Hi.
I have a Motorola Defy with 2.3.6
(45.0.2310.mb526.Asiaretail.en.03)
Taking a look at the camera, lens are red.
I ask friends to look at the camera, and they all say it´s red, burgundy etc.
The software defycolorlens claims it´s green.
How can I be sure which camera do I have?
Thanks
If you install a Gingerbread rom and the cam isn't working you have a green lens defy......
Sent from my MB525 red , froyo 2.2.2 german blurless service.sbf, as stock rom

Cam works fine. Records in VGA 640x480.
Adding some info:
Installed Catlog.
Started Catlog, then camera.
Camera makes that funny noise and turns on.
Get back to Catlog
A lot of Camera entries. None of them seem to say anything about SOC or Bayer.
HELP PLEASE!!!!
search for "jordancamera" in catlog

No log with the letters "jor".
After searching a while, also found a reccomendation to search for the word "cameracommon".
Also, no luck.
Help!.
PS: My phone is in spanish, so i guess some logs may be different. Anyway, it seems to be mostly in english but a few words (some colours in the log) and other spanish users claim to find the word jordancamera or cameracommon in catlog.

I don't understand why people find it so difficult to read the All-in-one Beginners Guide. If you're new here you shouldn't even be posting if you haven't searched first.
The are a few ways to check which Module your Defy has, the best one and more accurate one though, is installing Catlog, starting it up and then start the camera. After starting the camera, go back to Catlog app, pause the logging, and search for "camera". There should be a couple entries, one of them should say either SOC or Bayer.

It clearly says:
Code:
JordanCameraWrapper [I] Detected Bayer Device

Hi.
Thanks for your help.
If you read my second post, you will find out I did read that guide.
As I said, doesn´t work for me. That´s why I´m posting and asking for help.
Thanks for understanding.
I'm trying to upload a video, but the phone I'm using to record is #$%$. (Nokia Lumia)
After reading your post, I added searching "wrapp" in the catlog. A couple entries are named logwrapp.. but no luck with the camera data I need.

First I need an update to the original version ~ 28/12/2011 ~U8800 2.3 Official Update Latest???
or I can do it on this rom-U8800-111 128-CM7 32final install [unoffical]???
A couple of things about the ROM:
- It has all languages Android has.
- I don't have any audio problems (maybe because I'm using ksatta's 2.6.5 kernel or because I have uninstalled DSPManager, try those)
- Bluetooth to work, you have to install patch from first page
-ROM IS FAST, damn, fastest ROM I have ever tried on u8800 so far.... damn!
-You have to install official Gingerbread version first.
-Only bug so far is automatic screen rotation that stop's working after using the device for some time
-There's is a strange keyboard, a chinese market and chinese rootexplorer installed by default (easily removed with TB)

For god sake's can any DEV please say how to make custom roms for DEFY
If you want to know how CM7 needs to be build, check the CM7 wiki and search for 'how to build'. For examples of changes, check review.cyanogenmod.com
This is a complete new build if android (compiled from source). To modify existing build, search google for build prop changes, de-(and re-)compiling apks, res changes...
With miui you can only remove/add apps, translate,... The same things as with a Motorola ROM cause thre source code is closed.
There is no straight forward way. If there was, you get what happens with other devices. A million ROM's with no contribution at all.
You will have to search and learn a lot. If only I had the time

Same as fe atrix but replace olympus with jordan.
The copying of proprietary files doesn't need to be done.
A useful utility for building could be the cm gui (somewhere on xda)
Gui:

(check 2nt post for a better list of needed software then on cm wiki, these need to be installed like 'sudo apt-get instal ...')

Hey guys,
Just got my hands on a Defy Plus, it's running CyanogenMod 9.
Now, the camera on it self is working fine, that is with the app it came with.
Other apps like instagram and camscanner work fine too,
But most apps i try to run, that need a cam (barcode scanners, joke photo makers etc.) just show a blank black screen instead of cam image.
This feels to me like a permissions issue, but being new to this whole smartphone thing, i wouldn't know where to start.
Any insights?
Thanks.
try CM10
it is now more stable an most f the features are working

I could, but it would be a couple of days at least before I could even try. I'm busy making stock roms for the Atrix HD from its fastboots and converting the Xperia Z XXHDPI icons to XHDPI for a rom I'm working on. Might have to test an Atrix HD Miui as well . Once I'm done with that crap I'll give it a shot.
To do it yourself, use a PC a zip manager, and text editor -- 7-Zip & Notepad ++ for Windows, File Roller & Gedit on Linux, Whatever's appropriate on a Mac~
The apps I recommend are the one that I use for doing this and know work properly for what we're doing. DO NOT USE STOCK NOTEPAD OR WORDPAD ON WINDOWS -- YOU'VE BEEN WARNED.
Use Latest Quarx CM10 for Bravo and Latest Defy MIUI
Open Defy Miui
Delete libbayercamera.so, liboemcamera.so, libsoccamera.so
Take any think that says libcamera from Bravo CM10 from /system/lib and put them in Defy Miui zip (libcamera_client.so, libcameraservices.so, libkobecamera.so)#
Go to /system/lib/hw in Defy Miui
Rename any file with jordan to kobe** (gps.jordan.so to gps.kobe.so, camera.jordan.so to camera.kobe.so -- same for the rest)
Open Miui build.prop
Search and Replace works good for this part (CTRL+H with Linux's Gedit)
Replace any jordan with kobe**
Replace any 525\526 with 520*
Replace any Defy with Bravo*
Go to the bottom, set camera to ClassA, 3m, & delete the 2 flash lines
Save build.prop
Go to /system/etc in Defy Miui
Replace mot_ise_imager_cfg.bin
Replace media_profiles.xml
Delete the Defy camera cal files
IF the Miui rom is custom kernel
Go to /system/bootmenu/ in Miui Defy and delete everything. Add in /system/bootmenu from Quarx Bravo CM10%$
Go to /system/lib/modules in Miui Defy and delete everything, replace with Bravo CM10.%
Click to collapse
The only other thing that might need to be done is replacing Miui's /system/lib/libandroid_runtime.so. If it boots and runs you don't have to. If it loops, replace it.
* These can be skipped if you don't mind being branded as a Defy
** These two are mutually exclusive, whatever the value is in build.prop is what the gps.propvalue.so should be in /system/lib/hw -- you'll bootloop if they're different
# Can be skipped if you don't take pictures or would like to use the Defy's libsoccamera.so to take 16:9 848x480 widescreen videos. Its one or the other -- Defy driver with no photo camera but better\widescreen videos or Bravo driver with photo camera but only 4:3 aspect videos.
$ This is to use the Bravo's kernel and ramdisk, if Miui is stock kernel based, ignore this step
% Custom Kernel roms only
~ I've only ran a Mac for 30 minutes, OS 7 or 8, and all I did was make it cuss and say dumb things with the text to speech option. I couldn't wrap my head around a mouse with only 1 clicker :silly:
Funny, the above reads really similar to how you port basically any Defy rom to the Bravo ICS+ and I know I've posted that tutorial before. These same instructions work for GB roms as well, just slightly modify accordingly.
thanks man!!

I'm not. I just have to play with my new toy for a bit.
Good luck with that. I'll help you test if you get it going.
I have my hands full trying to get any Atrix HD ICS rom to work with the AT&T JB kernel. Best I've done so far is getting the Canadian Bell ICS to finish gapps setup and get to the homescreen. Bootloops about a minute after that and I'll get maybe 30 seconds of screen time -- stressing maybe cause it only happened 3 out of 8 tries.. Can't get a logcat or even have the phone recognized over usb. Getting it to a partially working system, even if only for a minute, lets me know that it could possibly fully work.
Highly unstable

How can I make it stable, any idea???
If you can, upload what you're working on and I'll try it out. That'll be easier than asking for logcats and giving you ideas to try.
What gapps did you use? I always use the Defy Minimal gapps.

Hi, greatings.
To bypass a common storage problem, I tried to start using custom ROMs.
I'm having problems with Cyanogenmod 9 and my LG Optimus L3.
I could install it normally, it runs, I can download and run applications, run musics and videos, everything would be ok if not because of one problem: the graphics.
It appears I am using 256 colors system. I can run videos, but their image is very poor quality. The Facebook application standard color, for example, becomed a strong and light blue. And the texts (mainly small texts) and images/icons are really very hard to read/see.
Someone is having the same problem? Should I wait for CM10 or there's some troubleshotting? By the way, where can I find more custom ROMs to this cellphone?
Thanks in advance.
Are You try to install a suxsem kernel?

I've find in here and, different from all the kernels I saw, it appears to have no issues with the wi-fi, and it may fix my blurred screen issue. However, will I can restore to the default kernel by using a ClockworkMod backup? Or the kernel will still the same?
Thank you.

Use the kernel by gellmar, which is based on suxsem's kernel, but with many other fixes.

e400-gellmar-mod-v1.3b (big lockscreen circle): http://sendfile.su/805287
Thanks all, it's working well now!
