I also often have this problem and I find that restarting the phone fixes it till it happens again. I can't find what on earth causes this problem.

I had a problem with the WIFI in my xda stealth for more than one year after upgrading my stealth and further down and upgrding didnot help.....the first problem was the disapperance of WIFI option in wireless manager and this was solved after repeated flashing, BUT THE BIGGEST PROBLEM was that WIFI BUTTON WAS FROZEN and pressing it would do nothing apart from scratching the screen.....FINALLY I FOUND A SOLUTION defrosted the frozen button.....IN your pc with which you are synching go to DEVICE MANAGER and UPDATE DRIVER for your ppc.....then come back and resynch your ppc with pc....the wifi key may smile again.....At least this solved Wifi problem for me and hope it will solve yours......

Another solution is go to control pannel > programs and features> windows mob device centre and press the right key and then repair.....both this and above solutions fixed my wifi key .....

Some Android devices have wifi issues. Not much that you can do.
just wipe it if the date is coming or came out
or send it to the store to fix it..
This is something I noticed recently (a week or two ago?), when I'm connected to a WiFi network my data connection icon won't disappear, like in this image:

I've tried to disable the Smart Network Switch option but it didn't solve it.
Is it a known bug? How can I solve this?
Model: SM-N910F
Android: 5.1.1
I have noticed the same on my phone. I also noticed that when wifi is on the arrows on Mobile Internet up and down will not light anymore. It looks like it is not using the mobile internet

Yeah it's like that for me too, so it's probably related to some update, and it's just a UI thing. Are you running 5.1.1 too?
No still on 5.0.1 for the duos.
i have updated to android N and have a problem with WIFI staying connected to a network or getting message " connected but no internet" i have booted into safe mode and sure enough, wifi stays on, i have tried trial and error process , deleting apps i have installed with no luck. next step was to factory reset, AGAIN wifi connects/disconnects.
i had a similar problem with 6.0.1 , vary slow wifi speeds compared to other devices, had to roll back to 5.1.1
some help would be much appreciated.
Make sure keeping wifi on while sleep is enabled. Also, make sure that aggressive wifi to cellular handover is disabled in developer options

hey guys,
i am on an android 7 custom rom. since upgrading to android nougat, i am not able to connect to my university wifi. however i can perfectly fine log in on an older android version with the same login.
if i enter my login now, i cant even hit the connect button cause its greyed out.
every other network works fine. seems to be an issue with this PEAP one we use at university. i read it somewhere on the web.
any ideas?
thanks!

You may have the wrong vendor.img installed. Update it with the correct one associated to your custom ROM. You should be good to go after.
