This latest update completely re-arranged my dock/icons/folder groups.
I tried to do a restore and it made things worse. Any way to revert to the old version?

If you're rooted and did a backup using titanium backup you can restore it otherwise you can hunt it down via Google search.

There is an option in settings to disable the dock bar completely.
That is all i noticed.
Yeah,
Latest ADW launcher EX updates just made a complete mess of my 'hubs' style homescreens setup. I'm really pissed off.
Even if they have reverted the option to disable the now-unified dock bar with the .56 update, I still have my vertically arranged 'simple text' icons shifted-off to the right (leaving a wastelando of screen realstate to the left of the tab) and the ones I had on the right hand side are completely gone! Damn!
To top that, I had a toggle icon on my homescreen linked to the "Show/Hide ActionBar" ADW action ...and that option is now completely gone! My icon does nothing and I don't find a way to hide the top action bar where the access to the ADW settings is, for example.

Bind the Show/Hide to swipe up our down and you should be good. Also, you can readd the shortcut as a custom shortcut to launcher actions.
After you do all that just to get back to the way it used to work what benefit do you get from updating to the latest version?
re: settings button
with the latest update, it's all ok apart from the settings button that it useless - here's the screen shot

That is when you hide the toolbar and your custom menu in adwex is not hidden. If you try to hide some of the custom menu, in my case- I leave 3 items, that setting/menu will still show but useless.. try it and see.
I've tried to set up a wallpaper but it is cropped very bad, I can see only the upper side. I've tried MultiPicture Live Wallpaper but it makes the tablet a bit laggy. Is there a way to set a wallpaper that looks good on AdwLauncher EX?
I wish there was a third-party launcher that didn't feel like it was ported from a phone version. I like the built in google search and app drawer in the stock launcher and I'd really just like to be able to change the number of home screens.

Wow, I didn't realize ADW made the wallpaper look so different. Maybe try setting the wallpaper with another gallery app like quickpic? There's also a non-market app that's designed to set the Tab's wallpaper without hacking off the edges like the stock gallery does, but I forget what it's called.

I'm at work now and don't remember the exact setting, but I'm definitey using multiwallpaper layout with MultiPicture Live Wallpaper on my ADW-launcher EX based homscreeens. Everything is ok adfter I tweaked the ADW settings a bit and managed to understand how the multi wallpaper app works.
The above thread was a great help for me.

I just switched from sense to Launcher Pro Beta, and I must say that it is amazing... It's just so much more predictable and useful, not to mention faster and smoother. On top of that, from what I have heard, it is great for battery life, just switched so I haven't had a chance to test that out yet.
If you haven't given it a shot yet, download it from the market and try it out, I promise you will not regret it. Its MUCH better than sense. I never had a problem with sense, but I just figured Id try something new, and it paid off...
P.S Does anybody know if the new software patch that came out today will be included in any of the developers roms? I'm not to sure how that stuff works.
ADW.Launcher is also a worthy alternative, imo. Very customizable.

There should be an updated DamageControl out tonight built off the OTA.
And yes, LauncherPro is definitely the best launcher that I've used! I love it!
I downloaded this from the market to try it out but it doesn't look like anything has changed. How do I switch to it and possibly back?

Press the Home key, and you should get an option to select between HTC Sense, Launcher, and LauncherPro. If that doesn't work, just download Home Switcher from the Market.

I loved the extra speed and how the shortcuts were laid out. I also liked that you didnt have to have the writing under each icon. BUT I missed my full screen calendar, toggle widgets, etc. So Im back to sense. I dont have access to these when using a different launcher. Am I doing something wrong?

You can't use HTC widgets outside of the Sense launcher. However, there are replacement widgets in the Market for almost everything you are missing. For example, Pure Grid Calendar Widget and Weather & Toggle Widgets.

I played around with it after that post, but just couldnt get it how I wanted it AGAIN. So Im back to sense haha. I really need 6 icons on the dock at the bottom to avoid extra icons on my home screen. I also wanted a 4G toggle to match the rest, and that doesnt seem to be out. The only one out (that I could find) is a light bulb..

You know with LauncherPro you can change it to 5 rows of icons (20 total) on the screen at once, right? You can potentially have 28 more slots than with Sense.

Im talking about JUST the dock at the bottom. Not shortcuts added to the screen itself. Right now I have the rosie bar at the bottom that launches my app drawer/phone/etc. Then I have 4 icons above it. Handcent, Gmail, Internet and People. With LauncherPro I can have all 4 of those on the dock, but then the 5th spot is taken by either the app drawer or phone. I want both. I know you can do the scroll thing, but its not the same. I just like a simple look and wanted everything I have now on my HOME screen.
Here is the setup now. I want all of the same access on the home screen, and it cant be done with LauncerPro. 5 short cuts on the dock and then a random widget on the screen just wouldnt look as clean.

ADW.Launcher works pretty good.
A few things I like:
- You can make as many columns and rows of Icons as you want per screen (up to 8 x 8, so that would be 64 icons per screen).
- Swipe down anywhere on a screen to make the top bar come down
Been looking a ADW over @ modaco!
Now we've got 2.1, anyone here tried Launcherpro?
I've tried both.
Launcher Pro is very slick however you are stuck with 4 x 4 icons as far as I can tell.
ADW you can put more icons on the screen and can also lock it into portrait by using the persistence option, so that's what I use now (even though I'd previously paid for Launcher Pro on my last phone, d'oh).
Been messing with ADW over the last hour, I've got so much more screen space, i'm not sure what to do with it all
Also sorted my fancy widget, which 2.1 really screwed up.

I've tried ADW after reading this and it looks like it has real potential but I have a daft question. How do you add icons to the desktop? I've tried dragging them from the drawer as per the stock launcher but they just disappear and I've tried creating shortcuts but that just seems to launch the app.
Toute, if holding your finger on the screen and choosing shortcut -then application-then choose app- launches the app then some thing is wrong and I recommend reinstalling adw
It should work in the same way as the standard launcher, except dragging from the app menu-which has never worked for me

When in ADW in landscape look to the right side of screen you should see a vertical bar with two shortcut icons and what looks like a grid.
Tap the grid this will launch the ADW app drawer (black backround etc) scroll to the app you want then just tap it.
This is an awesome bit of kit, it's like have two phones, trying to set it up so i've got the Dell launcher for work and ADW for play. Sought of 'SPAS-12' with pump or auto.

Thanks Checkbox, that's pretty much the same as the drop down drawer, neither is too convenient when you have loads of apps. Besides, I've got 5 screens to play with, it would be criminal not to fill them all up with my most used apps. I can separate them by type this way too, general/work/games/photography/technical etc.

Not so awesome under Stage UI. The icons are not spaced correctly. The icons show up in groups of four and don't look like it flows like the Multicon homepage shows. Also there's wasted space between Fancy Widget and the Multicon icons.

Updated to ADW latest github
I hacked up ADW launcher to have a MIUI'sih dock. It's nothing special but I kinda dig it so i figured id dump it here to share. I'm pretty sure it will only work in portrait mode because i never use landscape i didn't bother modding that source.
Thanks to Anderweb for having such a great open source project!
Thanks to Jrizzill for having such great icons!
- ADWSettings->Main Dock Style->5 Icons has been changed, to have 4 large icons as in pictures below. You must have ADWSettings->UI Settings->Dockbar checked to have swipe gesture open/close app drawer properly.
- Get icons here.
http://www.droidforums.net/forum/team-d1-miui/88474-miui-themed-icons.html
- To open/close the app drawer, swipe the dock apps.
- To add a MIUI icon to the dock
1) long press, select custom shortcut
2) press pick your activity, press applications, select application
3) click the icon to the left of the "pick your activity" button, navigate to the one you want to use, click ok.
4) drag and drop it into the dock.
- Use desktop visualizer (1x1 small) for other desktop shortcuts.

Does this need root?
Awesome!
There are only a few bugs that I have found.
- For some reason I can't seem to trash anything on the screen :O Drag to the top of the screen and nothing happens, just reappears on the bottom.
- Sometimes when hitting the home button it forgets what apps are in the dock until I open the tray and close it.
Not sure if those have to do with the version that you compiled, or ADW itself. Anyhow not trying to get down on ya, considering this is exactly what I was looking for!
Can't wait for 2.2 MIUI!

don't believe so
For all those out there using blackhole rom's if you are using the embedded ADW then you can't install this for some reason. I had to reinstall a clean rom with TW and then install this APK.
EDIT:
Sorry for the double post
Glad you guys like it. I will try and fix/tweak a few things. Also will try to make it so that it can be installed side by side with stock ADW.
1) haven't had that happen with missing dock apps. try using the old dock implementation, that's the config i'm using? will mess around with it.
2) do you see the trash icon appear at the top of the screen? try and drag it all the way up to the top and drop it there. it works for me.
3) you don't need root, but if you are using some ROM with ADW pre-installed, just remove it from /system/app and drop this apk in there.

Ok. Well you start off by making ADW EX your default launcher. Then go to ADW settings. From there you go to the second set of settings called "UI settings". Here are my settings:
* Main dock - None
* Desktop columns - 7
* Desktop rows - 7
* Hide status bar
* animation effect - 2
That's basically all the settings I changed.
Now go to the market and download:
* Honeycomb Clock Free
* Minimalistic text
* Adw gingerbread icon pack/ADW green icon pack
* Glass widgets
Now you're ready to set up your home page.
You start off with nothing on your page. Them you hold the screen to add a widget. Choose the following Widgets:
* Honey comb clock
* Glass Widgets
You might have to add the 3 glass Widgets that come with the download if you want.
Now, turn your phone into landscape mode and try to resize the Widgets as neatly as you can. Not too big or not too small.
You can resize a widget by holding it and then pressing Edit.
When you're done adding the Widgets, go to your app drawer and select a few apps you want for your homescreen.
I only chose 3:
Phone
Music
Xda
Those are my only apps on the screen.
Now, here is the hard part.
If you want the "apps | +" icon on the corner, you need to make it with the app called Minimalistic text.
You press the screen to add a widget and then you select minimalistic text 1x1.
Then you go to the settings and change the following:
* Unchecked the background so it can be transperant.
* on the Layout section, click on Custom...
Then go back and chose "Custom Layout"
Here you will hold the little boxes one at a time and drag them down untill you see a trash can. You delete all three untilled there is no box to choose.
One your boxes are deleted, press the little green circle to add a box.
Now look at the grey section and click on Misc .
One you click Misc, look for Static text and hold it until you can drag it up back to the space where u once had 3 boxes. Now click on Static Text and a window will pop up where u will enter this:
Apps | +
Once you do that, press ok and go back to the Minimalistic text settings.
Now look for the Text Style and choose "non-accented".
Here you will choose the font color and size:
Sans-Serif
Bold
18 dip
* Now choose color of choice and go back and save.
That is now your icon widget.
Last thing is to go to Google to look for aa Honeycomb wallpaper.
Look for one and customize your homescreen to whatever u want .
If you want to make the "apps" icon to open your app drawer, go to the mmarket and download "advanced app drawer"
Now go to your home and tap on the "apps | +" and you will see a menu.
Go all the way down until you see
"Start another activity"
Check the box and the go to "select activity"
Now look for Advanced app drawer and choose it. Noe save and exit.
Now when u click on "apps | +", your app drawer will open.
If you need help, pm me

Here's my setup. A bit more minimal and classic than yours, but still copping honeycomb.
And of course, i had to throw in the lockscreen for good measure.
Yeah I got the lockscreen too

Have installed adw ex on my Transformer, I love it, except the top row, with the adw icon, adw unlock etc.
Is it possible to remove it, and if so how?

I don't think it's possible.
You'll get use to it. I don't even notice it anymore.
Can someone post a screen of this, I'm curious to what you guys are talking about.

I didn't get used to the intrusive logo or lock desktop icon and message so went back to the stock launcher.

Wtf? Why is there a persistent logo on a launcher?
Jeez ander....
Tried LLP and it works better, but I can't remove the dock on LP. And can't
use swipe up to open appdrawer.
Guess I'll have to write to ADW and ask for a option to remove it.
I have been writingsoftware for ages and that is why I stay away from UX. Cannot please everyone (including me LOL)

This kinda stopped me from using ADW too...it would be nice if 'lock desktop' could be replaced with 'Apps' or any option we like.
I did email the dev about this a while ago when the Transformer came out but the reply sounded like it won't be updated.
Is there another launcher that removes the top row, enable swipe up/down and without or capable to hide the dock?

Try GO Launcher, it has swipe up/down also.
Only thing is it's not in the Market but you can side load it plus it's jsut not as good as ADW EX but that's just my opinion.
On the plus side it has gestures and you can resize widgets like the default launcher
Somebody on the post your home screen page had removed the logo, I wish there was adw that integrated the stock features like holographic, and Google search

Only if we could have ADW + Stock top (with the My Apps and + button)
that would be PERFECT.
From what I've read on the adw thread in the theme forum, the developer is working on being able to get rid of that top adw button and quite possibly even getting rid of that whole upper section too.
I tried Launcher pro and even optimized it but it still didn't feel as smooth and responsive as adw. I honestly think adw is perfect except for that top icon section.

How do I install Go launcher if I cannot find it on market?

Yes it is. It is just a program and CAN be altered.
Missing ADW Settings
Hey all, I think I could live with the bar at the top (although I agree it's a little obnoxious), but I can't get to any of the standard ADW settings. They're just blank. I'm not sure how to take a screenshot or I'd attach it. Any thoughts? Do I need to root my transformer for it to work?

No root needed to use ADW EX launcher.
To take screen shot you can use the native function.
Go into Settings>Screen>Click on the Screenshot box.
Now when you press and hold the Recent Apps key it will take a screenshot.
