Camera problems after screen resolution change - G2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I changed the screen resolution from 480 to 380 and now the camera view is messed up. Looks like the camera does not like the changes. I know I saw a thread awhile back to fix this issue but I cant find the thread! If anyone could please point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated

htc sense resolution problem

Hey guys! Ill try to make myself clear ! Im encountering the following issue:
whenever im trying to use an image as a wallpaper for htc sense it`s been displayed somehow blurry (i guess it doesnt have anything to do with the transparency settings) .
I`ve tried to use the same image for lock screen and sense screen. The result is that in lock screen it looks very sharp and in sense screen its blurry!
Any ideas ?
What dimensions do you use? I noticed the animated ones are 480 x 696...
i didnt care much about the resolution ... i just used to download wallpapers and use them! Eventually, i tried to crop the images to 800/480 but that didnt seem to be a solution!
Are you trying to say that its something similar to that "contact pics thumbnails problem" ?
On a second thought, im encountering the same problem even if i use the stock set of images ! Another thing is that if im using the default ANIMATED wallpapers things seem to be ok ! So the problem occurs only when im using the "weather wallpaper"
Well, if the picture is anything else than the required dimensions (the word "resolution" is actually inaccurate), the system will try to either shrink or magnify it, a process which can cause various artifacts, including the blurry effect you are describing.
I would try an image with the dimensions I quoted in my previous post to see if that looks all right.
thanks! im gonna try now and tell you the result
nothing new ! Still the same problem! Wallpapers in lock mode are displayed correctly, the ones in weather mode are blurry!
Strange... I may try it myself this evening if I have the time.
*update* ... aften another day of "testing" i guess its all because HTC sense. Ive installed SPB mobile shell and things are ok there, so, luckily its not a problem with the display!
It's because HTC Sense compresses the wallpaper into this random format and stores it somewhere...
umm ... and what should i do about it ?

Photo Landscape Fix

Hello All,
I have the latest TMOUS stock rom with a few tweaks and fixes and I've installed the landscape cab and overall, I'm quite happy with it.
That said, I'm wondering if someone could help me with the picture slide when in landscape mode. At the moment, to go to the next picture, you have to swipe vertically and I was hoping there might be a fix so the pictures went horizontally across the phone when in landscape.
Is this just one of the limitations or is there a fix? Thanks in advance.

Navbar buttons offcenter after changing dpi

After changing lcd density to 240 my navbar buttons aren't centered anymore. I've attached a screenshot of the problem.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks in advance!

Well go look in the systemfiles for the navbar settings file and change its alignment to centered or the width of it or reset the dpi. (Why would you even change it?)

Thanks for the fast reply. I changed the dpi because by default everything is much too large and too much of the screen size is being wasted imo.
Where exactly are the settings files for the navigation bar located? I've only edited build.prop before and I'm not familiar with the rest of the files.

I'll be honest with you. If you are not familiar with it you should probably let it be. But if you still want it you might want to take a look at these and probably even flash it.

I'm not quite sure but they should work on android 6 as well. Don't ask S3VEN for Support cause he is not here anymore.

Links are dead and by the look of it all it does is change the size of the icons. Having an altered lcd density would probably still cause the icons to be off center.
Thanks anyway. I'll install xposed and give gravitybox or some other modules a try and report back in case anyone else is also having the same problem.

I don't think that'll help you ... any wallpaper gets zoomed in regardless and it drives me crazy too. I've tried cropping, I've tried apps but I haven't found a solution. I'll keep an eye on this thread maybe someone can help us..

If your desired wallpaper isn't in 9:19 aspect ratio (phone is in portrait mode not landscape), then it will get zoomed in to fit the screen so that it doesn't show black bars. I've used several wallpapers designed specifically for the s10+ and none of them got zoomed it. On the other side, pictures taken with the camera app do get zoomed in as their aspect ratio is 4:3. Hope this helps.
