So I dropped my phone today and now the screen is flickering. the screen is smooth and you cannot feel cracks so the glass itself is fine. There are cracks underneath the glass so I'm assuming it's the display. Can anyone direct me to replacement parts?
Thanks

If you don't want new, search on Amazon for S4 LCD. I just bought the black one above for a few dollars more. Its brand new, and you wont regret buying new. Of course there are used ones on ebay, I guess it depends on the quality and reliability of the seller, but i can vouch for the black one i bought on amazon.

So heres what happened I've had this phone since it first came out and its been kept in perfect condition. I just got a new job and left it in my pocket one day and got some dirt in there apparently. Needless to say i now have about 20 small scratches on my phone. And the reason i didnt have a screen protector on it is cause i bought a zagg one and put it on and found out that water and phones dont mix. The phones touchscreen was completely broken so I just took it to best buy and they gave me a new phone. I know i could buy a new digitizer for like 50 dollars but the scratches arnt noticeable when the screen is lit, just knowing that they are there is enough to bug me
i got 3 or 4 little ones within 2 weeks of owning the phone. similar to yours in that they could only be seen at certain angles and/or lighting situations.
I put a screen protector on to make sure to not get anymore, and it actually helped to make the other little scratches pretty much disappear.
hope that helps.
Yeah i ran to the sprint store after work today and picked up a screen protector... except i didnt realize that the protectors only cover the lcd part and not the rest of the touchscreen. It does minimize the visibly of the scratches but it just bugs me. ill just have to sell it for less when the evo 3d comes out due to the scratches.
Those Sprint branded screen protectors are terrible...truly worse than the "universal" type.
I'd check out another one of the custom-cut InvisibleShield ZAGG types. They have the textured, soft and pliable surface that may allow it to settle into the cracks and cover them up.
I'm not sure what you did when you put your first one on to make you say "Water and phones don't mix", but it sounds like you may have gone a bit crazy with the spray bottle?

i used the ones from radio shack they work great
but to fix scratches if they are small you can get the scratch spray for eye glasses for a few dollars and use it with a cleaning cloththen apply the screen protector
Hey warstroke, do you have a specific glass scratch remover you can recommend. Cause after hours of searching on google i found displex for touch screen phones but i cant tell if its for plastic or glass. Thanks in advance for the help
Edit... So it looks like its gonna be a huge pain to fix the scratches, so im just gonna wait till my summer job is over and then buy a new digitizer and replace the whole screen. There only like 30 dollars on ebay. Apparently sand is the mortal enemy of cell phone screens.
Try out buying Otterbox's new Evo Shift case. Its great protection and comes with a screen protecter. Its $34 but definitely worth buying for the quality. You can find this on Otterbox's site.
Of course I found this after a shattered my Evo Shift. Now I have to deal with a refurbished one.
I dropped my phone and the screen is cracked. Touch and display are fine, it looks like just the glass is damaged.
I have tried to find out about repair but everyone I ask is struggling to get hold of the lcd + digitizer for the white gs2.
Anyone have any advice, or where to get hold of a white screen?

the white gs2's screen is the same as the black one

No, the bezel and screen and digitizer comes as one. So you have to specifically buy the white screen for the white gs2.
Anyone have any experience with mobilephonedoctor.co.uk?
They are offering to replace the screen for £129.99 !!

FYI, went to official Samsung service centre (Phoneland High Wycombe) and they charged me £120 for parts and fitting. Also, their fitting maintains your warranty...
get past

Hey everone. I bought a Galaxy s4 recently about two weeks ago. I love this phone alot and had not bought a screen protector or a cover yet (boy was that a mistake). One day will walking my dog, I was talking to a friend. The phone was on my ear. Suddenly, my dog jerked really hard and the phone fell out of my hand. The glass is cracked, well more like shattered. Im not very good with phones and would like to ask if it is Cracked Glass or Cracked LCD ? The phone turns on and works perfectly like the first day I bought it. The touchscreen also works on top of the cracked glass. I have seen some LCD's on Ebay for around $200 which I cant afford. But when I searched " Samsung Galaxy s4 Glass " I came up with some results that were far cheaper. So does anyone know what it is ? Cracked Glass or Cracked LCD ? And if it is cracked glass or lcd, where can I find a replacement for cheap (I live in the U.S.). Thank you all.

From my understanding the amoled display and glass are glued together as a unit, if either one is cracked you must replace the whole screen
Yep unfortunately you must get the whole front panel replaced.

Does anyone know if it's possible to buy just the glass for screen? I have a small crack in bottom right corner and a sliver of glass fell out so I can see inside the phone. The LCD digitizer is fully intact no issue. Only thing I can find is full screen replacement with digitizer and all.
I'd like to know as well. I checked one repair shop (Ubreakifix) they stated they have successfully performed the screen replacement once but it was very difficult and cost more than the 200 out of warranty replacement essential offers.
I would personally not bother and just go with the $200 out of warranty replacement that Essential charges

I see some sellers on ebay, selling only the Glass Lens screen. I am ordering one today for my cracked screen which still responses well. The glass lens is for ~10dollars vs the whole lcd replacement kit for 60bucks.
Let know if anyone has had success with replacement the glass lens only.

How did your install go? I'm thinking about going the same route but I'm concerned it'll just be a big hassle and waste of time.

Not that I know of, a Fix It Fast repair shop said they can't replace just the glass and have to do the full screen.
I paid $70 for a screen online and they charged $30 for labor so I paid $100 in all to have mine fixed(Only took 45 mins).
I broke my screen and not living in the US meant essential wanted nothing to do with me. If you don't mind buying from Aliexpress there are loads of sellers selling replacement screens. Despite what iFixit say, it was really easy. I just used a heat gun and a suction cup and lifted from the top of the phone first as the ribbon cable is at the bottom. After that there just 2 small screw that hold the cable in.
Only real caveat I have for the DIY route is none of the screens I've seen ship with adhesive to fit them. I just used the narrowest 3M double sided tape for screens I could get and still had to trim it down.
The glass, digitizer and screen are pretty much bonded together as one thing I would really not recommend attempting that even if you find somewhere just selling the glass.
I started using the Whitestone Dome on my Galaxy S8 and loved it. So, I use it with my S9+. However it seems like the strength is weaker than the previous version because it seems to crack all the time. I am constantly replacing it. I am curious if anyone is experiencing this?
All the time is a lot of money! Mine developed spider cracking top right corner

Have you thought about trying a rhino shield glass screen protector? They aren't without compromise but I've been really impressed with mine.

Is is full screen adhesive, really sticky and does take some work to get all the air bubbles out. It does have a black border which does infringe on the corners of the actual display slightly. It is case friendly so is cut a bit short around the edges. I do however find it a perfect combination with a spigen rugged armour case. It comes with an alignment frame so is easy to get right when putting it on, it is however expensive at £25 but is still significantly cheaper than the whitestone. The oleophobic coating on it is brilliant, however to soon to comment on longevity as only be using it 2 months. I am happy with the compromises of this screen protector as I hate the thought of covering a very expensive phone with loca glue.
Sorry for the partial thread hijack OP!
I've broken two so far, both from dropping the phone... The second break is just on the edge so I haven't bothered to replace it yet. I have the Aliexpress replacement sitting at home, it was $16 for two screens, I figure I'll give it a try, if it doesn't work I'll send my broken Whitestone back and get it replaced again.

if you have registered the product at their site I think if you broke it they send you a replacement for free...you just pay the shipping costs:good:
Does it cause you press the screen stornger or it's smooth as glass protector in non-edge screens?
