hy, islamona is an application installed by default by your stock carrier rom
you can remove it but you will need root acces http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292615
titanium backup will do the trick:good:

Sorry for necromancing the thread, but I have the same aplication, that I can uninstall, but everytime I do a full wipe it reinstalls again, even with a custom ROM. I now have Prism Barebone rom, so I have root access, how can I manually remove it? I've searched and can't seem to find the installer.

Ack! Rom Manager killed my root!

I rooted with z4 a few months ago. Today I got the bright idea to install Rom Manager to play around with. I clicked clockworkmod recovery without really thinking (or knowing what it does). Now Titanium Backup doesn't work because it says I'm not rooted.
I uninstalled Rom Manager but that didn't help. I tried rerooting with z4 but it only crashes.
What did I do and how do I undo it?
HELP.......

Please try this in order
1st. You can run a restore if you have clockwork recovery
2nd. Use alternative SU if you just need to restore file
3rd. Worst come to worst, backup your data and install ROTO rom / Clock Work Rom..
Thanks. I'll give it a try tonight.
1. So, if I reinstall Rom Manager I should be able to do a restore?
Is there a good ROM that works with Rom Manager that I could install that would give me back root and also a new ROM?

That really depends on what version Tab you have.
Currently for GSM devices, Overcome seems to be the ROM of choice, and I do not believe Alter has it able to update via Rom Manager.
I can't speak for CDMA devices, I don't own one.

Ok, I'm running Verizon CDMA.
I coudn't root with z4root(it kept crashing), but oneclickroot (free on the market) worked like a charm.

I reinstalled ROM manager but there's no way to "undo" whatever the heck I did.
Is there a way to go back to stock?
I'm not sure why but the whole system is really slow now...
I just want to get back to stock (before ROM Manager and Clockwork). How do I do this?

You will need the original firmware + modem file etc and flashed it via heimdal and odin but that may be is last alternative you want to consider.
I am not sure if the default stock is able to reset, i have never try before but it should be able to.
Try this:
1. Switch off your tab
2. Open up your tab by pressing power and sound up
3. you should be able to see the recovery (i am not sure about this part for default stock)
4. there should be an option to do a factory reset (Make sure your current stock is default ROM)
Hope it helps.
Ok, I did what you said. Here's what I see:
Android System Recovery <3a>
Samsung Recovery Utils
- for BML -
reboot system now
apply sdcard: update.zip
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partition
I'm not sure what to do now. I don't really want to erase all my data......
I'd gladly install a new ROM instead of going to stock. I'm just in a limbo state now (clockworkmod, no root and really slow system) and I'm not confident that I know enough to do the flash).
Where are the instructions for stupid people?

Did it. Then performed a hard reset again by *2767*3855# (just to be ultra clean).
Looks clean uptill now. No FCs.
Now the steps I think should be performed are (in order):
1. Flash a custom kernel (SpeedMod for eg.)
2. Flash a custom ROM (SURFACE, for eg.)
3. Change the CSC to my country (maybe using Nitrality)
4. Apply a good looking theme (PaulGiddy for eg.)
5. Restore Apps by TitaniumBackup.
Now, the thing is, I've done it all before too. But, I dont know which step caused the problem.
Maybe I did all one-after-another without waiting for some time in between to let the things settle (maybe a week or so).
Pls advise what should I do now (I'm still ultra-n00b to flashing world).

If you want to flash surface rom, then just follow instructions in rom thread step-by-step and do everything what is said..many times fc's are caused by bad flash or theme which replaces some apks/files. So try your rom before flashing theme (as boot & few minutes waiting time before that is anyway advised..) and you will see if it's theme which is causing problems.
Also, restore only user apps with TB..

[Q][Root/cwm lost?]

Hi guys,
Recently I updated my i9505 to official 4.3 version XXUEMJ7...then i rooted it successfully, flashed philz cwm, it worked...i did a backup, then flashed a mod (lightning effect on lockscreen), turned on the phone. Suddenly my wifi won't work so I decided to do a restore from the backup that i made 10 minutes before that. While it was restoring i noticed that i didnt had enough storage so it skipped few things. When it was successfully restored, I turned my phone on and here are the problems:
When it has booted up i recieved so many errors and fc's like procedure system has stopped, com.google.process.gapps error and so on...
I taught ok, lets delete some HD games to gain space and restore it again. But now there was no cwm or any recovery. I can't use Google Play and every app that uses Google files (youtube, gmail, stock internet browser and even facebook)
I'm not sure if I lost root and/or cwm. My question is how to get it back? What do i need to flash over Odin? Download mode works.

Hello.
I have same problem. Nothing works. I think it's a protected bootloader that will rewrite every custom rom/recovery. I had rom for ~20 days, and was just doing my daily routine, rebooted and lost root and CWM. After this same symptoms occured.
I downloaded XXUEMJ7 prerooted now, and it was only rom that I could flash. Have no custom recovery by now and root works... But probably not for long. What's most important - wifi works. This is partial solution for using your phone while someone smarter will explain us what's going on.

Thank you. I'll try that.
EDIT: can you give me a link, and you flashed it via Odin?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2250824
In this thread, use "ctrl+f" and write "PDA: XXUEMJ7" There will be prerooted odin flashable link.
By the way, flashing this new knox bootloader with 4.3 was worst thing that I done do my phone. And I'm really pissed off on samsung. Hope some smart devs will solve this someday and we will be able to downgrade or bypass this.
Well, I still get those errors all the time... :crying:
I taught this would remove them, but unfotunately didn't..

[Q] "com.google.process.gapps message wont dissapear

Hi everyone! I recently decided to install the 4.4.2 rom on my Galaxy Note 3 N9005 and I didn't like it because it obviously was buggy as ,entioned in the thread. So I wanted to go back to my nandroid backup which I had made before installing the rom. It all went right in CWM and no errors, so I rebooted my phone and got stuck at the glowing samsung logo, so after many fixes and things I tried which didn't work I flashed a pre-rooted stock rom for it and it all went well. I managed to restore to my nandroid finally and then I unlock my phone to find a "com.google.process.gapps has been stopped" message which wont go away when I tap "OK". It just comes back and gives me one second untill it comes back again. I really need help since I need my phone for work, I have tried reinstalling all the gapps, wont work, I have tried reflashing the stock rom and restoring my nandroid again, I have tried deactivating "Downloads" in the app manager but that wont fix it either and finally I have tried clearing the "app data" for all my apps but again, no luck. If anyone would be able to help me I would appriciate it very much. Thanks in advance!
You're probably gonna have to go back to complete stock. Grab your stock image and flash via odin, boot it up and see if it gives you the error without installing custom recovery and your backup. That way you'll know where the error lays.

Forgot to mention but when I return to complete stock there isn't such a message, only when I restore to my nandroid. I also tried restoring from an older backup which I had made like 2 months ago and the same problem remains, "com.google" message is still there. Any suggestions or should I just start over?

Sounds like a dodgy backup or it somehow got corrupted, I'd start over to save any headaches for future reference -- It's a headache I know, but safer I think. You could hang five, see if anyone else chimes in with any other ideas though

A nandroid backup is simple but monolithic. Most people also use Titanium Backup for the ability to restore selective stuff, or to restore to a completely different model of phone.
I had same issue
Bith titanium and nandroid restore.
Well only way to save your self. Completing wizard of first startup with feeling google..
And just restore user apps and data with titanium except google stuff..
This is the only healthy restore method so far i know that gapss.com keeps kool

So I somehow managed to go to settings and disable Play Services with the one second time line that I had before the message appears again, and the message stopped. So it must be something with Play Services. Since i'm new to android (and the Note 3 is my first android phone) I want to ask if there is a way to maybe reinstall Plaay Services?

Hi, there! I just got almost the same issue like you. Once update to custom 4.4.2, any nandroid backups which worked right before getting GAPPS' FC constantly. :crying: Try double wipes, flash 4.3 gapps full package, stop&restart android download, uninstall google play store update, etc. nothing can fix it. Only way stop the popup error, is flash stock rom. But, consequently, lose root access, even with the same method that rooted the stock rom before. I'll heard some guy said the 4.4.2 has different partition from 4.3 or older android rom. But don't mention how to restore the old partition way. So, hope anyone can help us out, thanks a lot.
