Is my battery life crappy because I made a mistake?

I let the thing drain until it turned off, then turned it back on and drain some more then charged it while it was off when I first got it.. should I get a new battery because right now I can barely last 8 hours with set cpu and all the stuff.. Ive done many calibration things but no change..

I think it's unlikely you ruined your battery but it couldn't hurt to swap it out at a Sprint store, I'm sure they would do that for you

Getting the battery to too low of a voltage can damage it, yes. It's unlikely you actually managed that though.

Trying to learn

Alittle new here what's the differance between deodexed and odexed and what is journaling? Thanks guys, and yeah I know they are probably noobalicious questions.

Actually I don't even know what the diff from odex and deox is.. iknow deodexed is all bloat removed.
In simple terms journaling is when ur phone writes extra data so incase u pull battery or ur phone locks up It won't get Corrupted with bad data blocks. Which cause phones os or apps to not work properly

Thanks isaint, I've been learning just by reading and flashing and messin up and then fixing lol. Awsome stuff though. This stuff is more fun than playing my 360 sometimes.

Did you try Genocide1.1 for Kernel? My battery life increased. I can use WiFi all day. lol

EVO 4G headphone jack not working

Very weird problem...need to know if anyone has had the same problem. My headphone jack will not play my music or movies but it will work for phone calls. Tried rebooting, wiping cache and dalvic, but still no good. Anybody...

Do you have your media volume up??

Mine did this yesterday. try dropping it onto a hard surface from about 4 inches. Works like a charm now

Dude trust me that was my last resort. Reboot, battery pull, unplug replug. Then a slight 4 inch drop did it. I use my Evo as a mp3 player.

It kept my 360 controller alive for an extra 3 months. Ha Ha

The weird thing is that the jack works for making phone calls but no music audio. How do u explain that?

Have u tried other music player apps? What about a game? Try to narrow it down.

Sounds like a funky software issue. Did you try a hard reset? Run a stock rom and see what happens.

A little help please

Would anyone be able to help possible explain something. I've used sacs ROM and Google edition ROM and all different kernels...but my battery...is really bad, I know there's alot of factors but I put a monitor on it and all my apps are doing like nothing...I'm not really using the phone to much... So I'm really confused as to why its like this...

Always the possibility of a bad battery. Have you checked the water marks to see if they have been activated ?
Another thing. Are you using the stock charger ?

I'll give it a look, I didn't think it'd be that, but I'll check
As an example I get about less than 10 hours on a good day if I don't charge or use it much, like WiFi off and whatnot

Yeah there was no water damage marks that were on the battery, it was still white so I'm not sure what's happening

Just a suggestion but with ghost battery issues like yours I would download/install BetterBatteryStats if you have not already and post the dumps in the thread so they can be looked at by those that know what to look for: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809

It was a massacre lol, i wouldn't know bout the commercials i was busy talking trash with my boy's about the game. The game was one sided basicly but it would of been better if the donkey's never scored.
