To unpack and repack I use this tool TAR.MD5 Packager by @A.S._id . Thanks. It's very good.
To unpack the cache.img and the cache.img.ext4 I use THIS by @AdamLange. Thanks.
<cache.img> or <cache.img.ext4>, it's good. (Without < >)

Or you can use this tool:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2281287
This tool will convert IMG file into TAR.MD5 (Odin flashable) file.

No. For me, the .zip from CacheRipper is only to storage. The META-inf inside is from another device, may be the SII. I never tried to install it.
You unzip and have the CSC directly on a folder system. Usually I copy from this and paste on /system from device.

I have converted the cache.img.ext4 to csc.tar.md5 file, can I just flash the csc.tar.md5 using pc odin on download mode? I will need to place this in the csc box, right? Will it wipe my data when I flash the csc? Appreciate your advice.

Hi. i need help on this topic. I have N9005 having multi csc and defaukt csc set to XSI. I want to change the csc but *272#* is not working on my phone.
so if i manually replace csc files on pc and then repack csc and and flash it using odin, will it trip my knox?
sorry for bad english.

Unable to flash MJ4 modem (SOLVED)

I have downloaded the MJ6 firmware for SM-N9005 which includes MJ4 modem.
I extracted modem.bin and put it in a .tar file to flash with Odin, as I have the DjeMBey MJ6 rom but old baseband.
It flashes successfully but my phone shows MI6 baseband still The problem is because "Auto Reboot" is ticked.
The solution to successfully flash MJ4 baseband is as follows:
1) Flash the modem.bin inside a .tar file in Odin under CP (or Phone). UNTICK THE "Auto Reboot" OPTION
2) WAIT UNTIL IT SAYS PASSED
3) Keep phone on, unplug phone, close Odin, plug into different USB port and open Odin again
4) Flash modem.bin inside .tar file again as in step 1
5) WAIT UNTIL IT SAYS PASSED
6) Keep phone on, unplug phone, close Odin, plug into different USB port and open Odin again
7) Flash stock NON-HLOS.bin file from MJ6 firmware in Odin
8) WAIT UNTIL IT SAYS PASSED
9) Take out battery
10) Reinsert battery
11) Profit
I hope this helps some people

Thanks, and modified my original post.
I made a N9005-2modemsMJ4-RomMJ6.tar.md5 whit both modem.bin and NON-HLOS.bin.
(2modems means two files to one modem. For me must be flashed always together).
Flashed whit MobileOdin, worked very well. (on MO Chainfire call that modem and modem #2).
PS: By Odin3 I think must be also the same, both 2 files inside the .tar.md5
Hi @danieljamie
Your steps 1) to 11) on OP are horrible, I don't like same work. Sorry.

SM-N9005 bought in Sweden. My latest firmware that worked just fine was SM-N9005XXUBMJ1-PRE-ROOTED-DEODEX-SUPER-SLIM-KNOX-FREE.tar
After upgrading to stock N9005XXUDMJ7_N9005OXADMJ4_BTU.zip
Firmware - N9005XXUDMJ7 - SM-N9005
Model: SM-N9005
Country: United Kingdom
Version: Android 4.3
Build date: 30 Oct 2013
Product Code: BTU
PDA: N9005XXUDMJ7
CSC: N9005OXADMJ4
MODEM: N9005XXUDMJ7
Changelist: 2019540
I started to get WiFi problems (camera worked). Now I managed to get the Wifi working by flashing Note 3 - leanKernel_hltetmo-v1.2 that I used before on MJ1 without any issues. So now my WiFi works just fine but the camera gives my FC. So my options is camera OR WiFi and I can't downgrade to any other firmware. Tried that and I don't get any boot sound on Samsung logo (weird) when homescreen shows up I get some System FC crap... WiFi and camera not working (after 15 sec) the phone reboots over and over again. I think that is because the bootloader was upgraded. I also tried my nandroid backup of MJ1, but I still get System FC something... Time to throw the phone away after spending 2 days trying to fix this I'm out of any good options. Maybe I find someone that has a CWM flashable file of working MJ7 LOL... Wiping everything and installing pure stock MJ7 should work but it does not for me.
Thanks for trying to help out mate. :highfive:

Since OP already have root...reflashing full stock MJ7 via MobileOdin should bring back your wifi and solved other problem. And you will still have your root intact.
Flashing via MobileOdin did not trigger Knox flag...provided your Knox still 0x0.

[Q] Can TWRP Recovery for i9505 work on i337?

I am looking to install this recovery: http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/182
It is TWRP recovery for the i9505 variant. I have the i337 model, the AT&T variant. I want to install the TWRP recovery for the S4 using Odin, and I do not see a tar file that I can flash through Odin for the AT&T variant. There is a tar file for the regular i9505 and I want to know if that will also work. If the answer is yes, could someone please tell me how to flash the recovery through Odin?
Hello,

3.Extract Odin ZIP file
4.Open Odin v3.10.7
5.Reboot Phone in Download Mode (press and hold Home + Power + Volume Down buttons)
6.Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
7.Add the firmware file to AP / PDA
8.Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
9.Click the start button, sit back and wait few minutes
Is there a way to root this version?
Do you have the pit file to make the repartition with this firm?

No doesn't trip knox, as it is still official firmware. I just installed XEF in my PHN and have done this many times, as long as official, it will not trip knox.

Downgrade to previous version & SW REV. Check Fail

Samsung Bootloader does not allow to downgrade the ROM, Therefore I found a way to Downgrade Specially from Nougat to Marshmallow and Solution to SW REV. Check Fail.
Required:
1. Marshmallow or which you need Odin Firmware (Can be downloaded from Sammobile) for your Mobile.
2. 7zip installed.
3. WinRar installed (if 7Zip Shows error while Extracting the .tar file of firmware). I recommend this for extracting the tar file.
Steps:
1. Rename the Firmware from .tar.md5 to .tar so that WinRar can open it.
2. Extract the Firmware files except sboot.bin, cm.bin and modem.bin .
3. Now compress the extracted files to tar archive using 7Zip.
4. Done, Firmware is ready to flash through Odin.
cm.bin and sboot.bin causes to SW Rev check fail so If you face this error remove them from firmware.
If you like please hit Thanks button.
Hello, So basically we need to remove all .bin files? ok
I also need to downgrade my modem.bin because I'm facing Wi-Fi and Bluetooth issues (they don't turn on). So is it possible to flash those files separately after? Will it work?
