Hello,
I just bought Olympus M52W microphone.
I have galaxy note 2 (rooted) and i would like to take videos using this microphone.
At the moment, it works using a 3.5mm 4-Pin to 2x 3-Pin 3.5mm Headset Splitter Adapter but i was questionning if it is possible to record sound without it.
As I know, the internal connector of galaxy note 2 is 4 pin jack :

As you can see picture of mic in the link above, the 2 pins doesn't correspond to 4 pin of phone.
Is it any way to change assignements of phone's pin to correspond of microphone pins? Or it is hardware dependant (as i think...).
Thank you for answers !

Hi and thank you for answers, my goal is using external microphone without any wire.
Like it for exemple :
I allready read almost all threads about external mic in XDA but i need to know if it is possible to change assignements of phone's pin to correspond of microphone pins?

No, it isn't.
You'd have to rewire your phone internally.
Why not retrofit your mic with a 4 pole plug?
Also, if you are just using a tiny electret mic, why do you think it will be a lot better than the internal one?

I will try to make adapter with 4pin male jack and 2pin jack female wired for mic ofc.
I tested the ME52W and the sound is much better than the internal.
I searched over the net but i couldn't find this type of adapter.
I only found 4pin to 3pin adapter (headset to headphone) but not headset to mic at the moment.
You're making this harder than it needs to be just to skip using a wire?

Does anyone know of any earbuds without a cord at all. I want to very discretely listen to music at work.

here you go take a look at these, i been looking for a pair like this for a while. I have been using the Altec back beat 903 and love them except for the connnection cord between the two earpeices, i have thick hair and the cord is a bit on the stiff side so it tends to pull them out of my ears. but these may be just what we both are looking for...

Sorry, but those exist only on Ennova Direct's drawing board. No one has yet to license their patent for manufacture.
that is really a shame, they look like they would be totaly awesom, i really love the ones i got but if i could get rid of the cord between the ear sets it would be the best. they stay on my ears perfectly until the, rather stiff, cord that connects them hits my shirt coller or jacket coller, then it pushes them up and off my ears.
actually been thinking of doing a little modding on them, see if i can replace that cord with a slightly longer and a much thinner connection cord. It is my belief that the stiff part is just a type of conduit or sheath that could be removed.
Has anybody managed to USE an MHL/any other video output cable that can connect to a TV via HDMI or other connection?

no, I have not tried it.. because i dont have mhl cable
i just have seen that line in aurora build.prob.. i thought maybe that line make MHL cable work on our device
guys if you make it work somehow, please tell us. I would love to connect the phone to my tv
try 5800 tv-out cable not working
of course it won't work through the 3.5 jack. this device doesn't have D/A video converter and filters for headphones would cut the video layer. Only through misco-usb to hdmi if possible
If somebody ones to try, I found them cheap @

Do you write for such a cable
similar topic : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1378708
but as for as I know, no one that has such a cable has responded.
So until some one has a cable that he or she can test, the answer remains a mystery =)
But maybe there are people here that have friends that work in a pc-shop, who can ask to try?
Did anyone tried?

I don't know and was wondering this myself. Does anybody know?
They are for the various USB OTG connections possible. USBDisk 1.1.1 is where a pen drive will show up as external memory if connected with an OTG cable and the others are for the 4 USB ports on a dock, each of which is treated as a separate mount point by the OS. There are a couple extra that I am not certain of but are just more instances of external USB device possibilities.
Has anyone tried to hook up a thumb drive to the RAZR m using a USB otg cable? I was thinking of buying one and thumb drive and seeing if it would work. I found a nice cable that allows you to charge your phone while you have the thumb drive or whatever plugged in. If anyone is interested I'll post a link

i've been thinking about tinkering with something like this it looks like you guys have it covered pretty well
NICE WORK
I've created my own case for the ouya I was trying to make it more functional than good looking. It has 2 switches one is a replacement for the power button as I didn't want to mess with positioning the circuit board so I could press the button. The other switch bypasses the fan controller and gives 12v straight from the psu to both the motherboard fan and the extra fan I added in. The fan power from the board is still hooked up but, Its protected by a diode to prevent voltage feedback into places it shouldn't be. The way it's hooked up it also turns on the second fan if the switch is not on. The second board beneath the second fan is a cheap powered usb hub so I can hook up a mouse, keyboard, and a usb stick.

I would love the BDG case, but with shipping it more than doubles the cost, I wish I didn't have principles :/
Haven't found any good alternatives though.
Can someone explain why there is 2 connectors on s5 charger? Can I just charge it with my note 2 charger? Thanks

Several!
The extra parts, that extend the micro-USB 2.0 connection, increase your data bandwidth (allowing faster data transfers) AND increase the amount of power supplied. That means faster charging! It's completely backwards-compatible with micro-USB 2.0, so any old accessories and chargers you have still work (suck it, Apple), but at the same time, it increases your options because there is now more bandwidth and power available.
I picked up a Samsung micro USB 3.0 cable on eBay for £1.59 and it charges waaaay faster
