one last question do some custom roms for SGY modify the bootloader?

no - you do not need to replace bootloader files or repartition in odin - doing so could damage your device
you only need to include pda phone(modem) & csc

yes because you are flashing stock rom and kernel firmware - like I said - it will be like you switched the phone on for the first time
please search if you want more information
there are plenty of guides in the general section and on xda as a whole

Consultation on ICS

Hi I have a query I can install a modified rom gt my N7000 note before installing a stock (so gingerbreak pass a cooked rom ICS? I would like a stock but all are in hot file server and that gives mme many problems. If could do run some risk with kermels? thanks
There are 2 safe "stock" ICS kernel, franco's r3 and SpeedMod's K3-1, or any GB kernel.
So I recommend using a safe kernel to install any ICS rom you want then use franco or speedmod's ics kernel.

There are mirrors posted by user in this thread or others, download from there and proceed on with pc odin. Or flash stock gb throught odin and use kies to update. You will loose root and data
IN PC ODIN DO NOT SELECT repartition or clear efs.

I've installed "REINCARNATION ROM SERIES pre-Final [JB UI & S4 UI]" and i have new "no sim card/there is no service" error.

Firstly i installed evo-x 3 rom and then i've got this error. I am really going to mad because i tried all stuff but there is no change.
And there is no IMEI too.
What can i do?

Up!
Use the correct kernel for the rom you are using
If cm7 based use something like percys cm #2 kernel
if stock based use something like hells fusion #50
You have no imei either because you are using the wrong kernel or you are using an incompatible stock baseband
With sd card the rom's mentioned are for GT-S5300 - using them on other devices may cause problems
flash your stock rom via odin & test it's not a hardware problem first

Try different kernel and see what it does maybe stock kernel or what ever if you still get reboots then do as said b 4 and flash different rom.

You don't have stock kernel on exynos?
Flash Stock kernel first cause that is how can I say.. minimizing the margin of error. If it doesn't work try different rom and at last complete rewind.

Then going back to stock rom is probably what you have to do or try the rom you suggested. Is it running stock kernel?
You didn't play around with kernel settings?

It will HARD BRICK your device, you must flash the ROM which is meant for your device ONLY

for expl if i wanna flash a ROM of i9505 on my i9500 ?!
what could happen ?
Odin will refuse to install a stock ROM that does not match the model of S4 you try to install it on. This is a good thing, because using your example, at best the device would bootloop. More likely you would end up with a soft brick, as the processor of the I9500 is different from the processor for the I9505.
Flashing a custom ROM not intended for the device will have similar consequences, either a boot loop or soft brick.

question about flashing a ROM

hello ..
i have galaxy s4 Lte (Jfltexx) running on Android 6.0 By CrDroid ..
i'm asking if i can flash another ROM ?
i mean i'm already running on Custom ROM and i want to change it to another custom ROM ..
so i have just to "clean install" (wipe system/cache - flash ROM.zip - flash Gapps...) or there's another method to do it ?
There's no other method, unless you want to risk having problems.

ROMs are all built differently and some have various tweaks under the hood.
Knowing that, do you really think it's a good idea to flash a ROM on top of a completely different ROM?
So, I may face problems and I may face not?
And what if flashed the original frimeware, and then flash the ROM I want to flash? Is that safer?
And thanks.
