Can someone please explain in full detail with steps on how to reset my HTC HD2 and my SD card in it. Also, could someone then explain how to perfectly install PixelDroid_AOKP (Or another really good one) onto my phone. I'm having trouble resetting my phone and sd card and then formatting it to the correct thing. Then after that, I have problems using the correct choices to install as there are so many different ones and I do not know what to choose. Anyone know the answer?
Reboot your phone and keep pushing volume down, when you are in 4 colors (bootlader) use Task29 to format your device from PC, Connect HD2 to pc let windows install drivers, then execute task29, when you reach 99% kepp pushing volume down to boot again in bootlader (4colors). After Task29 instal MAGLRD, when it is installed reboot your phone and whenyou see go, go, go appear keep pushing on/off botton to boot in MAGLRD, go to flahsable mode and install Recovery CMW or 4EXT, whatever, before that open flash.cfg file with note and set up the file like the developers asking on they roms, (Partition 200mb, Cahe 2mb exc) when you installed recovery put the rom zip file which you like to sd, format your sd from pc before, then boot in MAGLRD, when you are there boot in recovery and select flash from zip in installation, done, enjoy the rom. After installation reboot your phone 3 times. Flash in this way how many time you like and if you have problems do not ask me.
Hit 10 times thanks botton.
I forgot one of the most important part, before do all from my first post you have to install first HSPL and after that a Radio, I think v2.12.50.02_2 it's good enough.
Hit Thanx.

So after many hours of trying to install a ROM, I finally succeeded but now my touch screen isn't working. These are the steps I took to get the ROM to work
from the recovery screen:
select wipe
select dalvik-cache
select ext partition
go back up a level and select partition
partition the SD card
take the sdcard out and put it in your computer
copy these 2 files from your computer to the root of the sdcard:
http://dx.infernix.net/DRC83_base_defanged.zip
http://n0rp.chemlab.org/android/update-cm-4.2.15.1-signed.zip
go back into recovery
select wipe
choose data/factory reset
go back up a level
select flash zip from sdcard
select the DRC83_base_defanged.zip
when that completes do the same thing for the other file:
select flash zip form sdcard
select the update-cm-4.2.15.1-signed.zip
when that finishes, reboot the phone. it may take 5-10 min to get past the green screen.
However when I reset the phone, the touch screen didn't want to work. Any ideas on how to fix this? I can't touch the android to continue using the phone. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Necro-bump
Did you ever get this issue resolved? I am having the same issue.
Same Here
Also having this issue. Trying all sorts of different roms. :/
What do you mean the touchscreen does not work???In all roms or in a specific??If it is for all roms then the screen has 2 parts..The LCD display and the Digitizer. You can find a cheap digitizer in ebay but you have to solder 4 pins...
You can try changing the rom or Flash one original if you thing is ROM problem..
Hi all,
i have a htc magic 32b on which i installed CM4 after rooting. Now i decided to upgrade to CM6 and here start my troubles.
I have Amon_RA recovery v1.70, i put the installation .zip of CM6.1 togheter with gapps .zip in the sd card, and after a full wipe i flashed them, following the wiki.
After rebooting the phone is stuck on the loading screen with the operator theme (tim), but i am still able to enter into recovery.
I tried to wipe cache and dalvik, but without results.
Then i tried to partition the sd card, and after rebooting, the phone shows the loading screen and shuts down after a while.
Finally i notice that i need a special radio to flash CM6, i find a 2.22.23.02 radio and i flash it.
Now i can't enter in the recovery anymore!
I found this guide:
"So you can’t access bootloader or recovery and the only thing that works is the blue led trick when pressing trackball + power button??
Try the procedure below.
Step 1: Turned Phone off by taking out the battery.
Step 2: Prepared SD card
Put SD card in card reader and formatted it as FAT32, copied the onto it.
Sapphimg.nbh
Step 3: Put SD card back in phone
Step 4: Hold Vol down + Power + track ball together and put battery to start phone
Step 5: Run update"
but it doesn't work.
Please, please help me!Thanks!
PS: i read lots of threads here, but i didn't find a solution.
Any ideas? I'm losing all hopes... HELP!
Please also simply an advice will be great.
Sounds bricked.
There is a guide on the wiki about recovering a bricked device via jtag. If you have the skills and tools to do that, then that's probably your only option. I you can't do that then pay someone to do it for you, or use the phone as a paperweight.
I guess I bricked my iconia...
I installed Recovery, etc. But when I rebooted my device it starts up, and shows my initial display screen. But it locks on the display (it is past the Android, and Acer screen).
So I tried to recover the device using the unbrick procedures described in this forum, and others. But it seems whenever it tries to process any update.zip file including the unbrick the little android man either stops turning or displays a sign indicating things did not work out as they should have.
I have clockwordmod backup from my system. How do I use that backup? When I use my phone the device automatically boots into xrecovery and allows me to restore. How do I get that with the Iconia?
first of all your device is not bricked as long as you can boot into any type of recovery.
second you obviously have cwm installed, but anyhow even if you don't have it i hope you have an external sd-card.
dl any of the stock rom's from the dev section, basically best is to choose the rom made for your country.
extract the update.zip and put it on your external sd-card.
then install it with cwm if you still have it, or with acer recovery (volume - and power simultaneously until the recovery text shows up).
and then take it from there.
also good idea is to clean dalvik cache and data cache before restarting if you use cwm.
then you can reinstall root and cwm.

Thanks... The problem is I can't boot into anything.
How do I boot into cwm? I can't boot into the operating system as once it hits the display screen with my picture the system freezes and tries to power down?
I have been playing around with acer recovery, but all of the updates I downloaded will not load onto the system. It tries to install, gets about 1/3 through and then gives me an error.
Hence why I was thinking that maybe my backup has something?
push volume - (left volume button) first and power and keep your fingers on it until it displays the recovery text message on top left of the screen
If you are getting into recovery. And flashing. A rom give you errors or does not complete. This issue is a bad d/load.or a bad currupt SD card.I would say format your SD card again.redownload the correct rom again.don't use a download manager.then decrypt. Unzip then put the update.zip on your SD card turn off your tab install SD card.
Reboot
Holding down volume up and power until you see the 4th line of txt. It should take you to cwr. Or flash your device
good luck
Yep.. use vol-down and power to boot into cwm. Keep holding vol-down until you see tiny white text in upper left corner.
Then do full restore. When it's done, if you don't see "Backup Succesfull!" message, you'll need to restore flexrom from the advanced restore menu. This is because it failed trying to restore .android_secure.img and caused cwm to restart before flextrom was restored.
Alternatively, you can delete the .android_secure.img file from your backup set before doing the full restore.
Good luck.

Thanks guys for all of your feedback.
However, when I hold down the buttons you mentioned I do get those text items you mention. The problem is that unlike my android phone it does not pop up the recovery menu. It goes straight into the Acer Recovery procedure (The android with turning gears).
Could it have been that upgrading to a specific ROM the recovery procedure is shortcircuited????
What I am trying to figure out is how to get the recovery menu.
Same deal!
I have the exact same issue. The Update.zip will not take and the Android Gears screen gets to 1/3 before the yellow triangle. Any further help would yield loud THANKS!
your update.zip should preferably be those 3.1 full. cos I believe it does not check anything for it to fail.
Thanks Kenny that does help and explain a few things.
ok...so i was playing with the custom partition tool and ended up screwing up my phone...now the phone doesn't boot...i can't mount data or format it...can't wipe Dalvik's cache...i've tryed fixing this with a stock firmware...it didn't even want to install it...it's like the whole data partition off my phone is unaccesable...please helpp...
We do not know what you did to your phone, please explain it.
1) Did you use the tool that increases your internal storage for apps?
2) What happens if you hold vol+ and vol- and turn on the phone?
3) What happens if you hold vol+ while turning on the phone?
4) What happens if you try to simply boot up the thing?
5) What happens if you follow the instructions Huawei provides for updating the ROM?
You might have damaged the partition table of your internal memory. That should not be that big of a deal - as long as your computer still recognizes the device.
If your computer does not recognize the device, do the following: Download the .iso-image provided here. Burn it onto a CD and start it up, it is a linux-live-cd. There will be only one program, gparted. It will recognize your device.
No my computer recognises the phone...i tried to increase the internal memory...if i hold vol+ and - the phone goes in to bootloader...i cna also access the recovery mod...if i boot the phone...it just says IDEOS and frezzes there..i followed the instructions on huawei and stock rooms...install but at the end they say instalation failed...hope i didn't forget anything

Than all you have to do is go into Recovery, mount the SD Card, copy the customer Rom and install it.
Amm...well i tryed that...and it's the same thing..still get that same IDEOS screen and nothing happens..and what is a customer ROM?
We'll...it's over..my phone died:/...i tryed the gparted...and screwed something up even more...so i'm gonna take it back tommorow..tnx for the help..
If you do not explain what you doing exactly I am afraid I cannot help you. gparted is a tool used to format and partition memory. You cannot screw up anything, it is just a software change. I suggest you tell us what you see when you select the device within gparted (which partitions show up etc.) before returning it.
i see nothing..the phone doesn't even wanna turn on now since i did something with gparted...and gparted doesn't show my device..cos it doesn't read it...it's dead..
If it does not turn on anymore you do need to send it in for repair. Please be careful the next time and if you do want to apply that partition program, do exactly what the instructions say. Besides overclocking this is the only thing you should not experiment with.
Well hopefully you get a new device (or a repaired one) soon!
I had Revolution HD rom or something like that don't remember it't long time it worked. One morning I woke up and my phone didn't respone. Yesterday everything worked..When i tried to boot current rom it stuck on HTC screen..Okay so I decided to flash new rom because recovery still work but I probably lost my root because it can't delete previous rom..Today after long time I decide to ask you what to do. When I tried update new version of rom today it looked like everything it's fine but is stuck on HTC logo or restarts over and over again..
Sorry for bad eng..
DO you want help?I can help u if u only want it

Guys I'm not an expert in this, but when you flash a new ROM it takes time to load. Maybe you just didn't wait enough.

You're right. When intalling a new ROM, the first boot is longer because the new one is building a new Dalvik cache and so on... depending of the release.
Be patient a bit more, then report ...

if you can get into your phone into hboot/recovery/fastboot then your phone is not a brick!
the problems with white htc screen is called a bootloop. like the user above suggested use a full wipe. easiest way is connect phone to PC and go into fastboot from your options when in the bootloader
type in fastboot erase system -w this will erase all system and userdata
then disconnect phone from PC when that is complete and navigate to your recovery option. select the recovery option and then mount back to USB cable and select USB toggle option so you can data transfer to SD card.
put new rom you wish to use or redownload one you wanted. then try again
It's actually a splash loop, a boot loop is the boot animation. But you get the idea

the only option i get when i get into fastboot from the phone is bootloader, reboot, reboot bootloader and power down. if i chose any of the above then they all go back Hboot menu. cannot get into menu to type in fastboot erase sytem -w. can u advise me on where is the menu?. or i'm i doing something wrong..
thanks.

I don't understand where u was waiting.
Can you describe what was happening?
Are you able to access the bootloader??
1. Pull out battery
2. Put in battery
3. Hold power + Volume Down buttons until inside bootloader UI
4. Use volume keys to navigate to the "Recovery" option then press the power key.
5. Once recovery has booted, use volume keys to navigate to the "Factory reset & wipe data" option, then press power key.
6. Reboot.
Results?
Had the same problem in the past.
I downloaded an RUU and managed to get my phone to boot normally.
Take a look on this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=982783
Download RUU is a good idea I tried it, didn't work..In that post he said some asian worked but I can't get one anywhere.
I used the Asia_WWE_1.32.707

Got part with fastboot but where am I supposed to write -w? I'm not that good in this that is why I ask here for help. But thanx anyway. And I tried wipe everything using recovery and when I wipe system writes error all the time.
I also tried all the above method but to no avail. Then a friend of mine bought the dhd so i made a goldcard from his phone loaded a pd98img.zip and flashed.. my dhd is back in action... i think this is your only solution, find somebody with the same phone. If u cant let me no i'll send you a gold card.
If it could help me than upload it somewhere And tell me how to use it. I heard about it but not sure.
You can remove your sd card then you will be able to choose the recovery option instead of it constantly going to hboot. The hboot looks for a file and asks you to instal or not install and then tells you to power of. Remove you sd card and you wont get this option so you can go into recovery and reflash a rom (you can re insert your sd card once in recovery and chose the mount option)
