Please help my GPS - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, I suddenly don't have the thierd option in location settings which was to get location access based on wifi or mobile network. I attatched a screenshot from my phone please help how can I have it back ?

It should automatically use WiFi or mobile data if you turn it on. So that's all the options you need.

You can't disable Google location services on KK easily anymore. Built in and "permanent" on.

How to turn wifi completely off??

Yes am wondering how can i turn wifi completely off??
If i use google maps and then i go back to home ..i can see the wifi widget toggle says that is 'turning off' yet..i had gone to settings and specify for it to be turn off?
I had gone to settings too and specify to only receive data from gps and not wireless (just in case is trying to scan for a wifi router)
so has any body come across this? or has anyone found a solution for this?
It's a bug with the current firmware, when you open google maps the wifi is enabled to help fix your location faster, it doesn't matter if you disabled it in the settings. It seems fixed in newer fw versions.
I noticed the same behaviour on my SGS too, but it's not due to Google Maps.
Everytime when I use the phone, the first few seconds it tries to turn off wifi. I made sure wifi is off everytime I finished using the phone or when I'm not in a wifi zone to save some battery.
This is pretty annoying.

[Q] Mobile data disebled

Hi!
My problem is: I just get a Motorola Flipout, and my first setting was to disable the mobile data. On the top of the home screen (what you can pull down), there are two red arrow. Arrow up/arrow down Mobile data disabled.
How can i hid this message without turn the mobile data on?
Is there a setting what can i turn on, that only wifi sync?
Sorry for my english
Just use an app such as 3G Watchdog (I know that this app is working on the flipout) or just look for another app on the googe play.
this doesnt appear on my flipout
my data is always set off
you can use the widget to turn off
PROBLEM SOLVED!
I downloaded APNdroid.
I let the APN on in the settings, but turn off in the APNdroid, and voila!
Thank you guys!

[Q] Automatic location based Wifi / Data Toggle App ?!

Hey There!
i'm searching for an app that provides me automatic connection settings - based on fav. locations.
For Example:
I'm coming home, the app should disable 2g/3g connection and enable wifi!
Now when i'm leaving the app should turn off wifi an enable data.
I've tested jucie defender and this doesn't work for me. I tested tasker, too. But it is a little bit to much ...
Did you have any suggestions?
Thx.
Try this. Until now i'm satisfied with the tool.

Automatic WiFi

Hey guys I know there's a way to automatically connect and disconnect Wi-Fi I thought it was called Smart Switch but apparently it's not does anyone have any idea what it's called?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935A using Tapatalk
Smart Switch is for moving content between devices.
Smart Network Switch is for automatically moving from WiFi to Mobile Data, in theory without losing ongoing connections.
The Edge Panel "My Places" can be configured to automatically enable/disable WiFi (and other things) based upon your location (location being configured a small number of ways).
There's probably an App to do it another way (like Wi-Fi Matic - which I've never tried - linky).
It took me a minute to find it but if you go into Wi-Fi settings & tap "more" you'll find the smart network switch option.. It used to be under advanced & somehow I was just missing it when I went to the advanced settings

Location selection always changes to GPS, Mobile, Wifi when turning location on

Hello,
Ive noticed each time I turn on my location services/GPS it always switches to the GPS, Mobile network & wifi option. So each time I have to go choose if I only want GPS, or only want mobile/wifi for location. How to do I reset this?
Thanks!
Not sure you can. You have to manually change it each time you fully activate GPS. You could just leave it turned off and turn it on when you actually want it.
