Similar myself except I'm using Nova pretty much stock - Not a theme fan either.
Nova, Apex, TSF Shell, KK Launcher, Go Launcher, all can fulfill your request. (No need Root)
Nova Launcher Prime
TSF Shell
KK Launcher
Go Launcher Prime
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If your phone is root, Stock Launcher + XposedFramework + Unicon - also can change icons. (Required Root)
Stock Launcher
Mod X-Note v8.0 Stock Launcher
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
No theme function launcher like Aviate also can by using XposedFramework + Unicon. (Required Root)
Aviate
I'm using Apex with a 8x6 grid, no margins and Zooper Widgets.
I love nova.

For those who like it minimalistic:
Lightning Launcher (allows to "pin down" widgets which do not get scrolled, and rotate, place widgets over eachother etc.. best homescreen app imo)
and as App drawer / Launcher i use "Appsi Sidebar Launcher".
Check it out:
The clock widget is self-made with UCCW. The Calendar app is Jorte. Added the jorte widgets without background, then added background to all the widgets with uccw again so it looks all the same. (also with the poweramp widget at bottom, the lightning launcher allows to place stuff above eachother..)
Just need to fix that large gap between the 2 task widgets and poweramp.
I got Yahoo weather with small weather notification, Apex set up to 6x5 BBC news and thankfully to apex's Dock 1x1 widgets I was able to create toggles shortcuts. No root.
Btw. Yahoo weather has some awesome weather widgets too.
What's the difference between apex and nova?

Not much really. Better just download them both and check which one suits the best for you.
I'm on Nova with 7x5 icons - they resize auto and I think I chose kitkat icons... (been a few changes over the past 3 - 4 days. Also using Omega 6 so have a few Wannam Xposed settings to smooth my experience.
Next Launcher 3D Shell is best.
try yourself !
GO launcher prime, def the best there's not really any competition out there imho
I keep trying Nova (with Prime) but I always end up going back to stock. It's not that I don't like Nova but with stock my battery drain is as low as 1% but goes up to 3% with Nova for some reason.
Epic launcher is copy of nova, but it resembles KitKat better. That's what I'm using right now.

Been looking a ADW over @ modaco!
Now we've got 2.1, anyone here tried Launcherpro?
I've tried both.
Launcher Pro is very slick however you are stuck with 4 x 4 icons as far as I can tell.
ADW you can put more icons on the screen and can also lock it into portrait by using the persistence option, so that's what I use now (even though I'd previously paid for Launcher Pro on my last phone, d'oh).
Been messing with ADW over the last hour, I've got so much more screen space, i'm not sure what to do with it all
Also sorted my fancy widget, which 2.1 really screwed up.

I've tried ADW after reading this and it looks like it has real potential but I have a daft question. How do you add icons to the desktop? I've tried dragging them from the drawer as per the stock launcher but they just disappear and I've tried creating shortcuts but that just seems to launch the app.
Toute, if holding your finger on the screen and choosing shortcut -then application-then choose app- launches the app then some thing is wrong and I recommend reinstalling adw
It should work in the same way as the standard launcher, except dragging from the app menu-which has never worked for me

When in ADW in landscape look to the right side of screen you should see a vertical bar with two shortcut icons and what looks like a grid.
Tap the grid this will launch the ADW app drawer (black backround etc) scroll to the app you want then just tap it.
This is an awesome bit of kit, it's like have two phones, trying to set it up so i've got the Dell launcher for work and ADW for play. Sought of 'SPAS-12' with pump or auto.

Thanks Checkbox, that's pretty much the same as the drop down drawer, neither is too convenient when you have loads of apps. Besides, I've got 5 screens to play with, it would be criminal not to fill them all up with my most used apps. I can separate them by type this way too, general/work/games/photography/technical etc.

There is an option in settings to disable the dock bar completely.
That is all i noticed.
Yeah,
Latest ADW launcher EX updates just made a complete mess of my 'hubs' style homescreens setup. I'm really pissed off.
Even if they have reverted the option to disable the now-unified dock bar with the .56 update, I still have my vertically arranged 'simple text' icons shifted-off to the right (leaving a wastelando of screen realstate to the left of the tab) and the ones I had on the right hand side are completely gone! Damn!
To top that, I had a toggle icon on my homescreen linked to the "Show/Hide ActionBar" ADW action ...and that option is now completely gone! My icon does nothing and I don't find a way to hide the top action bar where the access to the ADW settings is, for example.

Bind the Show/Hide to swipe up our down and you should be good. Also, you can readd the shortcut as a custom shortcut to launcher actions.
After you do all that just to get back to the way it used to work what benefit do you get from updating to the latest version?

I've tried to set up a wallpaper but it is cropped very bad, I can see only the upper side. I've tried MultiPicture Live Wallpaper but it makes the tablet a bit laggy. Is there a way to set a wallpaper that looks good on AdwLauncher EX?
I wish there was a third-party launcher that didn't feel like it was ported from a phone version. I like the built in google search and app drawer in the stock launcher and I'd really just like to be able to change the number of home screens.

Wow, I didn't realize ADW made the wallpaper look so different. Maybe try setting the wallpaper with another gallery app like quickpic? There's also a non-market app that's designed to set the Tab's wallpaper without hacking off the edges like the stock gallery does, but I forget what it's called.

Mastering Huawei Home LauncherHauwei Home has more features than your average stock launcher. I'm going to show you some of the best ways to customize and get the most out of this launcher.
Wallpaper
There are a few additional settings you can mess with when picking your wallpaper. Press and hold your homescreen and choose wallpaper. Here you'll be able to adjust the blurriness of your wallpaper as well as choose weather or not it's scrollable.
Enable "Shake to Change Wallpaper" in your display settings.

App Drawer
Be default, EMUI doesn't have an app drawer. All of the apps are stored on pages of your homesceen. There is an easy way to fix this. You can fit up to five icons in your quick launch menu. We will use the center icon as our app drawer shortcut. Download App Drawer from the Play store and drag the shortcut to the center slot.
Themes
For themes, you have four stock options to choose from. Themes can also be imported from the Play store or other external sources. Check out Stockify to change your icons to the stock Android look.
Transitions
Change the animations when scrolling through your homescreen pages by pressing the homescreen and choosing "Transitions". There are eight different animations to choose from.
Home Layout
Change your app grid by adjusting your home layout. Press and hold on your homescreen and choose "more options". You can choose between 4x5 5x4 or 5x5.
That app drawer app is great, but I prefer a 3rd party launcher if possible

I used to have a stock Android phone (Nexus 4) and now I have an Honor 7 with EMUI. I was thinking about "stockifying" my Honor but I gave a chance to the EMUI and the truth is that I really start to like.
The app drawer in particular makes me more consciente of the apps I have so I keep my phone clean and without "one-time used apps" that just get my memory full.
But I understand why people can dislike it. But that's the good thing in Android, if you don't like it, you can change it (at least most of the things....)

I'm not sure what you mean by widget fonts, but you can adjust the overall size of the widgets with nova Launcher settings. Set desktop grid numbers higher and it will then allow you to resize the widgets in more ways than the stock Nova settings. Also long pressing on widget will allow you to select padding which sometimes slightly changes the overall widget size. Last of all use the "sub-grid" option to allow even more adjustment sizes. Hope I'm understanding your issue correctly and maybe these suggestions will help you achieve your goal!
Cheers.

Weeeeeeh, I got myself an s10e a few weeks ago and I was using the stock interface (OneUI, it's AWESOME!!!) but then I got kinda bored of it, so... I was browsing my DA gallery searching for an old setup that I made a few years back, and I had this tought: "What if I recreate my 1st setup ever made on Android on my current phone???", and guess what?
I'M IN LOVE WITH THE RESULTS!!!
You can find my 1st Android setup here: https://www.deviantart.com/kimba/art/Nexus-4-28-12-2013-422773780
The new setup (the same as this post) can be found here: https://www.deviantart.com/kimba/art/back2zero-804887134
Device: Samsung s10e (SM-G970F).
Rom: Stock (Android 9, June security patch).
Kernel: Stock.Launcher: Nova Launcher 6.1.11
Theme: Stock theme (with Material icons, found on the Samsung theme store for free).
Widget: The ol' trusty Another Widget.
Icons: Click UI.
Wallpaper: Stock 3+ PA wallpaper (can be found on my DA post)
Apps: Vivid N.G. (with immersive mode to hide the navbar) + Substratum lite/synergy (in order to make substratum themes work on the s10e) + YORU Status Bar Icons.
I hope you like it!!! :3
