update... ok, i can get it to start but it freezes after a minute or so
Are you sure that the battery is ok?
Are you doing this with the charger plugged in?

Tried to turn on my nook this morning to be greeted by a empty battery with electric bolt icon. I plugged it in to the stock charger and it goes into an endless boot loop that I cant pull it out of. I've tried booting to recovery and holding power till it shuts down.
I left it on the charger for a few hours now it sticks on the skateboarding android with the spinning arrow. Booting to recovery takes me to a blank screen.
sounds like you should probably do a reinstall if you cant even get that far.. You should be able to keep data and just reinstall your rom through cwm on a bootable sd card. Worst comes to worst, just start over, but that should do it for you...
Don't know if this helps or not but I had the same problem the other day after falling asleep reading. After letting it charge for about 4 hours I checked it and got nothing but the same screen and really thought I messed something up with my cable so called for a replacement. Figuring what the heck, I left it to charge the rest of the day thinking I couldn't use it till I got the new cable anyway. That night I checked it out and it was charged. My cable is messed up (can't connect to the computer with it) and it does take a bit longer to charge but at least I can use it while waiting for the new cable.
Having similar issues
Everytime I accidently let the battery die. I have to re do the manual nooter which I loose all of my apps and the info on them. At first I thought it was B&N doing their force update but my Nook today still says 1.2 so I guess it didn't update.
The Goof
I think at some point my boot sector got corrupted (probably due to low voltage) and had to make a boot disk to reinstall CWM followed by CM7. Everything runs great now.
I know this is Old but thsi is the Solution
When the nook gets below 5% charge it does not have enough juice to boot up enough to check the battery status.
I don't know why putting cm7 on it causes this issue but it just does not know it is low to display low bat and go into idle to charge.
Instead it tries to start up as normal and sucks the little tiny charge it got in a few seconds up and causes it to deplete the battery.
and it repeats over and over.
The answer is if you pull the battery out it resets it's last known battery state to 0% and will no longer try to boto but instead displays the low bat logo and then idles to charge as normal.
So you need to open it up and pull out the wire that connects to the battery, wait a minute for good measure and then plug the wire back in and put everything together again.
the next time you plug it in you will see low bat and it will shut off and stay off and start charging as normal.
Hi, I am currently having a problem with my brand new Nook Simple Touch Glow. After I got it I went ahead and tried rooting it, but something went wrong and I was stuck on the booting screen (first the Read forever and then Barnes and nobles with 5 dots beneath) since my Glowlight was still on it quickly ran out of power (which I thought wasnt a bad thing since it might boot afterwards right?) but unfortunately it keeps saying the power is too low (no matter if plugged in or plugged out) and I should let it charge for 15 minutes. Well even after 30 minutes it still shows the same screen, holding the power button while its plugged in will force it too restart (at least it looks like it does) but it instantly goes back to the too low power screen. Can anybody help me?
PS: I hope you can understand my english, I am not a native speaker
After keeping it plugged in for multiple hours it suddenly booted(but was still stuck in the process), so I restarted it 8 times to get it back to factory settings.
Now I can use it normally again, but it ignores my Noogie SD to create a backup while booting (it just boots normally) any ideas?

Check your sdcard -
Is the sdcard inserted all the way in to the slot?
Or try making the noogie.img again.
This morning I was playing angry birds and my nook just shut off. I assumed my battery died so I tried to plug it in. Immediately it started to turn on and then as soon as the nook color screen came on it cut off. It's been doing this all day. It also keeps saying that it is preforming a system update and that it is restoring to factory settings. It only does has any activity when it is plugged in but it will not do anything when it is not plugged in. I have tried every combination of the power and the "n" button possible to try to fix it. is there anything else i can do?

Is the nook color a refurbished unit? Did you root it? Is is on the stock ROM? If it is a new unit bought at B&N return and exchange for a new one.

It could be your battery is not charged enough. It is trying to update, but will not update if your battery is below 15%, so that it assures there is enough to finish. Leave it plugged in for a while, even if it does cycle.
It is also possible that it is trying to repair itself with a built in repair zip,'romrestore' and failing. Try making my bootable CWM SD from my tips thread linked in my signature. Boot to that and see if it is stable. You may have to run some of my partition repair zips if you cannot revive it. Then you would have to reinstall stock.

my S7edge, with Stock ROM, never flashed or hacked it.
was working perfectly fine.
Last software update package was a week or 2 ago.
Today, the phone suddenly froze while I'm using it, then restarted and kept rebooting automatically in an endless loop.
I tried to force it to go to recovery mood... it would go to a blue screen saying : "Installing updates" and nothing happens.
kept rebooting into safe mode or recovery/download mode until it suddenly just went totally off.
The charger wires were a bit cut lately, so it would give a broken charging lately, not sure if that caused any kind of problems to the battery or mother board.
Since then, I am not able to turn it on again in any mode.
It also doesn't show any indications when a charger is connected.
So right now it is just dead with no signs at all. non responsive to any force power ON nor to charging.
I left it for more than 5 hours now without charging, nothing changed.
Update:
So I left it overnight. In the morning, I connected the charger and indeed it drained to 0% and started being responsive to charging again.
As soon as it charged to 20% I powered it on. It loaded into recovery, giving the no command screen. Then I went on and selected system reboot.
Then it rebooted and Android started, as soon as I tried unlocking it, it froze and started again into an endless rebooting loop until it blacked out again. Now again not responsive.
I will leave it to drain again. Does anyone know what I shall do when it gets to that endless rebooting sequence. It is obvious that Android had a malfunction... not sure what as I didn't do anything new last week..
Is there a way to get it through without factory reset?
Thanks

Bro flash latest stock rom
Solved !
It was already on stock ROM.
After lots of troubleshooting, rebooting in safe mode without the SD card worked fine. I then rebooted in Recovery mode, wiped the cashe, rebooted again normally with no SD card. Then inserted the SD card after.... got a message that SD card is not supported (seems it got corrupted somehow).
Anyways, now it's fine... let's see for how long...
Hey all,
While I was watching a video 2 days ago, the screen started to glitch and the phone shut itself down. I tried to restart it by holding [power]+[vol up]+[vol down]. I got stuck in the boot screen, then it shut down completely. I tried charging it but it didn't work. I left it for several hours and tried again, this time it started to charge the battery. I immediately tried to boot it. It booted normally but froze at the home screen, and went black again. Now, I get no response when I plug it to my computer, I can't get into download mode, and it doesn't the charge battery.
I was using the latest Havoc OS if it helps.
Any help would be appeciated.
