Hello,
I rooted my G2 D802, and installed CWM recovery (after trying to install TWRP, but failing).
Everything seemed to work, until I tried to flash some zip files through CWM.
I get an error, with every zip I tried to flash : "checking if loki-ifying is needed/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc. /by-name/boot needs lokifying. [-] Failed to find function to patch.
Error loki-ifying the boot image."
Little precision : when trying to install TWRP, I had problems with the loki file in a "tmp" folder...
Shoud I try to find a boot image from the D802 on the web and restore it ?
Thanks.
Philz recovery.
Try out philz recovery. It has an auto-lokifying feature.
I'm using it on my d802 since i rooted an have'nt had any issues flashing.

I have TWRP installed and CWM as well but I can only reboot in TWRP even if I flash CWM it will still reboot in TWRP
I tried rebooting in recovery by the volume up+power key but the LG logo just flashes really quick then it reboots normal.
When I try to flash the CWM image using Flashify, it just goes to the black screen and says "fastboot mode started" then I just end up rebooting.
I want to use CWM so I can install Cynogenmod 11 because it doesn't seem to work on TWRP. When I try to install the zip it just says "Error executing binary zip..."
Here's some info about my phone just in case it helps

If you just want to install CM 11, you can do that with the latest version of TWRP (2.6.3.5), which can be found in the CMB Rom thread for T-Mobile Development: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2568732 . You should be able to flash that by putting the zip onto your phone and installing it with your current TWRP.

I can't flash it. It goes into CWM recovery mode and says that fastboot mode started still
Erm so now you have cwm!?
Your better off with the latest twrp anyway. Just fine the latest version for your phone. 2.6.3.2 is no good.
You can have only 1 recovery at a time.

Solved!
I figured it out! I was flashing the zip file of the 2.6.3.2 and that's why it didn't work. I flashed the open recovery image file instead using flashify and I was able to get into TWRP recovery mode from there I installed the latest version of TWRP. At first it failed but that was because I had checked the zip verification box and "use rt formatting" or whatever in the advanced settings. Unchecked them and installed successfully :victory: finally I installed CM 11 and it's great
Thanks for the help flutterguy317!
Hello XDA Developers,
I had a device that was rooted on stock rom and recovery. What happened was that an OTA was installed and it went to the "boot verify certification" screen. I had to install Ubuntu to get TWRP running again.
I'm able to boot into TWRP, and I tried installing different ROMs, using adb sideload, from Stock ROM, ParanoidAndroid, and Madri-ROM.
The first one was able to install, but when I reboot the phone, I get stuck on the LG logo. I wait for an hour and it still does not do anything.
So now I try the other two custom ROMs, and I get an error saying "E:Error executing updater binary in zip "... .zip".
Then it reads "Error flashing zip '... zip'.
My question is: What else can I do to get this phone working again? I would like stock ROM, and preferably stock recovery back (Recovery is secondary).
Thanks in advance,
DaAznMan
Note: When I use adb sideload, the .zip file that gets transferred becomes a file called 'sideload.zip'. Is that correct? If not, what do I need to do to fix it?
I have the Tmobile G2 d801, with the modified rooted stock KitKat Rom posted by dr87. I tried to flash the zip for Philz recovery through twrp 2.7, but rebooting just brought me to the black screen that said something about Fastboot.
I rebooted back into the ROM and tried using Flashify to flash either one with the same result.
Tried flashing the extracted twrp recovery image using Rom Installer only to get a boot certification verify error and had to do a hardware reset to get the phone to boot back into my ROM.
Is there a way to get a recovery back on my device?
Trying to install the zip through twrp manager also results in a boot certification verify error, but I can boot back into the Rom via the hardware buttons. Any advice?
Never mind, I held my breath and tried Autorec, that fixed it
Hi guys, so I recently tried to install a ROM (Bliss) and well TWRP gave me an error saying 'error executing updater binary in zip'. I could not install any other ROM via recovery neither. Google was telling me that other people (on different phones) and they had reflashed their primary ROM and then flashed their new ROM straight after but I have no way to flash something via TWRP at all, so I thought there are two fixes: first, try and install stock ROM via Odin, or change my recovery. Luckily, I found CWM Recovery and my life was saved. Yep!
So I am running TWRP 2.8.6.1 (I think that's my problem) and no matter what I do (I have tried flashing via adb, adb sideload fails, regular flashing, etc...) it won't flash anything besides different bootstacks and the new lollipop rom (and if i flash that then i get the error that system cant be mounted in twrp and that error lingers until i do some weird stuff) i am using the d801. it just gives me an error E:Error executing updater binary in zip So prettymuch i cant flash anything...
Or can anybody tell me how i can downgrade my recovery? Do you think it would be safe to use flashfire?
