I'm planning to buy either a Samsung S View Cover or the Spigen Slim Armor View.
So my question is, will daydream function works with the cover on (s view function activated)? I've been depending my entire android life to Battery Widget Reborn app that shows charging percentage status everytime I plugged in a charger (with daydream function set to "while charging").

Hey guys, this is extremely bothering. I have an xqisit folio case that also doubles as a stand. Anyways, when I open the case, the screen lights up, and if I open it just ever so slightly, I notice there's this view mode that displays time and battery, the information that shows through the s view cover.
Anyways, I don't own a s view cover nor do I want one. I also don't want the screen to light up when I open the case because that means the screen's not completely off/phone's not completely resting and uses up more battery.
How the hell can I disable this? I've googled and found nothing and also gone through the settings but found nothing there as well.

well i suppose your folio case uses also the magnetic sensor used by the s-view cover to turn the screen on and off.
as this switch was primary implemented for the s-view cover its the default behaviour to show the s-view screen when you close your cover.
afaik there is no mod to change it right now but i hope this "s-view mode" will be customizable in future with the help of our fantastic community devs! :fingers-crossed:
anyway dont worry about the battery consumption too much as the s-view screen is only displayed for about 5 seconds and then the screen turns completely off.

Thanks a lot! Out of thanks for the moment so can't thank you.
I have S view cover.
When the screen is unlocked and you close the cover, it will show the time. If u open it a little, it will still show time. But if you open it till roughly more than 30 degrees, it will either show the lockscreen(for those with passcode/pin etc.) or homescreen(for those with no lock).
When screen is off and you close the cover, it will not show anything. Open the cover alittle, maybe around 20degrees, it will still not show anything.
I've recently noticed that the AOSP roms for the i9500 now include an automatic sleep on cover close feature.
Is there any way to turn that off? I want to use durka hallmonitor to manage the cover, since it displays the time in the S-View window.
I'm asking, how is LineageOS working with S-view cover today? Like with resurrection or anything similar. Because before, only reason I switched back to touchwiz was because I couldn't answer/hang up calls and control media through the S-view cover.
I just tried it.
It displays a clock and incomming calls on a blue background. It can show the charging status by changing the color. If you open the cover it wakes up the phone when you close the cover it locks the screen. There are some settings.
Everything works ootb.
Version: LineageOS 14.1-20170118-NIGHTLY-klte
hello,
i installed LOS 16 days ago, can i choose a picture for the smart cover? On stock i had a picture shown everytime i close my cover.
I only see a blue screen with clock right now
I have a problem with my Note 3 I wondered if anyone could help with I have been getting lag and all sorts of other issues and have narrowed it down to the phone constant Lu being polled that it has a flip cover installed open/closed constantly
I put Lineageos 14.1 on and found turning off flip screen completely atopa there being flickering and the small flip screen box being displayed but phone lags somewhat presumably due to the polling anyway.
I have cleaned contacts next to.battery and sometimes ohkme will boot with no issues with flip cover polling but lost often not
I can disable flip screen in 14.1 but it won't to.to sleep as it detects the flip screen polling as activity
Any ideas pleaee ?
Can I disable it completely at OS level ?
Or would shorting the connectors or something work ?
I'm not sure how the signal from the case to ohkme works ? Is it a simple high low bit or more complex ?
Many thanks for any help
Bought a led view cover for my note10+. It works fine, and in the editor the pattern has the same size like the note8.
When i plug in the charger the pattern is double the size, with a standing battery icon on top and the precentage beneath.
Does it need an update to use the other half of the led cover?
I'm not exactly clear on what you mean, but everything looks as expected to me. I didn't have an LED cover previously. I think I'd try uninstalling the app, then putting the phone in the case and letting it fetch the correct version.
The lower part is where you can swipe to perform an action like answer a call or dismiss an alarm
I think you will find Samsung has left this area reserved for the action button
