Wish I had a captivate to test and perhaps work on it.
Oh well, hopefully smasher will come up with the kernel.

I think the same thing! but we gotta work with what we GOT!!!
Seems like Glitch kernel gets the capacitive buttons fixed (reoriented kernel)
To get past the lockscreen press menu and back.
The two touch is anoying, but everything works. For the most part hold down one finger and use the other one two scroll and click (trackpad like?).
But yah, it works and i can navigate through all the settings and stuff. Can't wait to see how far this goes (data and stuff).
Edit: after screen turns of touch seems to break. rebooting fixes.
Has anyone tried this?

- - - Update - - -
After long time since I've released the last news, I've decided to discontinue this project.
I'm near final high school exams so I don't have the time to dedicate myself on the project and because, after 2+ years, my Nexus S left me with an hardbrick (I've tried applying Unbrickable Mod and replacing the motherboard but no luck).
You can find my last pieces of work on my GitHub account (https://github.com/Matsca09/Ubuntu-Touch-Nexus-S/).
I want to conclude by thanking everyone who tested and used this port and I hope someone else will continue this work to port Ubuntu on this great phone
Thanks again for all,
Matsca09

Hi everyone,
I want to share with you my port of Ubuntu touch for Nexus S.
What works:
Graphics acceleration
Backlight control
Calls (with audio) and SMS
Camera
Wifi
Audio
What doesn't work:
GPS (?, not tested)
3G connection (?, not tested)
Other things maybe
How to install it:
1) Download the base system and the system image from the 'Releases' section of this post.
2) Extract the 'ubuntu' folder from the Ubuntu image zip and copy it into the root of the phone storage.
3) Copy the base system zip into the root of the phone storage.
3) Flash the base system on your phone and reboot.
The TWRP recovery may report an error like "No OS installed" when you reboot/shutdown after flashing the base system: ignore that error.
Releases:
-- 13.10 (stable) --
Suspended -- 12.10 (preview release) --
Base system: DownloadUbuntu image: Download
Enjoy,

Hi everyone,
I want to share with you my port of Ubuntu touch for Nexus S.
For now it's a uncomplete port, most things doesn't work or doesn't work properly.
What works:
Graphics acceleration
Wifi
Calls (but no audio) and SMS
What doesn't work:
Camera
Audio (no sounds at all)
Almost everything xD
The ubuntu image is more like a demo than a preview, most of the apps installed won't work, but it's cool
How to install it:
Download the zip from this post
Unpack it: you'll find 2 zips:
ubuntu.zip -> Contains the Ubuntu touch image
ubuntu-crespo-flash.zip -> Contains the base system
Unpack ubuntu.zip and move the 'ubuntu' folder into the root of sd card
Flash ubuntu-crespo-flash.zip with your recovery
At the beginning it may be a bit slow, but later it'll work smoothly
Download:

Its a good thing I did a search because I was just about to post this too. Looks like they already started the daily updates, the 27th just got released. I am assuming its just like the first release and we just flash both zips to install it. Sounds like its not the initial preview that was released the first day so it might be more functional. Who knows, not sure if I want to risk it right now.

I really don't want to make flashable ZIPs every day, but I might as well. I'll make a nightly section today or tomorrow, but I'm really only going to do Maguro for now.

Just wondering, but on the daily downloads page there are zip files similar to the ones that I used to flash when it was first release. Can these be flashed in the same manor? Also notice that one of the them is a zip.md5sum file, assuming that one would need to be renamed to just .zip in order to flash. Not sure, I sent in an email to Ubuntu to clarify because there download instruction page does not talk about the zip files.

They're meant for the Ubuntu phablet-flash as far as I know. You need the IMG file, and that's not exactly flashable in CWM or TWRP right now.

Anyone want to start a thread or wiki who can keep track of changes that people notice. What apps are showing, what works, etc? Maybe a "change log" of changes noticed throughout past week or since the first dailies, if we have enough room. I would do this myself, but do not have the time to backup, flash, document, reload backup, update thread, etc.
But simply if i download quantal-preinstalled-armel+maguro.zip of the day and phablet.zip wouldnt it be enought to flash ubuntu?

I read on the Ubuntu-Touch mailing list that change logs will be implemented next work week (Mar 4th-8th) for the daily builds.
Thanks for that. I flashed the initial Developer Preview and then flashed a slightly newer build from this past Monday/Tuesday. Didn't notice any obvious differences. A change log would be really helpful.

The ROM works great, the Performance control crashes and the first boot when google syncs/downloads the apps you have had synced with google didn't work for me(don't know if it's just me or all the devices), BUT downloading from Play Store works fine. These are probably the only bugs for now, will update when a new bug appears, btw nice rom I love it!

Hi all, first of all I would like to know who the device maintainer is for cm... Secondly, this being a xxxhdpi device wouldn't it be better to use the custom cm/caf xxxhdpi dalvic heap and hwui heap files. Thirdly what's the go with the ever so slow boot animation that's really got my thinking maybe cm isn't really setup properly for this device yet

Compile it with the Muppet proprietary files and all works fine. CM is open source and anyone is allowed to make a build.
Well I compiled aosp from straight source using the muppets blobs, cm kernel and aosp angler device tree with a couple additions to allowed inline kernel building.. Boots fine but no radio, baseband unknown
Been compiling CM using TheMuppets for quite some time.
CM on N6P has its fair share of bugs since the first day. I'm annoyed by the fact that many of them aren't touched in 5 months of ongoing nightlies (including that slow boot as you said - some of my lower-powered devices boot much faster than my N6P), but now that a snapshot is out there, people should have already submitted reports to JIRA.
Nevertheless, I still think that 1) directly contacting the maintainer would be more effective (though at the cost of the maintainer's privacy) and 2) JIRA should allow bug reports and feature requests for nightly channel.

I have yet to be able to compile a working aosp version for the 6p so I couldn't tell ya. I have gotten cm to work though. I just know that toast on boot is associated with the "your device is corrupt and can't be trusted" warning from DM verity failing. A custom kernel can fix it and SuperSU also can get rid of it.

Just an opinion:
Since Nexus 6P is LTE 2CA enable device ,
any possibility got a setting enable or disable,
or " 4G+ " or " 4G" logo , now all the day showing LTE ,
