Boot Loop

I unlocked and rooted my tablet awhile ago when i first got it.
Now i had the bright idea to flash cwm on it and I can't fix it.

[Q] Having trouble with wipe to put on first rom

So i finally rooted and went into twrp. This is the first rom im installing. Ive done this whole root thing for a little over 4 years now.
I went to do a wipe, system, cache, dav....and its been stuck on "factory reset" for 10 mins now what do i do. did i do something wrong?
formatting cache using make_ext4s function" is what its saying
the phone shut of and i thought it was done for. It did reboot but nothing was wiped. am i doing something wrong here?
normally you just go into the twrp, slide to wipe everything, install rom, gapps, wipe cache and dav and reboot.

Which twrp are you using? 2.6.3.2 has slow wipes...really slow..... But you should wipe cache, davlik, system, and data then flash ROM and gapps if needed then wipe cache and davlik again then reboot!

Crap guessing you don't have a backup......try using koush universal drivers to get your phone recognized...and use adb to sideload a ROM or use adb to push the philz cwm recovery zip to your recovery

If you want to sideload a ROM its easy and I'll guide you through or you can push a zip with adb to your recovery

You cant update if you have a custom recovery. If your still stuck hold the power+volume button until you see the lg logo then let go and press and hold again for factory reset. That will boot you back into CWM

Try doing a full wipe in cwm and then trying download mode. If it still does'nt work then this might help you http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142 Its a bit complex though but its a last resort.

CM12 Theme engine - HowTo Recover from Boot Loop with some themes

Hi.
If you are a Theme enthusiast while testing new themes sometimes end up with a bootloop which happened to me many times
only way out is data wipe which is a worst nightmare for the flasher(without having backup)
here is a solution where data wipe is not involved
Requirements
Recovery filemanager like AROMAFileManager/TWRP Recovery (which has inbuilt FileManager)
incase if you are using AromaFM you shold know how to use it in recoverry
Patience
Steps
Boot into recovery
Open Recovery File manager
goto Data/system/
Delete theme folder
Done
Reboot
No Boot loops. Change the theme once you boot
Hope this saves many hours for users like me who struggle to recover the data.

I have a tiny question. If I'm using TWRP, can I flash a ROM from an external device? (Attaching a pendrive inside TWRP)

I don't see file manager in the recover to get to delete the folder. Any clue, please?\
Update: Now got it, just installed TWRP Recovery from Odin.
Thanks! Better to go into data/system/theme and delete bootanimation.zip instead though.
Can't be made a flashable script that does this without a recovery based file manager?
I'm stuck at Cyanogen Recovery of Pac-rom and can't flash non signed zips like Aroma file manager.
EDIT: I have flashed TWRP through Odin, so I can continue with the tuto, thanks

Stuck in recovery without USB mount possible

Hello,
asi the name of thread suggests, i have a little issue. I formatted my data, media and sd card. So i lost my *.zip files with ROM and kernels. Issue is, hence i dont have any ROM installed, and i cant mount USB via my recovery (arter97's Philz Recovery) so i cant copy another ROM into my phone in order to flash it.
Anyone have some ideas, please? Im sure that this can be solved somehow.
Thank you.

Make sure you go to Download Mode BEFORE you plugin your Phone. You must press vol- homebutton and poweron button at the same time an wait for downloadmode

Had same issue some time back.
I used TWRP. It has option to mount. ( Do it only if you have not converted the file system)

If you cant install TWRP, complex way would be adb push. You need adb and with some commands files can can be pushed to phone.
