Hi just got the hdmi out cable and connected it to the TV, everything works fine.
However the wifi seems to drop after 5min of video playback, the wifi is fine if i unplug the hdmi cable.
has anyone ever had this problem?

Just wondered if anyone has had any issues with their tv recognizing their tablet when it's connected to the HDMI port? When I connect to my television, it acts like it's going to recognize it, but then it goes back to a blue screen saying no signal. It worked when I first got the tablet, but now it won't seem to recognize it. When i connect the HDMI, my tablet does recognize that it's connected, although sometimes i have to jiggle it a bit. I'm wondering if it might just be a hardware issue.
The only thing i've done to the tablet is flash a custom rom (Honeylicious), and everything works perfectly. I've connected my DVD player to the same HDMI port, and it works fine.
Mine does the same thing when I first hook up the cable. So I just unplug the cable and put it back in a second time, then it works. Strange but true.

Sometimes I need to boot up with the HDMI already in the tab and TV. Something to do with the handshake between the two.
I watching youtube or playing music with the Q. Sound works.
I turn off the TV.
I turn on the TV. Video or music is playing on screen, but sound doesn't work.
I have to pull the power on the Q or even do a reset to get sound working again.
I'm using the HDMI cable that was included from Google IO and a samsung TV.
Anyone else see this problem?
I also have a question for people that ordered the Q from Google, does the HDMI cable come in the box or is everyone getting a 2nd box that included the special Nexus Q HDMI cable? I thought that was really weird they didn't put the cable in the box.

I don't have this problem sound goes on again as soon as i turn on my Samsung TV again, just tested it right now.
Oh and btw i didn't even get a HDMI cable with mine.. bought it from a dev expecting it to be in the box, but it wasn't there.. and it was BNIB unopened.. he got it at google I/O
i get no sound frequently. sometimes i turn it on and it works fine, using the hdmi cord btw. most of the time i try to use my q i get no sound
whats your setups? i.e. are you using a receiver, optical, hdmi to tv, but is there a tv outputting to somewhere else?
just hdmi cord going from the q to the tv. video plays but no audio. now i cant get it to work at all
using HDMI cable connected to a TV.
no receiver. TV speakers. very simple setup.
I see this issue on both of my Q's, both with the same setup.
now no matter what i try i cannot get any sound. same setup as you. very frustrating. im in canada and bought the q from someone who attended google io. (180$ for an unopened Q!!) the hdmi cord is in hdmi 1. if i switch over to hdmi 2 and back then i have no video too, until i restart the q. wtf am i supposed to do with this thing!!!! lol
Yesterday I bought a micro HDMI to HDMI cable to connect my iconia to my TV. I plugged it in and it worked. I tried doing the same today, but nothing happened, no picture on the TV and no notification on the tablet. Anyone got any ideas about how to fix this issue?
Edit: It looks like you can't use it while charging the tablet.
I have a Tegra Note 7 and I cannot get the sound to work through HDMI. I connect the tablet to the TV using a micro HDMI cable and the video is fine, but there is no audio. Any solutions for this? Tablet is stock and rooted.

That's weird since mine has always worked fine, and there weren't any special settings to change or anything. I will say that the micro-HDMI port is kinda awful, and if the cable is wiggled at all, the signal cuts out, sometimes just the audio. You may want to troubleshoot by trying another cable and seeing if you have the same problem as well as trying this cable on another device with a micro-HDMI output, if any of that is an option.
I recently bought an Anker USB hub with gigabit ethernet and connected it to an OTG cable. My (unrooted stock) Nexus Player picks up the ethernet interface right away and works perfectly... except for casting from my phone. My phone sees the Nexus Player as a target to cast to, but video never plays. If I disconnect ethernet and re-connect my Nexus Player via WiFi it works fine.
Anyone else have this problem?

Once connection through Ethernet is established, wireless is automatically disabled.

It could possibly be your specific adapter. Like sam.balia1012 said, when you plug up an ethernet adapter, it disables your wi-fi. however, even though I have the Inatek ethernet adapter, I am still able to tab cast or chromecast things from my phone to my Nexus Player while in ethernet mode without having to switch on wi-fi.
