Notifications problem - Nexus 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys i got a problem with notifications and i searched online but i did'n find anything so, here i am!
I recently rooted my Nexus 4 and after some time i flashed Faux m31 Kernel, it's great and everything works fine except for notifications: i see them only when i turn on the screen, even after having installed Lightflow notifications. I tried to change various settings, but nothing has changed: i keep not getting notifications.
Trying to phone myself the screen goes on but i don't get vibrations or sounds. Unistalling Lightflow notifications and setting them in the specific apps i got the same result: abslutely nothing. I am on rooted stock rom 4.4.2, ClockworkMod Recovery, Faux m31.
I'd really appreciate any advice!

Vibration not working

Hey guys,
Recently I flashed exynos 5.4 (didn't like it) and I think it made the phone lose the vibration. Specifically the messaging part. I flashed back to stock KG6 but still problem persists I wiped all data, wiped cache and wiped dalvik cache.
However... the phone vibrates when I get phoned
I usually get a vibration notification when I get a message through SMS, whatsapp and MSN (I used mercury, ebuddy and stock IM app)
vibration is set for always on. I checked the app settings and vibration is checked.
Silent mode on/off doesn't matter.
Anyone has an idea what to do?
I don't think it's (fully) broken because vibrating when getting phone is working and you get a slight vibration when you switch to silent mode to let you know that it vibrates when getting phoned or messaged
Maybe it is an app, later in the evening I will do another FULL reset and wait with restoring with backups and just download whatsapp of market and see if it will vibrate. Maybe.. just maybe it's something with my google account. I'll try my old account as well.
Had the same stupid thing
Some app like this fixes it
search for force vibration in the market
i realy hate why for all things we must install some special apps if something goes wrong...use this use that...its android yeah...

[Q] Canadian D803 and Light Manager/Light Flow

I've noticed from other threads that people are able to get LED apps like Light Manager to work on the G2, but it absolutely will not work for me. I'm wondering if it might be a software difference in the Canadian version of the G2 which makes it incompatible.
I've tried Light Manager and Light Flow. I've tried normal modes and alternate modes. I've tried with the notification LED settings on the phone in every combination of on/off and checked/unchecked. I've spent hours fiddling, and Light Manager and Light Flow simply do not manipulate the LED whatsoever. Not even with the test function in the apps.
Anyone with a Canadian variant of the G2 had any luck?
For the record, the default LED settings on the stock ROM behave as expected, so the LED works fine. I've used these apps on several other phones and never had any issues tweaking the LED to my heart's content.
Rogers, stock ROM, rooted, no other tweaks.
Edit: Something else different about this variant is that you cannot specify different LED notifications for individual contacts. When you edit a contact, there is no such option like there is on the US variants.
I'm going to be lazy and paste in a reply I did for the same issue on another board:
For myself, I found that although the native notification LED's worked, that none of the 3rd party apps nor light flow could control the LED. I did a Reset to Factory and then light flow worked for me except for Calendar; and email seemed to want to remain green rather than the colour I set it for.
HOWEVER, before going the Reset to Factory route: one question (possibly to prove a theory) -- did you back up your settings to Google Servers and allow it to restore app data and previously installed apps? I did, when I switched from my Samsung Galaxy S3 to my new LG G2. But before I did my Reset to Factory, I turned those settings off and set everything up from scratch and installed my apps one by one.
My theory is that restoring app data and previously installed apps will work fine when switching from a G2 to another G2 but possibly not from another device. It makes no sense that a Reset to Factory would fix my issue with 3rd party LED notification and light flow; so I wanted to take it one step further rather than find out a reset did not fix the issue because somehow the restoring of data was causing a problem.
Note that turning these settings off does not mean you have to redo your contacts or calendar, those still sync'd over after my Reset to Factory.

I did not look forward to doing a Reset to Factory, I didn't want to redo anything more than the next person but I did want to get light flow working.
I ended up factory resetting and it solved the issue. What a pain.
Thanks!
I was about 80% finished configuring/tweaking my G2 to my liking when I decided to bite the bullet and try the reset to see if it would fix light flow before I got too far.
If I may ask, did you allow the device to restore your settings from Google servers and apps from the Play Store? I just wanted to see if this part is just an unfounded theory or if that made the difference; or if just doing a reset regardless of settings would have worked. Basically, I lost my saved wifi settings but to the best of my knowledge, that was about it -- the really important stuff like contacts and calendar did sync over.
May I also ask if you can get native or light flow to trigger the Calendar LED's, and if your Email LED is green or a colour you chose in light flow?
Thanks!

[Q] Vibration along with Expanded Notifications

Hey Guys,
I just recently got my Nexus 4, and began to do some work on it. I unlocked the bootloader, flashed PhilZ Touch recovery, rooted, and got Xposed framework, all on stock ROM and Kernel. I began to restore all my apps, data, files, etc.. and just finished. But I noticed something that I cant remember if it happened right out of the box: when I proceed to expand my notifications, my device vibrates a short but noticeable vibrate. I have full control over vibration, sound, etc.. elsewhere, except in the notification shade with these expanding notifications. I have gone through ROM settings, Kernel Settings, Gravity Box, etc and cant see if this is something I did or if this is how its always been, and if so, how to disable it. Thanks in advance guys.
Update
Hey Guys,
I tried booting into safe mode and checking, and it seemed that it still happened, although all my Xposed tweaks were still visibly there. This means it isnt an app, but could possibly be GravityBox, Xuimod or tweakbox. I will start disabling these modules to see if it fixes the problems.
Update on Notification Expand/Collapse Vibration
Alright. I made a nandroid to preserve my device in its current state, and proceeded to disable all xposed modules and rebooted. My device continued to vibrate when notifications were expanded/collapsed, and so with all modules disabled, I booted into safe mode to disable all user apps, essentially making my device pure stock. This did not change anything, and I still receive vibrations. Although I did notice that it only happens when I expand/collapse with one finger. When two are used, there is no vibration. I am at a loss of idea's now for trying to fix the one finger expand/collapse vibration. Is this a stock thing? Is it supposed to be like this? Thanks.
Upon further investigation, I can safely conclude that it is a stock "feature". Thanks again everybody.
You know I can't say I ever noticed the vibrate. It's that insignificant why did you go through all that.

I guess its because I just wanted to make sure it wasn't something I did wrong or anything like that. It's my OCD

"unlock s-health" notification

Hi,
I have a s5 with stock samsung root (anj1) and root. Yesterday i set up s-health but now, from time to time or at least every time i reboot the phone, i get the notification "unlock s-health". Anyone knows what this is or how to fix it?
It's annoying because the phone just starts buzzing with the notification out of no where. The notification goes away right after it shows on the status bar and i can open the app with no problems and have updated it to the latest version.
Thanks!
I'm experiencing the same issue after updating the app yesterday.
Do you have root also? I updated the app yesterday also. It probably due to root
Same here.. and I am rooted.
I ended up removing my Samsung account once and for all and simply restored my older S Health titanium backup and got at least some of my old data back..

I had the same problems I had advanced task killer and had to uncheck s health
In advanced task killer app
It actually hasn't been bothering me ever since i posted this, but then again i haven't turned off/on the phone. But s-health still works and doesn't give that warning besides after boot (at least for now)
Have you set a password for s-healt and you have pedometer data in lockscreen? I'm rooted and I use s-healt
If set a password I can't see the pedometer data in lockscreen and I see that notification, after removing password no more notitification.
I didn't set password for s-health, only an unlock pattern for the lockscreen but i used to have that before. I do have shealth on the lock screen and the homescreen widget and they keep counting the steps.
I didn't use to have this notification after booting up before with root, only now with the update
I get it constantly on my note 4
My Note 4 (T-Mobile SM910T) just updated S-Health and I am now seeing this notification as well.
Just tossing it out there for others so we can track this and find a solution (if it is a problem). S-Health still seems to function fine and I am using the pedometer lock screen widget.
I have a note 4. Rooted with stock samsung rom. Using the widget on the home screen and getting these constantly since the last update. Doing my head in as the notifications keep popping up on my gear s all the time.
maybe a fix?
Been noticing this on my rooted i9500 loaded with Note 4 beta 1 rom. I do not need to restart my phone for the notification to appear but i haven't seen the notification ever since i disabled Weather and Pedometer from the Lock screen. Hope this helps.
I'm getting the same notification. It's at random and its pissing me off.
Rooted stock rom on sgn4
Tapped via TapaCrap on my SGN4
Me too, sprint s5, rooted. I probably get it 30 times a day, Samsung needs to fix it, because it didn't happen until s-health did an auto update. Really annoying
Me too , rooted my note4 , updated my shealth and the notification is all the time , aftre the boot and also all the time when my phone on the table at work.
Just updated my s5 to 5.0, so far no annoying notification. Could be an incompatibility issue with older versions on Android.
I still get it most of the time when i reboot(there were a few times i didnt). If you clear it from the notifications and open s health once, it shouldnt bother you anymore. Still, samsung should fix this or maybe they want because it seems to be hapening in rooted phones
Just adding to the list of affected devices
Rooted TMOUS Note Edge
Same problem
Edit: just asked my buddy who also has a note edge, but is not rooted and he does not have this issue
I was having the same issue, I installed "global s heath" module using Xposed Installer and I'm no longer getting the pop up. I've even rebooted several times just to make sure. Hope this helps!

I had this issue only with xposed modules installed.
All of you have Xposed?

Notification light constantly on, tried practically everything (VS980)

For the past two days the notification light hasn't turned off no matter what I do. I used the Light Flow app to figure out the problem, I turned of the led notification light in settings, I've been installed a new ROM and bootloader with a clean install but nothing has worked.
Not only is this a problem but also downloading apps, updates and files in general don't even work without resetting the phone, and ironically notifications now don't even vibrate or make any noise, which I think has to do with the constant light blinking. On a side note Google Play Services doesn't function or sync properly.
This issue has been quite bothersome, especially since the clean wipe and install doesn't solve this issue., although I did backup/restore all of my non-system apps via Titanium Backup.
If anyone could help me figure out the problem I'd greatly appreciate it!
