Hi,
I made a few weeks ago a lib called SmoothProgressBar. Basically it allows you to have a highly customizable indeterminate horizontal progressBar that runs smoothly.
Youtube video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0dd1uaNbTM
I wrote a post about this: http://antoine-merle.com/blog/2013/11/12/make-your-progressbar-more-smooth/
Here is the lib: http://github.com/castorflex/SmoothProgressBar
You can find a demo app on the play store: http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=fr.castorflex.android.smoothprogressbar.sample
Thanks to MohammadAG who made the Xposed version: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2556752
Please do not hesitate to create new Issues or make Pull Requests!
Sorry I can't make outside links 'cause I need 10 posts
Thanks!
Antoine.
very useful tools. thanks for sharing it!
I like the YOLO button in your video.

So I guess this is more developer territory.
@Castorflex
I really like your lib and I hope to include it in my next project (being in my favorites on GitHub since a while)
Thanks for sharing.

Hello together,
So I'm starting this thread for everyone who has specific questions about Android. I first thought about an ultimate android guide but there are already a lot of beginner guides. Long story short: I would like this thread to be explaining specific stuff about android which aren't in our wiki page (like CPU governors and their functions...)
I am not very experienced right now so I would appreciate ,if you will just PM me and I will insert/ add it to the thread.
Greetings

Reserved for the future...
But not in the development section.. -.-

tldr; I made a thread with no content, as such you guys should PM me the content.
Idea ain't bad but please, try to first find content then start the thread with sufficient enough topics. This is just a placeholder and just spam like it is right now.
Plus, as Xellar said, this doesn't belong in the development forums.
Yes you're right (but I hadn't time to make some stuff in it... :/ )
And as you maybe all know: the i9001 only has one forum and here the most people see it as fast at possible. So...
And as you may have read; I am not a lot experienced but very interested in stuff like this; you and our other big devs know more: I just wanted to make a beginning with this for other not much experienced but very interested...
I thought of an big community project (of course there will be a credits section). I also will try to update as often and fast as possible.
why don't make it in the wiki page?
i think that this thread has no future and it's useless... just my opinion..we have a complex wiki page and search function..Good luck !!
Yes you're right! So let's add more to our wiki!!!

Hi xda-developers!
This is my first post so I'm sure you will be swift to tell me if I'm doing it wrong!
I have an app that currently uses a Tab activity to navigate between activities. However I want to convert all of this to be able to implement an ActionBar using fragments. What is the quickest and easiest way to do this? Or are there any good resources out there to help?
Many thanks
NoahDev
I wouldn't use ActionBarSherlock.
Google released their own library:

Thanks I'll look into this! Will all my activities need changing to Fragments still?

EDIT: I'm looking into it and there doesn't seem to be much difference. Why wouldn't people use actionbarsherlock?
The activities need to be converted to fragments. This needs some coding time (but not too much, after doing one the rest will be straightforward) but also it's the best solution.
And I would use ActionBarCompat instead of ActionBarSherlock.
ABS works fine though?

Im struggling to understand all the hostility towards it!

ActionbarCompat get official updates from Google. That's the advantage.
However, it does not provide a PreferenceActivity with an ActionBar and contains some bugs which will hopefully be fixed in the next version.
Hey All, while working on a new app, I put together a very simple library that reads RSS feeds. I decided to make my own, because the current ones are very outdated and seem impossible to customize. Please check it out and share! Thanks!

I don't understand what to do with the files in rss.zip
Thank You

What do you mean? When you clone the project, you can include in your project by importing it.

Hi Shirwa,
First, Thanx for a simple and great library! :good:
Learnt how to use RSS using this.
Even added a few items to it.
Now to brass tacks.
Some URL's are not loaded.
eg.: http://feeds.feedburner.com/ndtv/Lsgd?format=xml
http://indiatoday.feedsportal.com/c.../indiatoday.intoday.in/rss/article.jsp?sid=61
http://feeds.feedburner.com/News-Karnataka?format=xml
Also, some ATOM feeds load, whiles others don't.
Could you help out?
Thanx.
Hi, I've made a Magisk Module that enable HEVC video recording on OnePlus 6 and 6T, but I'm unable to make a post in the Development section, how can I solve this?

Why should it go in themes? Magisk Modules aren't considered development? Anyway thanks for the tip, I'll try to post in themes later!

Hi there!
Looks like a fun project you got going on there. Since you're making it for both devices, OnePlus 6 & 6T Cross Device Development seems like its proper home. But you may want to read this first: https://forum.xda-developers.com/newmember.php
Also, please read this as well: https://forum.xda-developers.com/on...evelopment/rules-posting-development-t4004701
Thanks and have a good one

The Wiki
I got my OnePlus 8 one week ago and I already have an idea, make a big Wiki for OnePlus 8 / 8 Pro.
My goal is to provide all resources to get the best phone setup, with links, examples, screenshot, detailed steps etc. etc.
(I will need OnePlus 8 Pro users to be sure everything works, bc I don't have the Pro one)
The wiki will be on my Github soon

I want to root my device .. also i heard that i should backup my persist partition in case
waiting for your wiki
Hey guys,sorry for the delay.
I had an issue with my OP8 when i was working on the Wiki, but i fixed it.
I will open the WIki soon and works on it publicly
Sounds like a plan! Cheers
Voila the wiki is out, check it here guys
Only Adb / Bootloader and TWRP for now, Magisk part will be out in some hours
I think you should include Viper4Android, Youtube mods, gcam, adaway, ratio launcher, tap tap, energy ring. Cuz this is my current setup on OP8. And Substratum themes. My personal favorite is Flux.
