Wave 723 CFW v.1.2........ - Bada Software Development

After getting good response to our Wave 723 CFW, we will continue to venture into wave 723 development as we are for wave 525
This will be followed for Samsung Star as well
This time I plan to recruit some new wave 723 devs and make this the best wave 723 firmwares
Some new features, as planned:
1 A new edited pattern lock
2 New UI
3 Possibly some RBM editing, with the help of Lusyo
4 New theme
and loads of more changes, which are yet to be decided

New section: BadaOS

I propose creating new section about Bada Operating system
So far is only one device: Samsung Wave [s8500] but next two will be avaible in november.
Samsung made 'Bada Cup', so we can also win 300,000 USD
I hope, that we create a lot of good aplications

Are there any developers out there that are already or plan to hack around with Bada OS?
I think that it should great idea, Few users are browsing this section of forum.
Adding it will take second and I think, that users want creating on this platform will be find. Software on bada is creating in C++ and is familiar to Android, also on Linux code. On page Samsung we can find SDK for developers.
Sorry for mistakes, but English isn't my basic english.
EDIT:
Samsung Wave is selling in 40 countries so soon will be more people interess this platform
My wave is coming tomorrow, but I'm already searching for customization. A new section dedicated to Bada OS would be great as I didn't find much information on the net about this new platform.
Android on wave
I have got my wave s8500. it will will be cool to install android 2.2 on it. Has any one found how to remove samsung bada os and install android on it ?
anyway its a cool phone.
So, here is some people, which want section dedicated BadaOS. Please make it, because this page is the best support for phones in the internet. Samsung wants create more smartphones with BadaOS, so here should appear more interesed people this platform. If we will support BadaOS, I'm sure more people will choose with this platform because now it is new platform, and people worry about support of this.
I hope we will consider positively my request.
Sorry for my English.

ya ya even i need a section for bada OS....its a high end platform for games and applications so it would be great to hack it .
I would give a thumbs up for this suggestion Btw, where to go to get a Bada developer? Need to hire one if you are going to enter the competition
my invitation to our agreement with a new section just for BADA OS ........ for my samsung gt-s8500 ....
Bada OS
I also support the idea of having an own section for bada .
Samsung S8500 for the way .
+1 Count me in.
I'm writing something about BadaOS and Mac OS X compatibility but decided not to continue. It's just not mac friendly.
Don't get me wrong, I love my Samsung Wave, speed and screen, for its price, its already a good phone.
I bought it knowing that it will not work with MAC, I just hoped that there was at least Google wireless sync. Good thing I can easily fire up boot camp and use Windows, but...
Samsung Kies, is not that easy to use. Took me hours to make it work under Windows 7. All drivers installed but won't connect to Kies. The only way to make Kies detect the Wave is format the sdcard, then I'm good to go in synchronizing my contacts. Needed to export my contacts from Google then to Kies then to Wave.
Haven't tried my calender entries as I leave that to my HTC Desire.
So to those planning to get the wave, its a great phone as I said, super AMOLED, 1GHz, 720p video recording, great camera app to name a few, but....
Don't expect that it will work with your mac (even windows) out of the box.
Sent from my HTC Desire using Tapatalk
So for now, we're not going to have a section for BadaOS or the Wave. Reasons:
1. There's only one device that supports it and we haven't heard from Samsung on whether there will be more
2. The development story is unknown
If either of the above changes, we'll certainly reconsider. We have to be selective when adding new devices to XDA because the site is already packed.

if only it wasnt so BADa
Samsung has announced two bada phone:
1.s5220 (wave 2)
2.s5330 (wave 2 pro)
both of them have bada and both coming in august so s8500 is not alone
And what do you mean by "The development story is unknown"?
Thanks
Hi
+1 for a Bada dedicated section.
Two more Bada phones should be out soon by Samsung and I think the root for development is in C++, which is more complicated than simple Java programing, but, from what I've red on it, really rock solid and fast.
I have to add that this forum is my n°1 source of information for my mobile and I'm waiting my Wave to arrive soon.
Have a good day
Bada
Sold my good old HD and have now a Samsung Wave.
Looking for themes, apps, android and other cooked ROMs.
Yes, a Bada Section would be great.
i have samsung wave and i hope it will be supported by xda
I would also like to see some development besides the Samsung appstore. Cause it's fun!

Skyd UX - Apps [New Pics] and ROM

Hello guys,
WP7Android apps for free here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21408342
So what's all about? !!
A innovative UI currently in development which will have 20 apps and a simple, elegant, fully customizable GUI. Available screenshots in second post.
Also a ROM[no Kang], which aims to become better then CM&MIUI and improve android overall. If you are a developer or a user who wants to help just PM me or Mr.Highway

Apps closed beta signup:https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/viewform?formkey=dHBnMjRaUEpRX3ZFUlZWWmxVOWxGUHc6MQ
What else can you expect from it?
All apps are planned to be the best on the market so you can expect a rich user experience with many features that will include competitor ones and original.
How many apps will the UI have?
About 20. Here is a list with most of them:
Code:
1)Dialer
2)SMS/MMS
3)Email
4)Calendar
5)People with IM and social
6)Calculator
7)Player
8)Gallery
9)Launcher
10)Browser

13)Weather
14)Clock
15)News
16)File/Task manager
17)Settings
18)Lockscreen
19)Theme Engine - Desktop App
How is everything organized?
I'm leading a multinational team of 9 developers. As for the project it has 4 stages:
1)All apps with basic features in one app
2)Adding advanced features
3) Integration between all apps
4) Implementing UI
When will this be released?
Something like end of April or middle of May for beta if things go well. And final release 2-3 weeks later.
When can we test?
Some will have the chance to test early in private beta testing. All others will have to wait for public beta.
Will this be free?
Free with ads. Estimated prices in third post.

Blog
So I've decided to keep the third post as a personal blog where I can share my thoughts about the project, your comments and what else come in my mind. So let's begin.
1)
In about a day my project got over 24 pages on Google. So many that I got bored counting . This looks really promising, never imagined this level of success. Also first page on XDA.
Managed to read a few and there are two things that were not quite right. One article said that I should change the name to metroid. I don't think so, that will mean M$ flame . Also another thing is the supposition that all team members are xda guys. Only one is(which wants no money or IR), the rest are paid devs. There is no chance that free time devs will finish this project in time. Hope I made clear some things.
Also this week meteo and new contacts will be finished. Next week IM with AIM,MSN,Yahoo,GTalk,Skype,Facebook and Jabber support will be finished. Tell me if you use others as well.
Edit: Thanks to the guy who emailed me to remind me of Facebook chat.
2)
So I thought more about the prices and there will be 2 options:
In app purchase for ads free with
Google - 2.50$
Paypal - 1.89$
Why is it cheaper with paypal?
Google fee is 30%(thievery) and it registers as payment and thus I have to pay taxes. Paypal fee is 0.33$+1% and it registers as donation. I will receive about the same amount in the end(a little less for G option)
So paypal is a better option for all of us, even if some of you hate PayPal. Hope the lower price will encourage you to use it.
Also there will be an update with pics and a video showing more of the UI most likely this weekend.
That's it for now. Stay tuned!!!
Awesome project!!! Keep it up!
Thank you!
Thanks for your efforts and hard work! This looks promising.
I will definitely be keeping my eye on this project.
Love your wp7 suite
Can't wait for win 8

I'd also love to be a betatester with my optimus 2x
Looks really great, hope you get this fast done .... really seems to be the future UI
If you guyz can make this fluid enough, it's gonna be epic.
Hey, ill test for you on my HTC Amaze.
Got a willing motorola Droid x2 here.
Sent from my X2
Sounds very interesting, will test on HTC Sensation
A very willing Galaxy S2 beta tester

[Q] Nexus 7 and multi window support

I was wondering if there are any apps or mods that give the Nexus 7 similar abilities as the Galaxy Note II and it's multi window function. I'm not concerned with having to root as I have already done so for USB access and some of my other apps. Thanks guys and gals.
Seems someone asks this every few weeks. Short answer- no, not possible at this time.
But since nobody comes to xda for the short answer.. here is the long one:
Once upon a time there was a great team of developers who wondered why they could not use a multi-window interface on android. They set out to make that a reality. CM saw the wonderful work they were doing and pledged to support it in their releases. Across the land there was peace and tranquility as developers happily set out coding their ROMs to take advantage of the new functionality. But the evil lord "G" (who totally promised not to be evil) was angered from the ancient land of android's origin and with his great omnipotent voice decreed that no subjects of his kingdom shall be allowed to use the new functionality. The CM developers and those from the cornerstone project were given no choice but to abandon the functionality that they had honed to near-perfection. Shortly after the decree was made by the evil lord, another royal empire "S" (who totally didn't steal that fruit company's designs) convinced the evil lord "G" that they could use the new functionality on specific applications that they themselves would create.
The royal empire "S" then created an entire framework similar to what the cornerstone project was working for, to support their custom applications. All of the functionality of the empire's functions is deeply embedded in the core of the "S" created roms.
Nobody that I know has been able to port the samsung stuff onto any device not made by them. Sorry, hope you enjoyed the story!
:silly:
good story
story
Can u please make that into an epic mmo.
Makes wanting TabletUI sort of pointless, doesn't it?
There are apps that work in window like floating browser, floating youtube, super video, air calc..etc.

[Library] Modern OpenGL ES (3.0 / 3.1 compute shaders) with Java for Android 5.0+

Hi folks,
Check out these Github repos I just posted this morning for modern OpenGL ES 3.0 / 3.1 demos and a lightweight framework that makes using this tech much easier from Java.
The main demo repo is here, but check out the install guide:
https://github.com/typhonrt/modern-java6-android-gldemos
Glad I could get my first open source (Apache2) effort up after all these years. There are few if any modern OpenGL ES 3.0 / 3.1 demos for Java with Android and this is important tech. I spent a good chunk of the last week pulling out code from my commercial middleware (TyphonRT) to make a lightweight and concise GL framework that makes working with modern GL much easier. I also provide a few demos with more forthcoming though this is a spare time effort. The nice thing is that the demo code is separated from the framework, so the framework can be used separately. Eventually I'll be porting the NVidia Gameworks demos to Java / Android. You do need a Tegra K1 based device to take advantage of OpenGL ES 3.1 as well Motorola and / or Qualcomm shipped deficient drivers that only supports 3.0 for the Snapdragon 805 / Adreno 420 on the Nexus 6 launch; talk about a disappointment there. This framework and repo is updated for the absolute latest Android Studio 1.0.1 and build tools "21.1.2". There is a reasonable guide on how to check the code out, but a prebuilt apk is also available. Lots more to say, but I'd be glad to answer any questions about modern OpenGL on Android. I'll be expanding the wiki on the repos linked here in the next week.
If you think the code above is useful or cool it's the basis for where I'm headed with building a next-gen video engine for Android. I have ~9 hours left on a crowd funding campaign that will help me get it out sooner than later having bootstrapped to 95% of the way there spending 2.5k hours over the last year building it covering all costs out of pocket ($80k) / not quite close to raising the funding goal, but I'm most interested in finding early users who are interested about next-gen video and having fun / cool toys before iMeh... I'll keep it short as there is a video available to check out of it in action. Also bumped into Robert Scoble a week or so ago and he gave me a couple of amazing endorsements:
"It's the first app that makes me excited about Android in a long time..." -- Robert Scoble
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gJ0kYC4sFo8
"This Android app makes me jealous. Video effects. Feels like a new age in video." -- Robert Scoble https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10152876836024655&set=v...
KS here: http://kck.st/1xA3R61 At this point I'd really just like to connect with interested early users as the funding goal is well... yeah... Thanks folks!
must try..thanks
Impressive !!!
Got damm
I just want to give a heads up that there is a Google web forum to discuss the modern GL demos and changes / updates to the repositories. Ask any questions there about OpenGL or the demos, so everyone can benefit from the discussion.
https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/modern-java6-android-gldemos
If you are interested in following the evolution of the repos and why changes are being made I'll try and discuss the reasons behind what I'm doing from the software architecture angle. The first day of code pushes got things out the door, but there will be at least one majorish refactor (shouldn't be too many breakages) in splitting apart the "glframework" repo... Check out my first post here though for more info on why:

[Announcement] Android N Developer Preview will be released today!

Preview images: Android N preview images will be available today for the Nexus 6, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, General Mobile 4G (Android One), Nexus Player, Nexus 9, and Pixel C.
Android Beta Program: Google is announcing a new Android Beta Program to make it easier to try new versions of Android on your development devices via OTA(http://g.co/androidbeta). (Update: This site is broken until later today, per Google.)
Multi-window: Android N finally adds support for split-screen multitasking ("multi-window"), which OK very cool, but! The new multi-window API also allows for picture-in-picture video, which I think is way more exciting. Persistent mini-YouTube window anywhere in the OS? Yes please. But it's not clear if that's for all devices or only Android TV - Google cites TV as an example.
Direct reply notifications: You know the handy direct reply features of Hangouts and Messenger in the notification bar? There's now a whole API so any app can add a standardized direct reply feature. This is potentially huge - we'll have to see how developers take advantage of it.
Bundled notification handling: Ever get tired of Gmail or Hangouts eventually just giving you an "X new notifications" or a bulk list of items when things stack up that you have to basically address by going into the app? Android N introduces bundled notifications - notifications that contain multiple items can be expanded to show all items in the list, allowing you to take actions on each item (for example, deleting 3 emails in a list of 10) individually, instead of having to act on them as a group or go into the app itself. Together with direct reply, Android's notification bar is about to get a hell of a lot more powerful.
Improved Doze mode: Google hasn't specified how exactly (yet), but Doze mode is getting even better at sipping power when your phone's display is turned off. Details on how much less power will be consumed on average weren't provided, as I'm guessing Google is still fine-tuning Doze's new improvements. Hopefully we'll know more when N leaves the preview stage.
Java 8: Android now supports Java 8 language features through the Jack compiler we detailed over a year ago.
$150 off Pixel C for developers: As a way to encourage developers to test out N on tablets, Google is offering $150 off the Pixel C for devs here.
A "final" N release will happen this summer: Hiroshi Lockheimer says Android N will be shipping in "final release" form to device makers "this summer." That means OTAs for existing devices could come any time between June 21st and September 21st - but I suspect we'll learn more about that at Google I/O. At least, hopefully.

g920i user here too... This is the last time i buy a samsung flagship device. Not one release. Meanwhile 920f users are complaining because their specific CSC hasn't been released even though they've had MM for ages lol.
Note 5 in Korea getting second round of updates.. A few SM-G920F have also started to get the second round of updates. Then SM-G920I getting the MM in Q3 2016.
I wonder if devs successfuly make working AOSP source from cyanogenmod, will they be able to easily port N preview to S6?
Holy molly. I think I just came up with the best theory on what N's name will be. Heard of Nerds? Nerds Candy. These candies are made by Nestle. What version of Android that has a Nestle name? KitKat. If you press a button in Kitkat, the highlight action is square. In Lollipop and Marshmallow, circle. Android N cannot be Nutella. It has no form. Nerds on the other hand is kind of circle. N still has the circle highlight action. Check the pictures below. Nerds candies and N's wallpaper. Coincidence? Just a crazy theory on my side. xD

This is an awesome theory mate! :good:
But I think Nerds candy is a bit big for OS name, or maybe not. They can drop candy and say "Android for NERDS"
oh thanks..this is i am waiting for .
