Thanks for suggesting it.

Damn! I once backuped original recovery via flashify but now going to flashify app or to its data on internal memory, I cannot find anything anymore! That most certainly happened when I changed roms between stocks and AOSPs...

How do you do it using flashify so someone here can get us a copy? thanks

If you are rooted but still on stock recovery, you go into flashify and go to backup/restore tab! From there you choose "backup current recovery".

I have a Flashify VS980 stock recovery image backup on my sdcard if you want to give it a shot. Obviously the old I don't take responsibility if something applies here. Lol. I've never tried to restore it. Let me know and I'll try to PM you a link to my box account so you can download it.

Yes that would be great. thanks and I'll try it. if anything I'll have to reinstall trwp

ok, flashed the stock recovery image you sent thru flashify. Seemed to work but when I try to go to recovery it shows LG then at the top seems to give options then screen goes black and nothing. I did hold the power button for 10 seconds till it vibrated and rebooted. Phone restarted then I decided to defrost the app that checks for OTA. Now I'm stuck on the recovery section with a black screen I think all because I forgot to temp unroot before I decided to try and take the OTA:crying: Doesnt seem like the flash worked correctly either so I guess I'm going completely back to stock and lose all my info unless someone has a workaround?
THanks

Please help i think i bricked my phone

Im wondering if someone can help me. I recently rooted my phone with odin and was adding a rom. I guess it didn't download completely or correctly when I tried to install it and said it fail. I accidentally rebooted my phone. I don't have a backup on my phone to restore it. I do have a backup on my computer but cant get it onto my phone. Now my phone gets stuck on the Samsung galaxy s4 screen, and will not boot the rest of the way. I can get to the download screen. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Easiest way is to download the full rom .tar file and flash with odin. pretty sure they are posted in the dev section.

I prefer TWRP, but i think you should just try it. Every has his own benefits and disadvantages.

The reason I ask is because I just came from my s4, and after the MF3 update debacle we were unable to use cwm. I am used to cwm, but I think I'll give twrp a try as long as it works!

Hi,
i came from the S2 and got the G2 since saturday. I read here and in a german forum that die CWM is a little bit buggy, so is used TWRP. It´s faster und got some more options.

Even though you are rooted, make sure you have the latest SuperSU and Busybox installed and working. I found that when I initially rooted my LG G2, all apps had root access by default and without prompting, which is a major security issue.
Cheers!

Can you explain to me exactly what you did? i downloaded the .img from here and flashed with flashify. It then told me to reboot now and it went to a black screen saying "Fastboot started" and did not move. I had to hold in the power button to reboot my device. What did you do that worked? I have the ATT G2.

Thats pretty much what I did, previously i had tried to flash a bunch of other img's but they were not loki-enabled. I just downloaded the same file as you and used flashify.
I opened flashify > clicked recovery image > used flashify explorer > located the recovery.img file > clicked yes to the prompt > then rebooted.....boom done.
I am using a VZW G2...it had the latest stock build....running CM 10.2 m1 now

I rooted my lg g2 just fine, installed flashify, then tried to install cm 11 with it (i did not flash a cwm or twrp personally) with cwm on flashify now it's stuck in a bootloop with the bricked android logo (android on its side with red triangle). This is my brother's phone, I messed up. Can his device be saved or should i just surrender my smartphone over to him. (this isn't behind his back he's right here). He just got this phone on monday. I shouldn't have even tried to root it. thank you

THe method works through the download mode, not recovery mode. So you should be able to save your phone. Just make sure you follow the steps carefully.

First rule of android, Always install a recovery then backup. The link he gave should fix you. Also do not use stuff like flashify. Use adb it is much safer. Especially since we have to have loki to flash stuff.
Thank you all so much for the help. I will follow that guide tomorrow after school. I was about to give up hope. I'll post updates
You should be fine. It's not that easy to brick this phone.

You'll be fine as long as you follow that post. I've used it several times (mainly just for fun and a fresh start) and it's never given me any issues going back to stock.
Should I use the method posted above our should I use this guide that was linked in the thread above ( I can't figure out how to paste the link on my moto x right now I'll do it when I can get to my computerized). The guide in referring to is in hyelton's op below the guide for the attached version
Use the link provided the second post of this thread. And make sure you download the correct rom/firmware for your device. And follow the instructions. You should be fine

[Q] Help Bricked LG G2 D801

My phone was great until I tried flashing the hellfire ROM. It told me that it couldnt flash bc it was D801 and not G2. Idk what it meant bc all other D801 ROMS flashed successfully. Anyway I tried to factory reset after that and it says it cant mount data or something like that. Now I only get the LG screen. When I try to go into download mode to flash the correct kdz file in flash tool to reset the entire thing back to stock it stays on the screen that says download mode and has the blue dots. And when I try to run the program through windows and the flash tool it tells me that the phone isn't connected to the PC. Can anybody please help me? Oh and I have TWRP recovery installed but all my backups are gone all of a sudden,.I can't do anything with this phone....!!! Thanks to anyone who can help.

Of you search up stock ROM for the lg g2 you should find something that has d801 stock firmware you would see d8010c or something like that find it and read up on it.

If your using windows make sure you run terminal from with ABD shell folder or it won't give you the ABD commnads.
Same problem
I have exactly the same problem please help!!!
someone help please, me too have the same issue please.
Just boot into twrp and select install zip from sideload. Connect the phone to pc. Go to your adb folder and type
adb sideload .zip*(for example:adb sideload update.zip)
Be patient, you got to wait until adb has copied your zip to the phone. Then the actual flashing will start. So leave the phone untouched for like 15minutes and wait till it's done.
This way you can flash the phone in a working state and then kdz again.
Don't forget to wipe all before flashing and factory reset afterwards.

D802 stuck in recovery in a weird way

Hi guys, I made a mess today. I decided to restore my stock LG software backup and everything went well. Then there were some LG updates and when they downloaded, I chose to install them. That took me to TWRP. I figured it needs the stock recovery to install the updates so I gave up on the updates and tried to reboot my device. It booted back to TWRP. I found it a bit weird, but I didn't care since I had a backup on the phone. I wiped data, cache, system and dalvik and restored the backup. Guess what, the phone would still only boot into recovery. I started freaking out so I wiped everything except internal again and flashed an AOSP based rom along with the gapps. Still wouldn't boot except recovery. Then I started to freak out even more and decided to wipe EVERYTHING, along with Internal storage. And here I am now, wiped every single thing on the device, stuck in recovery and can't connect my phone to the PC with usb. just a few minutes before I have to leave home. Any ideas on how to fix this? It was just some pointless LG update and it caused such a mess... ADB sideload won't work for me, I'm gonna attempt to find some drivers or something.
Anybody?

If you have twrp 2.6.3.4 you sideload rom but this may not help you.
You are going to have to go back to 100%stock.

In TWRP you have USB-OTG. If you have this cable you can install ROM from USB-flash)
I had the same issue. Only way to fix it was with the LG flashing tool. Make sure the usb port you are using on your computer is working and the cable isn't broken. I just followed the steps from this thread and it worked 100% for me.
