Hey guys,
I've just rooted my phone and now the KNOX status is at 0x1 so warranty is void. I don't care about warranty but I would still like to be able to get software updates for my phone. What is the solution? Will unrooting do the trick?
Thanks!

yes or download from www.sammobile.com
I dont think that unrooting ist enough. Your status will remain custom and so you won't get ota updates. But flashing with odin is still possible.

Flashing a rom with odin? Please be more specific.
Download the stock rom from sammobile site and flash it using ODIN, can't be more specific I think.
Maby try FLASH STOCK ROM USING ODIN in Google?
Respect!

Hello!
I have a S4 i9505. It's rooted and it runs a FoxHound rom 4.3 based.
Now that the new kitkat has officially come out, I would like to update to the official firmware using odin etc etc.
I looked up in download mode and I have 0x1 flag in KNOW WARRANTY VOID.
Now my question is: can I install from odin the official 4.3 firmware in this status? or will I get it unfunctional?
I don't know if this question is common or not, but, as I've seen a mess reguarding Knox troubles, I decided to ask directly.
Thanks a lot.
You can flash it without problems. If you have problems then flash modem + bootloader also

ahhhh my gosh I read again the message and I found out I wrote something stupid;
my question is can I install 4.4 with Odin ? is the problem on the eventual downgrade?
thanks a lot and sorry for that
Actually i read 4.4.2 so my post is based on that yes you can install 4.4.2 via odin. You may encounter wifi issues or lockscreen issues, then you have to flash the matching bootloader and modem

Hi guys,
So, I just got an S IV today, as a replacement for my beloved S III.
As I've been running CM11 for a long time on my S III, I'd like to keep it that way on my S IV.
However, I've been looking a bit in the forums, and as I got the official 4.4.2 on my S IV, I see that I might be running into some problems, due to Knox - Or will I?
As far as I've understood, I just have to be sure not to flash something that downgrades or installs another bootloader, correct?
If a kind person can clearify for me, that I just can go ahead and do an auto-root, flash a custom recovery and a custom CM11 build - Or what I should avoid, that would be perfect.
Thank you in advance
Your only problem will be that your warranty will be voided if you flash a custom recovery. Other than that there should be no big issues if you are using aosp roms.

Scumbag Sammy.. But I guess it's almost the same as the flash-counter on my SIII.
Anyway, then there's no chance of bricking and so on?
And if I choose to go back to official Sammy software, I will have to only upgrade, not downgrade?
Well there is always a minimal chance of bricking but if you read the instructions carefully then you will be fine.
Just search for a custom recovery and flash it via odin. Then install the rom you want.
You will not be able to downgrade but in my opinion KitKat is good

Yes it's the same flash counter ? Very difficult to brick as long as you follow guides ?
If you want to go back official you can use odin & correct there's no way to downgrade only stay same or upgrade when next version comes up ?
Hello guys, i recently bought Galaxy S4 i9505, and i updated it to stock 4.4.2 Kitkat. I read some threats about new KNOx security, witch wont allows us to flash rom's and re-flash stock to phones without voiding the warranty. So i wondered, is the flashing process is same as was before security update? Or i have to do something special? I want to root->install cwm->flash CM. Will i have problems with these things? I don't care about warranty.
No you will not have problems. if you dont care about warranty then you can ignore the knox stuff.

As long as you follow the instructions precisely, you won't.
But be careful with things of ODIN, you may wanna double and triple check things before you hit "start" button
hay' i have note n910f with stock rom but no samsung rom and now i want to change it to stock from samsung.
if i will burn via odin stock rom did my knox flag will change to 0x1?
sorry for my bad english and thank's to the helpars.
Yes, flashing anything via Odin will trip your KNOX flag to 0x1. If that was the question..
@quadlt
Your answer is wrong
Stock Rom means original ROM.
Did you have a original Note 4 with original Rom?
Did you flash anything before?
If you're device is untouched, you can flash ANY original Samsung ROM via Odin without triggering Knox to 0x1

Are you sure? I really Mbolblthlk say yes and others Slatham you know that I will run Knox from personal experience? Just do not feel like losing warranty on a new device, thanks for the help.

rom for SM-N910F
Hi
I just bought note 4 SM-N910F and i came unrooted with vision-x n4 ROM. The problem with rom is that the finger print does not work and there iss no data usage. When i boot(from the first time) on the upper of the screen there is written : Kernel is not seandroid enforcing
set warranty bit: kernel. Searching on the web this shows from the bloatware as there is a custom rom. I used sam moble to find the firmware but dont know which one i am going to download. Searching the APof the cureent firmware it corresponds to the t mobile variant (sammobile.com/firmwares/database/SM-N910T/TMB/) firmware. Can someone help me which i have to choose. Attached there is the the curent CSC.
Did anybody try to flash stock firmware? did it trip knox? I have seen different answers to this question so want to be sure. Another thing is the flash counter that will definitely change and that does void warranty if I'm not mistaken? thanks
Ok, I say this one and for all, I burned stock with Odin and it doesn't trip Knox flag on,it safe.

As you know, you cannot download OTAs when you rooted your device.
Is there any other way to install them? flashable zip for example?

Is it that easy? Will I keep settings and stuff? And can I download updates with Knox 0x1?
Afaik I will lose everything if I flash a firmware with Odin, and a flashable zip is not updatable, right?

For OTA updates to work, you need to have the stock recovery installed. So, using ODIN, install the stock recovery over, install the OTA, then reinstall TWRP and re-root should the update have removed it. Personally I can't be bothered and will wait for a rom than incorporates the released fixes. My phone is currently running fine.

That's probably what I will do, too. I used a so called devbase rom on my Note 4 which was amazing, hopefully someone will do something like that for S7 edge, too

Not true. OTAs are not possible with Knox tripped or the system partition changed in some way..
That's changed then, I've had OTA updates work in the past with root installed providing the stock recovery is present rather than TWRP or CWM. Either way I'll be waiting until a ROM incorporates the OTA changes.
Is possible with knox tripped unless it's new for s7 u can fake system status with an xposed module and stock recovery and receive OTA or Odin stock rom factory reset make sure system status says official and u can take OTA

Thats new. Never been a problem recieving OTA, even with knox tripped. As long as its stock firmware on it.

Do you mean that you can fake the device to think stock recovery is used?

No you can fake the device status to official to make it think the system is not modified but you need stock recovery to update OTA

How you you change the status to official from custom?
Hi
I can fake the status to official with xtouchwiz on my rooted phone
I can dowload the small OTA update (27 mb) from Settings>About>Manually dowload
I can see the update.zip file in caché with a file explorer
But I can't install the update using flashfire, It doesnt autodetect the OTA file and also can't find the file manually in the app
Always using stock recovery and cfautoroot
Need some help
Thanks!!
