic battery

Flashed Dorimanx and alo removed weather widget and battery looks better thx for advice

What are you using? Dorimanx 1.5 or newer (like 1.7)?

newest one - 1.9
Is 1.5 better in that matter?

ZTE Blade Overclocking

How high have you guys gone?
Im stable at 748MHz and 50% AHB Bus, 1hour Angry Birds and no real heat.
Tried 846 but phone locked almost instantly.
Mine isn't that great; 672 max with OC+AHB kernal.
It's good enough to make a positive difference mind
How'syour battery life?
is there a significant difference?
Battery life isn't too bad for me as I'm using SetCPU profiles to moderate the clock frequencies at set battery levels. Overall, I'm getting about a day of good usage
Stable with oc at690+ahb+hui with japanese jellyfish 6

690 seems more stable and still way smoother, also set max to 250 when phone off and power save profile, can take a sec to jump back but defo saved battery.
ROM: jjf v9 btw ;-)

does anyone if it is safe to underclock??
About (122MHz ~ 245MHz)
Probably
It's stable on 122mhz on mine. But it's super slow and laggy. But battery saving

So is it safe???
Or should I just put it to powersave mode??
I heard that it may decrease ur phones battery life. And from others that u need to put it at least to 245MHz so that the system can run!

122mhz works on mine and is very consistent. It never crashed on that frequency. Don't know if it'll work on other phones.
Anyways thanks gonna underclock!!!

I would also say two hundred better safe than sorry
Also battery on mine at eight hundred mega hertz is still eight or nine hours so really its only if you had no charger for longer than that that you would under clock

I've noticed that the battery level is very unstable. For example the LG Optimus 2x's battery level changes every 1% but on the LG-GT540 it changes every 3-10%

I'm craving better battery life. Help!

Currently on stock ROM running the matrix kernel. I can't get more than 2.5hrs of screen on time which I think is pathetic. With my galaxy note 2 I can get 5-6hrs screen on time with same usage.
Any other kernel I should try to improve battery life? I see some people here getting over 4hrs screen on time and I don't see how it's possible on this phone.
Pretty good battery life with Franco kernel. What's your screen brightness and mind if you post a screenshot of your Battery in Settings?
Switch to the CM 10.1 nighties. Getting double what I did on stock, no joke.
Some of my recent battery stats can be found here.
Here are my fine tuned settings, been working on these for a while to get this thing to last haha. BTW: buy Faux123 prj app, its fantastic. Well here goes 486/1.13 on intellidemand, snake charmer on, mpdecision off, -100mv universal UV, CPU eco mode on, GPU at 400 on demand, io at fiops 2048.

Yep CM10 nightly is where its at. Running faux kernel. Check this out. This is with very heavy CPU usage as well.

Stock everything as far as CM goes. Location services running. No stability or other issues experienced yet, just a slew of other features I don't know how I went without.
Is it as fast as stock? I love how fast the phone is stock and wouldn't want to change that.

You should look at Franco kernel thread... 5-6 hours are no problem .
I use 100% brightness and have now 2h screen on time and 44% battery left.

Information like this in not useful at all, at least if you don't tell about your battery life time..... One battery with 2 years old will not have the same performance of another one with 6 months...

Here it is for Aurora 5.0 u18_entropy: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=36291776
There are two different choices V1 and V2, use V1 it has the same entropy values as dzo's kernel. If you are using 5.0 u19 there isn't yet ezet's kernel for it.

You know if you lock your Xperia Z in ur closet and not use it. It will stay on for maybe over 2 days, maybe even more.
My point is that, screen time is what matters. Your screen usage shows 29% so u got just under or above 1 hr screen time. Which my friend isn't really 'spectacular'
Anyways head over to my Battery saving thread to see how you can get more out for your battery. Cheers!
