I had Revolution HD rom or something like that don't remember it't long time it worked. One morning I woke up and my phone didn't respone. Yesterday everything worked..When i tried to boot current rom it stuck on HTC screen..Okay so I decided to flash new rom because recovery still work but I probably lost my root because it can't delete previous rom..Today after long time I decide to ask you what to do. When I tried update new version of rom today it looked like everything it's fine but is stuck on HTC logo or restarts over and over again..
Sorry for bad eng..

Guys I'm not an expert in this, but when you flash a new ROM it takes time to load. Maybe you just didn't wait enough.

You're right. When intalling a new ROM, the first boot is longer because the new one is building a new Dalvik cache and so on... depending of the release.
Be patient a bit more, then report ...

if you can get into your phone into hboot/recovery/fastboot then your phone is not a brick!
the problems with white htc screen is called a bootloop. like the user above suggested use a full wipe. easiest way is connect phone to PC and go into fastboot from your options when in the bootloader
type in fastboot erase system -w this will erase all system and userdata
then disconnect phone from PC when that is complete and navigate to your recovery option. select the recovery option and then mount back to USB cable and select USB toggle option so you can data transfer to SD card.
put new rom you wish to use or redownload one you wanted. then try again
It's actually a splash loop, a boot loop is the boot animation. But you get the idea

the only option i get when i get into fastboot from the phone is bootloader, reboot, reboot bootloader and power down. if i chose any of the above then they all go back Hboot menu. cannot get into menu to type in fastboot erase sytem -w. can u advise me on where is the menu?. or i'm i doing something wrong..
thanks.

I don't understand where u was waiting.
Can you describe what was happening?
Are you able to access the bootloader??
1. Pull out battery
2. Put in battery
3. Hold power + Volume Down buttons until inside bootloader UI
4. Use volume keys to navigate to the "Recovery" option then press the power key.
5. Once recovery has booted, use volume keys to navigate to the "Factory reset & wipe data" option, then press power key.
6. Reboot.
Results?
Had the same problem in the past.
I downloaded an RUU and managed to get my phone to boot normally.
Take a look on this:

Got part with fastboot but where am I supposed to write -w? I'm not that good in this that is why I ask here for help. But thanx anyway. And I tried wipe everything using recovery and when I wipe system writes error all the time.
I also tried all the above method but to no avail. Then a friend of mine bought the dhd so i made a goldcard from his phone loaded a pd98img.zip and flashed.. my dhd is back in action... i think this is your only solution, find somebody with the same phone. If u cant let me no i'll send you a gold card.
If it could help me than upload it somewhere And tell me how to use it. I heard about it but not sure.
You can remove your sd card then you will be able to choose the recovery option instead of it constantly going to hboot. The hboot looks for a file and asks you to instal or not install and then tells you to power of. Remove you sd card and you wont get this option so you can go into recovery and reflash a rom (you can re insert your sd card once in recovery and chose the mount option)

My wife bought a G1 dev phone off of Craigslist not realizing what that meant. She just thought it meant it was unlocked. Now she is bummed that she cannot buy any of the cool apps from the store and a few other things.
How do I get the Dev Phone Firmware flashed to the normal RC33 or whatever it is? On a scale of 1 to 10 for tech savy I would ge myself a 5. So I don't know how to do much.
I did a search and tried adding the "DREAIMG.nbh" RC29 file to the SD card but all that did was bring up a while screen with green skateboarding androids.
you also need to flash the original spl. its in the first post on this forum

You can update it to JF ADP1.5....on that one you can buy apps....http://jf.andblogs.net/2009/05/01/when-is-your-15-coming-out/
Thanks, I appreciate that. I didn't understand everything in that thread though.
0. This is only verified to work for DREA100 and DREA110 devices. If you have a US or EU G1, it is most likely compatible. To check, boot into the SPL and confirm that the first word is DREA100 or DREA110. Please do not attempt to flash a SPL onto a Dream that does not fit that description!
How do you boot into SPL?
1. If you are installing onto a G1, your G1 must have a modified recovery partition. If you have one of JesusFreke's Android builds installed, then you have a modified recovery partition.
What does all that mean?
2. Download the desired SPL zip file (attached below), rename it to update.zip and copy it to the root of your sdcard. As usual, remember to use a USB cable with a ferrite core and dismount your USB drive before disconnecting.
How do you know if your USB cable has a ferrite core?
3. Reboot the phone into recovery console and flash the update with Alt+S.
What is the recovery console? How do I reboot into it?
if you are trying to go back to the stock firmware you need to flash the original spl first by adding that to the sdcard root as an update.zip. Boot using the home+power and then wipe and alt+s. then attach the usb, mount, delete the update.zip(spl) and add the dreaimg.nbh file to the root of your sdcard. unmount and reboot by pressing camera+power. it should recognize the file and follow prompts. lastly once it is done press the trackball to reboot. viola! stock once again.

Thanks for everyone's help. Do we have to have a ferrite cord or can we try it with a normal one?
And where is the SD card root?
The root of your SD card is what you see when you open it up in windows explorer.
the root of the sd card is /sd/file not /sd/foldername/file
Needs to be on the root of sd meaning not in a folder.

the root of your sd card means not in any folders. it's the same place you put the dreaimg.nbh file. e:/dreaimg.nbh(windows) not e:/dcim/dreaimg.nbh...or anything else. If you are using the original usb that came with the phone, no need to worry. if you are not sure, try and see if it works.
OK, I am following your instructions and I am to the part where I press home/back to reboot. Each time I do it just brings me back to the "Android System Recovery" Mode

i never said home+back to reboot. you have to be more specific about where you are at
double check with this to make sure you are following correctly. http://tinyurl.com/r6adqm
i don't think i'm off but it's Saturday!! i'm allowed a little mistake at least.
1) flash the original spl first by adding that to the sdcard root as an update.zip.
2) Boot using the home+power
3) then wipe
4) alt+s
(This is where I get stuck, how do I get out of this and back to the normal mode)
5) then attach the usb
6) mount
7) delete the update.zip(spl) and add the dreaimg.nbh file to the root of your sdcard
8) unmount and reboot by pressing camera+power. it should recognize the file and follow prompts.
9) lastly once it is done press the trackball to reboot. viola! stock once again.

if the spl has updated successfully, then try the call+menu+power (three fingered salute) way to reboot. if that hasn't worked, and if you are NOT in any update processes. pull the battery( i had to do this once ) ONLY IF YOU ARE NOT IN THE MIDDLE OF ANY UPDATES.

I did the update.zip with the original G1 file renamed "update.zip" and it said it was succesful, then when I rebooted it takes me right back to the screen that says "Setting Up Your Dev Phone". When I start up the phone it is still running the Dev version
Good, the last step you did with update.zip simply got the SPL back to the factory G1/T-Mobile SPL
Next: Did you then put the RC29 DREAMIMG.nbh on the phone?
follow steps 1-6 here under preparing to root:

After you have loaded the original spl as an update.zip you are still where you were. You have to then reboot into the bootloader (camera+power) and apply the dreaimg.nbh file. Do not rename that file. the bootloader should recognize it. If you successfully flash the spl, reboot, mount, add the dreaimg.nbh, turn off, reboot by using camera+power. you should see a multi-colored screen( not the android skating ) then follow the prompts, and eventually press the trackball and it should reboot to the state you are looking for. if not... something was not done correctly. I dont know what to do with the phone now...been reading a lot but it seems i get more confused..tnks really appreciate it
You must have the adb and fastboot binaries for this to work. There are several threads on xda to get those to work. Once you have that working, go to the clockwork recovery thread and download clockworkmod recovery 2.5.x.x. Then copy that to your /AndroidSDK/tools folder. Boot your phone into HBOOT mode. Select Fastboot. Plug your phone into your computer. Let it load the drivers. Open up a command window (DOS) by pressing the window button + R and typing cmd and press run. Change the directory to your /AndroidSDK/tools folder (cd /AndroidSDK/tools). Then type:
fastboot devices
It should return your phone's serial number. Then type:
fastboot flash recovery
DO NOT HIT ENTER YET! Put a space after recovery, then drag and drop the recovery file from your tools folder onto the command screen window. Now press enter.
It should say sending recovery....Okay. Then writing recovery.....Okay.
After that select bootloader from the fastboot screen. Then once it changes to HBOOT mode, just select recovery and it'll boot you into clockworkmod recovery where you can flash any rom you need to.
ok Im gonna try this step by step...hopefully I my phone aint bricked.. tnks so much!
Don't worry, your phone is far from bricked! As long as HBOOT mode is available to you you're fine! I'll try to find the link to the original ROM so that way you can just flash that through HBOOT if this process doesn't work. This process will allow you to keep your engineering bootloader (0.85.2007). Flashing the original ROM will make you have to go back through the rooting process. I really hope you get this to work! Good Luck! And by all means you can PM me with any questions you have. That way I can get back you faster. If you include your email, I can respond right away.
EDIT: Here is the link to the Stock 2.2.1 update. This will undo root. So use that as a last resort. But it will definitely work!

Just to let you know, you'll only be able to flash Gingerbread ROMs with ClockworkMod 3.0.x.x. You have to use CWM 2.5.x.x to use Froyo ROMs. Just wanted to make sure you knew that, so you don't get into another "brick" kind of situation.

I do believe you are correct...it so happened that i have tried loading Clockworkmod
2.x.x.x and 3.0.0.5 and the only thing that passed through the logo and showed the menu is 3.0.0.0...
I also made a mistake in placing the PD15img.zip file on my SDCARD as "PD15img.zip.zip" because the extensions are already associated and it its these small things that one has to be really careful about the certainty of the process step by step.
Anyways as soon as I corrected the file name...my HBOOT loader automatically did the job..but I am back to square one...but this time IM gonna use the older clockwork MOD to install Froyo roms...which my main problem in the first place was losing my WPA_supplicant file..in which I lost the WIFI connection capabilities of the phone..in which it made it difficult for me to access key files to reflash and boot the phone again as a default factory phone...
i installed the muimod 3.4.1. i intalled that rom like every other i installed.
I saved my pics. and music via usb in the recoverymode. I also formated all the stuff that i can via the recoverymode( format boot.... )i always did it like that and e never had a problem like that..
so after installing the rom i shut it down then i restarted the phone the nexus one logo showed up for like a half of a sec. then i entered in the same mode where you have to navigate with vol up and vol down power to select not the recoverymod.I pressed bootloader->recoverymod the logo of nexus one comes up like for a half of a secound and it wents back to the screen where i can chose the recoverymode.
so can somebody help me and tell me how i can get a new rom installed.
i really would appreciat your help
-Mäx

Till then anyone else can help , will be appreciated.
Can you do
Fastboot flash recovery (name).img
Then fastboot flash boot (boot).img
And then access recovery? If you are in recovery img pretty sure you can use adb. Just a suggestion.
Whatever is in your boot partition (recovery in your case) will be booted when you turn the phone on. This is why you see recovery.
Edit: you cant get into bootloader *at all?* no fastboot then?

Hi RAZOR, I read your story and it looks like it's not ALL big problems there. I'm willing to help you with that, if you want send me a PM and we talk with GTalk (give you it there), but let's see...
I would plug my cellphone on the PC (hope it works like my Xoom, as they are very similar in some points - Xoom is GED, N4 is Nexus...)
(You said it is booting on recovery), now I would use adb to continue easily...
If you are on Windows:
1 - Open a cmd
2 - cd to adb place
3 - now type adb reboot bootloader, then it would go to fast boot
Now you flash the images you downloaded
On Linux
1 - Open Terminal
2 - Download LAIOT (my tool on signature ) (only to get adb and fast boot ready for use)
3 - Now open terminal and type adb reboot bootloader, then flash the images you downloaded with fastboot
If nothing this work, send me a PM and we'll talk

Can you do
Fastboot flash recovery (name).img
Then fastboot flash boot (boot).img
And then access recovery? If you are in recovery img pretty sure you can use adb. Just a suggestion.
Whatever is in your boot partition (recovery in your case) will be booted when you turn the phone on. This is why you see recovery.

I had a field day this morning with my phone also when trying to flash the stock image back. Finally got it working. The only similarity we had is that I could not mount my data or sdcard either after flashing the stock image.
However, I WAS able to get into fastboot. Should you be able to get into fastboot then RE-LOCK and UN-LOCK your bootloader and everything should work again (fixed my data and sdcard mount issue). I was then able to boot into Android and carry on.
Fastboot oem lock
fastboot oem unluck
Or use the Toolkit.
My only other suggestion would be to take off the back case and try pull the battery (haven't seen it done and not even 100% sure it can be). Maybe the battery just needs a time-out from the phone.
Hope that's some useful information for you.
Good luck.
Well hooking in charger for 6+ hours.. nothing worked...
I think it got screwed

This all still sounds very strange. Wish we could help you get it working but it doesn't look like any of the suggestions have helped. To bad you don't live in the same area as me I'd offer to try and help more.
If you're within the 15 day period perhaps Google can RMA the phone...

red led bootloop unbrick procedure
1. plug phone into USB cable connected to computer
2. wait for it to go into charge animation
3. unplug, then press power button to boot, immediately press vol up + vol down.
4. hopefully you booted into bootloader mode (rinse and repeat steps 1~4 if you can't get to this point)
5. chose recovery (if your recovery is corrupted, repeat steps 1~4 and do fastboot flash recovery cwmxxx.img)
6. from recovery choose restart system
if you can't get to step 2, because N4 has a bug with battery capacity, plug your phone into AC charge and let it charge for a few mins. then restart from step 1...

Hey guys
i just wiped all my data and tried to reboot my nexus, but now it's been stuck on the google logo for ages...
trying to flash to stock + unroot with nexus toolkit doesn't work, any way to unbrick it?
please help...
do you have fastboot driver installed?
Step 1: Power down your Nexus 4 (hold the power button until it shuts off) before rebooting into fastboot mode. You can do this by holding down the the Volume Down and Power buttons simultaneously.
Step 2: Connect your device to your computer. Open up a terminal or command prompt, and navigate to the folder containing the fastboot program.
Step 3: Type fastboot devices into the command line, and you should then see your device’s ID, which means fastboot is setup correctly.
now go back to Nexus 4 toolkit. Flash back to stock.

Thanks simms, i managed to get into fast boot between the reboots, and I flashed the rom and gapps.
Damn it scared me even more then the red light issue that happened to me last month.

not booting after flashing something or modding something is the easiest of all to fix, just reflash the rom(gapps and kernel too if need be), no need to wipe anything. since i test all the trinity kernels before any get released, and pre-kernels, i get many that dont boot my device or bootloop(among some other funky behaviors), reflashing a good kernel always works
I left my phone for a few minutes, and when I picked it up it was bootlooped again, and i had to use fastboot again. What should I do now? Maybe a factory reset would help me. I don't want more unexpected bootloops. :/
swyped from my nexus 4

Try another rom. You might have downloaded corrupted zips. Also, make sure you flash the things you need first. Eg, flash rom and gapps. Don't restore anything if you're using titanium backup. Try restarting the phone, see if it gets into a bootloop. If it doesn't, then try restoring apps from TB. (if you use TB.)
Hi!
I´ve got a big problem. Today i flashed the new PA version, but it seems that the download had some issue. I could install it but after a while, I wanted to reboot the phone and it got stuck at the Google logo. I can only access fastboot mode and recovery.
So the problem is, i made a full wipe, so i have no rom on the sdcard anymore. Also I am now able to enable the debbuging mode. I tried every toolkit i couzld find, but everyone needs debugging mode enabled. windows doesnt recognize the phone ( it says unkown device). So i tried to install the adb drivers, but nothing happens.
i wanted to try to push a rom with adb on the phone but it says no device found. i am such a noob, i hope some can help me.
thx
