[GUIDE][HOW TO] Reset Binary Counter

How to get your custom flash count to 0 to return your device for warranty.
I did this on p3110 jellybean 4.2.2
Should work on other versions as well.
Required: Root access, Triangle Away, Odin Mobile , stock recovery image
As you all know, to get root access you need to flash custom recovery which increases your flash counter. But you need root access to to get triangle away to work. If you have custom recovery, every time the device restarts it automatically counts customs flash to 1....
But as you know flashing samsung stuff will not count towards the flash counter
1. Restore your tablet to stock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283598
Now in your freshly stock device:
2. Root your device,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957160
This will increase your custom flash count.
3. Install Triangle away, Odin mobile.
4. Copy stock recovery image onto your device.
5. In Triangle Away, reset flash counter to 0. DO NOT REBOOT your device. At the moment your flash count is 0.
6. In Odin Mobile on your device, flash the stock recovery image. Your device is fully samsungified right now so flash counter will not increase everytime it reboots.
7. Odin mobile will automatically reboot once the flashing is done.
8. Your device will have a boot error which it will fix by itself (happened to me, not to sure it will happen to you)
Check your download mode on your device, it should say:
Custom Binary Download: No
Current Binary: SAMSUNG_OFFICIAL
I attached stock recovery image from Jellybean 4.2.2;
I tested it on Jellybean 4.1.2 it works as well.
Thank You.
Please rename ur thread as [GUIDE][HOW TO] RESET BINARY COUNTER
It seems more friendly and good otherwise people will mistaken u as a noob asking questions in development section seeing ur thread name.
Thanks for the guide.
Good guide. :good:
Can someone post recovery img for p3100, stock 4.1.2?
---------- Post added at 10:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:35 PM ----------
You might forget to mention about unroot .
download rom e.g. from www.samsung-updates.com ; open the *.tar.md5 file and extract the recovery.img from there
If you are on Windows:
You can convert "recovery.img" by using Flashable-Recovery-Converter-P31XX-V1.7 into a flashable zip too (if you want to flash over CWM, PhilZ Touch or TWRP instead of MobileOdin).
Download and ectract trhe zip, put "recovery.img" into the same folder an run the "P31XX-flashable-recovery-converter.bat".

Problem with the partition table

Hi all....
Today i was trying to flash the latest firmware for my i9506 (I9506XXUBNA2).
All flashing went fine...until it reaches the "Hidden" partition.
So....a big FAIL appears.
I was facing the same problem when i flashed the France(Orange) 4.3 firmware but then the problem was solved by flashing Philz recovery and rebooted.
Now it doesn`t work anymore...it gets stuck at booting animation.
Any solution for this?Maybe a .pit file will solve the problem?
Thank you!
Problem solved! It wasn`t the partition table the problem.Even so...Odin still gives "FAIL" error when trying to flash "Hidden" partition.
The main problem when updating to 4.3 is the recovery partion wich is not flashed properly.
So...if you want to update to latest 4.3 (with no errors after booting, like Samsung Keboard FC`ing every 5 seconds) try this firmware, this Odin and this recovery!
So....at first...flast the attached firmware via Odin!
Uncheck the "Auto Reboot" box.
Odin will "FAIL" to flash "HIDDEN" partition!
Don`t worry....just press and keep the power+volume down buttons until the phone reboots again in download mode.
Reset Odin and again, uncheck the "Auto Reboot" box before flashing "recovery.tar.md5"
Flash "recovery.tar.md5" provided here!
After the recovery is flashed, first the boot must be in recovery mode!enter in recovery mode by pressing and keeping volume up and power button.
In recovery mode the phone automatically will flash something on your device!
After that....the phone will reboot!
That`s it!
I don`t know if this method will void the Knox warranty because i already have KNOX WARRANTY VOID : 0x1 so try at your own risk!
Moved here and OP please read the Forum Rules on posting, as this does not belong in the Dev Sections. Thanks
still with "samsung keyboard error"

i've tried your procedure. i still got the keyboard stopped error. i used the odin, rom and recovery you have provided.
have you done re-partition? i havent done re-partition. maybe that could be the reason why i still had that error. do you have other solution for that?

im so sorry to what i have said this procedure doesnt work. this procedure is tested by me and it worked without keyboard error after reboot.

root won't stick
again you saved my ass! my samsung keyboard is now working!
next and only issue left is to make root stick! i downloaded "http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2529064" and flashed via philz touch. i gain root on one boot only.. supersu is fcuked, wont block knox or install su binarys. but all apps gain root access except "es file explorer" which won't enable "root explorer". if i only soft reboot the root sticks.
anyone successfully rooted i9506 4.3?

[Q] I9505 - Soft brick? Only Download mode

Hi guys,
I've got some serious issue with my I9505. It is not booting after downgraden back from a instable custom ROM.
When i try to boot, i see the samsung logo for 1 second and then black screen.
Recovery mode is not working. Samsung logo for 1 second and then black screen.
Download mode is working fine. I can flash a stock rom and odin says PASS. But still not booting.
Download mode says:
Product Name. GT-I9505
Current Binary; Custom
System status; Custom
Knox Kernel Lock; 0x0
Knox Warranty Void; 0x1
CSB-CONFIG-LSB; 0x30

No booting to recovery is not possible. Phone doesn't do anything now..
Weird thing is, i think this has never worked. When phone worked fine, i still needed to boot to recovery via an app. It never worked via the VOLUME UP-MENU-POWER buttons.
My S4 is up and running again on 4.4.2 stock ROM.
Really stupid.. Apparantly my battery wasn't charged enough. I charged it again, reflashed and all was good!
Thanks for your support!

[How-To] Update to G900P_OA6-5.0 and KeepRoot w/Knox(0x0)

**You can begin the following process from any Build/ROM but you must already have Root Access**
**Required** FlashFire - Play BETA - PREVIEW
1. Join the G+ community using the same Google account as you're using for Play on your phone/tablet Here.
2. Sign up to receive the BETA versions from Play Here.
- Use the link provided after sign-up to download the app.
**Caution!**The process below is only for the Sprint G900P S5 Variant! Use on any other device may result in a hardbrick.
Download:
- G900P_OA6_Stock_Rooted_ROM (File removed for safety reasons. See here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=61362280&postcount=94)
Set your screen timeout setting to 10 mins before beginning!
1. Place the ROM onto your device (use either internal or ext-sdcard).
2. Open the FlashFire app and "Agree" to the Terms and Conditions.
3. Press "(+)" twice to bring up the "Actions" menu.
4. Select "Flash Zip or OTA" and locate and select the ROM. Leave "Auto-mount" unchecked under the "Options" menu and press the checkmark to continue.
5. From the main menu Uncheck all options under "EverRoot" and use default "Reboot" settings.
6. Last, press the lightning bolt then "Ok" to begin the flash .
The screen will turn black then display the contents of your system before beginning the flash. FlashFire will pause for about 1 minute while flashing the "system" partition. Once complete your device will reboot and pause on the Sprint splash screen for about 1 - 2 minutes before completely rebooting. Done!
Tip: for blazing fast speed turn off animations from Developer Options and reboot!
Known Issues:
- None!
Notes:
1. This process will not affect your knox warranty flag.
2. The above process will update your Modem, Non-hlos, System, Kernel, Stock Recovery, and Bootloader to OA6.
3. As of 5/7/2015 no need to wipe prior to flashing! The ROM will automatically perform a factory data reset.
4. If you are currently unrooted and on a non-"Towelroot-able" firmware version you must a)downgrade to NE5 using Odin, b)root using Towelroot then proceed with the above process.
reserved
I'm curious to see if this works...unfortnately, i can't try it right now though.
i may attempt this later today. ive been wanting to put other roms on it. so i guess if it does trip knox, thats ok.
Has anyone done this? Success? Failure? I've always read that you can't flash firmware/modem via mobile Odin.
I am currently 4.4.4 and stock unrooted. I have to downgrade to 4.4.2, use towelroot, install Mobile Odin and then I will be able to try this out.
muniz_ri said:
***I initially put this ROM together for a User in another thread who theorized that you can update to Stock, Rooted, OA6 using Mobile Odin while maintaining your knox warranty flag at 0x0. Unfortunately he inadvertantly flashed TWRP before testing this method and tripped his knox warranty flag. I am putting this out there if anyone else that currently has a knox warranty flag of 0x0 is brave enough to try it***
Prerequisites: You can begin this process from any previous Build/ROM but you must already have root and MobileOdin Pro installed.
1. Place the G900P_OA6_100%_Stock_Rooted_ROM onto your ext-sdcard.
2. Using Mobile Odin select the ROM from the OTA/Zip slot.
3. Uncheck "Everoot", "Inject SuperSu", and "Inject Mobile Odin."
4. Select to Reboot to Download Mode then Flash the ROM.
5. Once the Flash is complete and you are in Download Mode flash the G900P_OA6_Stock_Partitions using Odin's PDA slot (AP in Odin v3.09+). Done!
Notes:
1. The above process will update your Modem, Non-hlos, System, Kernel, Stock Recovery, and Bootloader to OA6.

Wait, but I thought flashing an entire previous firmware resulted in hard-bricks because of Knox and its bootloader? I am not willing to try a flash of an old firmware if it risks bricking my device.

Correct, all G900P firmware aboots allow for downgrading to any of them via Odin. As for the above process, even though there is no risk of permanent damage to your device it would help Everyone if someone with enough experience attempt it so that we can get accurate results. There is no point in someone with little experience trying it and doing it incorrectly then reporting back that it did not work.

I can confirm that you guys method totally works! I always thought the process was simple enough but was worried about downgrading after reading about hard-bricks on the forums. I downgraded to stock firmware version G900PVPU1ANE5 and applied towelroot. I then followed your instructions and I am now rooted on OA6 with a 0x0 Knox counter. System status shows custom of course so no chance of an OTA update, but this method is awesome! Thank you!

If you are on any Stock ROM above 4.4.2 and are unrooted, the only way to get rooted and still have Knox 0x0 is to downgrade to 4.4.2, root with Towelroot, and then do your flashes.

You might want to put this in OP so your thread is not filled with questions about how to go from an unrooted Stock Lollipop to a Knox 0x0 rooted Stock Lollipop.
Edit: I can verify that after downgrading from Stock Lollipop to 4.4.2 using the link in my post above does indeed downgrade with Knox still 0x0 as MooreAJr has stated in his post.

n900A (at&t) null imei

Null baseband, imei, etc. Tried flashing with 3 different roms via odin. I cannot connect it into abd mode when powered on, only via odin, otherwise I would try samsung tool pro or samfix.
download mode:
current binary samsung official
system status custom
knox warranty void 0
When booting it shows "custom" at the bottom with an unlocked padlock. despite searching for original firmware. I have flashed back to the nl1 (4.4.2) but I still get the custom logo, even after ticking nand erase and re partition while adding a pit file. Perhaps I should try to downgrade to the NC2 or upgrading to a new original? Does anyone have a link to the newest original? I searched for hrs. This phone has to be one of the least supported models out there. So far I have flahsed: n900aucudnL1, n900aucueoc2, and lastly N900AUCSEOC3_CL4335446_QB11749532_REV03. I have flashed a couple modem files as well.
Flashing a new original probably won't work as this is an efs issue. I thought about rooting and flashing a custom rom since sometimes they can restore the efs. This phone has many steps to root from the posts I found so if there's an update let me know, if not, I'll have to follow suit.
Any helpful ideas on repairing this would be appreciated. Thanks.

What is your build number? If you are on Kitkat you can use towelroot and it doesnt involve alot of steps you load the apk click it and root is installed. Make sure you have busybox installed before installing towelroor. I would then find the correct version of Safestrap recovery.
