Hey guys,
i made a little mistake and dont have a nandroid backup nor a rom on my phone.
so, i made a factory reset and let it boot up, i want to know how long the boot takes at the first time after a complete full factory reset? (stucking at the LG logo currently and the LED is fading from blue into green)
Because im not even able to sideload with twrp, im getting this:
* cannot read 'sideload' *
thanks
Usually 5 to 10 minutes

I'm inthe process of my first nandroid backup and so far its been 40 min. and still says "waiting for the bkup to complete and for your device to boot back up...". Now I have loaded three movies on the device for an upcoming trip along with some music (should have done the bkup prior) but is this taking too long all things considered or am I in a heap of doodoo. The nexus screen shows the TWRP screen with install, wipe etc. Thanks
Something is wrong, the longest a nanadroid backup has taken me on any device is about 5min, no matter what recovery I'm using. If your using twrp there should be a list of the process going on, if your nexus isn't showing any restart the process

It went through a series of processes for about five min. and the settled on thw window that says "Waiting for bkup and reboot". So should I pull the plug on the nexus and pray. It's been an hour and twenty now.
Are you using a toolkit to make the backup? Just do it directly from recovery, there is no need to have nexus attached to the computer when creating a nandroid. scrap the toolkit will make your life easier

Got OTA after clearing framwork services, decided to factory reset from settings/backup reset.
After it shut down it proceeded to boot, gets past the google logo and about 20 seconds into the "X" then the screen brightens briefly then it shuts down, was totally stock and locked.
Totally stumped as to why this has happened, and help/ideas would be greatly appreaciated.

AW: Stock Nexus 7 wont boot after 4.2.2 update & factory reset
Put it on the charger for some time, at least half an hour, then try to start again. Looks to me as if you battery is too low.

1 - unlock the bootloader
2 - flash stock 4.2.1 image from fastboot
3 - flash the ota zip
if doing so it doesn't work, you'll need someone more experienced than me to help you
Battery was at 70%+
Recovery showed no command
Left it on charge for about half hour, tried booting and it still didn't work then when I next picked it up it was showing the language selection screen. So go figure, its back up and running.

Why would you do a factory reset after flashing the OTA? Anyway, if all else fails, return to stock 4.2.1 and update through OTA again, or better yet sideload the update.

Try flashing stock rom again, then OTA via the system updates in the settings menu.
I rooted my optimus v using gingerbreak and then installed a rom after wiping all of the data and caches. I went to reboot after the install and it was rebooting for 20 minutes so I took out the battery and tried to install a different rom and once I installed it and went to reboot, the phone was frozen on the lg logo again. Now no buttons on my phone work and the only way to get a response on my phone is i see the lg symbol when I plug the phone to charge it. Please help!
This is the GT540 optimus forum. The optimus V is a different device so the people here won't be able to help you.

Your on the wrong forum.
If your on the LG Logo then you can fix your device since it is soft bricked (mine is hard bricked so it needs JTAG ).
I assume you can use KDZ but you have to make sure the phone modem is disabled in Devices and Printers or you will end up with a brick.
If you have recovery on it then you can fix the issue for sure.
Did you wipe the Dalvik Cache, Cache partition and data?

So I download flashily and boot into TRWP. I try to flash into cyanogenmod. It had the flashing screen for about an hour so I though it got stuck. I turned it off then back on and now I am stuck on the LG logo. Every time I turn it off it turns itself back on. How can I fix this? I made a backup does this help?
Can you get into TRWP?

Is there a certain button combination I'm supposed to hold down, because it's just stuck at the LG logo.
Powerand vol-. Let go at LG screen briefly. Power and vol- immediately and hold. How I do it, works every time. If you can't boot our repush recovery, time for stock hard flash.
You can't boot into one recovery from another. What are you trying to do?
Do what Steamer said and get into your Recovery - whichever one is already installed as default - you can only have one Recovery system loaded at a time. Once you're in Recovery, either restore your backup, or install a ROM that will boot. After its back to normal, THEN you can change recovery systems.
Hi!
I flashed my S4 with Odin, which came out as 'passed' (successful). But now, it stays on the flashing SAMSUNG screen. Is it supposed to take long for it to boot after flashing?
As I am typing this, it has been around 12 minutes.
Thanks =)

Usually I give a ROM max 5 mins to get past boot animation, if it don't than I redo my install and try again. Usual sequence - boot logo, boot animation, optimize apps, display dims, ROM starts.
