I am sure I am not the only one that would love to be able to read and dismiss sms/email.etc. through quick window. I would love some other tweaks that would make the window more functional. If this is already available, please point me in the right direction but I have searched and found nothing. Thanks!

I recently posted this on Mahmood's "tweaks and tricks" thread (after searching the Polaris forums unsuccessfully for an answer) but didn't receive any response. Does anyone know how to make this happen?
I recently saw a screenshot (somewhere around here) with "Cube" shown as the left Softkey (instead of the default "Calendar"). Does anyone know how I can program that Softkey to enable the cube? (It would be much easier than using the dreaded finger swipe).
I'm guessing it will mean a tweak to HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\112 (and probably HKLM\Software\OEM\TFLOSettings) but I'm not smart (or brave) enough to experiment.
Thanks.
Still looking for some help - Is this in the "too hard to do" pile or am I posting in the wrong forum?
I'd also be interested to know...
Or better yet, if it's possible to activate the cube by swiping top-down instead of the regular down-up (I'm using ContactPM and it's almost impossible to close the app without activating the cube!).
Thanks,
you can try advanced config app to change the soft keys...and all you need to know is what path enables the cube...im not at myh computer so you would have to search for advanced config....or i will post it when is get a chance...but it looks like the run app for the cube is
/windows/saplaywm.exe
and the command line parameters are
"/program files/sclpf/version 1-00.swf
hpe this helps...

First, thanks for trying to help.
Unfortunately I can't find saplaywm.exe (or anything close) on my TC (in \windows or anywhere else) and just typing it in as a new string value for Key 112 without really knowing where to point to it gets me an error message ("cannot be opened... not signed... components cannot be found...".
Should I be downloading it from somewhere?
OBTW, does the "808" in your name stand for your area code?
Hi, is there any program or tweak to add one or more new softkeys on the bottom bar besides the original left and right softkeys?
The new softkey can be associated with different shortcuts for quick program loading/menu display/convenient operations on different programs' interface, (not just today screen). So it will give users an easy DIY method to improve some programs' users interface.
Thanks!

I did have done the search work quit a long time before posting this thread.
Actually I know lots of ways to re-map the softkeys and hard buttons. I also found the solution to add new options in the softkeys' menu list.
But my question is to ADD one/more new SOFTKEY. I do appreciate if you can just confirm me that you do have seen any solution for my question. Then I will do the search work harder but hopefully .
Thank you for your reply.
I have no answer for your problem but I am using BatteryStatus that allow to configure icons in the bottom of the screen.

Actually I know SKMenu can do this job, in some way. I am seeking a simple solution/program, which is more flexible and powerful for the above-mentioned purpose.
a far as i know there is no way for that. but if you need so much buttons i would use one of the many launchers.
Wisbar Advance 3 can show one more Button, I think!
Hi, all, just received my phone today and i am very pleased with it indeed, apart from some really stupid annoying things that HTC should be shot for, but have found fixes for most of them here today.
1: One of them was no notification LED`s on messages ect, i found a cab to fix it, but nowhere in the menu do any options appear?
2: Also on the TABS scroller at the bottom of the HD2 your are given the option to rearange the order, great!, what what about the shotcuts menu with the big icons, do i have to place every programe in the exact order i want it, does not seem to be any option to move it them about.
3: While i am on the subject of icons, is there any way in this world to move the icons on wm 6.5, into your own order without upgrading to 6.51 with the honeycombe option?.
4: I also read somewhere that the data connection does not also disconnet after a email download, there is a reg fix, but is there a cab for this, as i dont like messing with the reg.
Anyway sorry to go on, but after fixing about 5 other things that bugged the daylights out of me, i`m almost close to having the best phone in the world, just a little more tweaking.
Thanks for your help .
No takers, will subscribe and wait
Hii guys,
I was wondering if it is possible to switch the possition of the shortcuts, or do you have to remove everything and add them back again?? I couldn't find it so quickly in any other thread.
Thanks in advance
The Solution is to be found in post 6 + instructions!! Thanks to Som03ne!!!

Here is a small app to re-order the Sense shortcuts.
Its GUI is very simple using existing controls/components, since I did not have too much time to put in it - resulting not much gui control modifications, meaning - Up - means up in the list -> down in the display.
Or to put it short - Clicking UP moves the element down, and clicking DOWN moves the element up.
On exit - you can select either to apply the changes, or drop the changes.
For changes to take effect - you should Power Off and Power On the device
(Or any other way to cause Sense to Exit and Re-Load)
I tried it on my device and it works.
Any comments - post in this thread, and Id check for them every now and then.

There is . . . but

You can do it with registry editor
HKLM\Software\HTC\Manila
There are keys marked with 0..9 (or 0..n)
each item is a shortcut on the home page.
Just change the numbers to the order you like.
If you want the 3rd element to be the first -
You should do the following:
rename "0" to "XXX"
rename "2" to "0"
rename "XXX" from the previous step to "2"
Enjoy.
OK thank you for the fast response, but is there no easier/faster way for this??
if not: then I'll do it with this
I have not found any

Maybe there is, but I tried to look for something easier,
and did not find anything.
(I believe it is possible to write a small app to do it,
but I dont know when I'd have the time to do it)
OK, well if you ever make something like that, send me a PM and I will post a link to your topic where you'll post the application, in my first post, so people who will search for this answer and come in this topic will find it.
Enjoy

This worked! Thanks. You just need to produce a Sense UI version. THis is especially useful if you have 16 links instead of the standard 9.
Wouldnt it be nice if you could reorder apps like on the iPhone? Not functionally necessary, but nice to look at nonetheless
Thanks again.
Hi.
I`m in the process of making a ROM especially for disabled / sight impaired people and am making good progress.
But two things I need to change are:
1) The location of the Talkback toggle (Instead of having it in Settings > Accessibility > Services) I want to put the slider toggle on the main settings screen above the Wifi toggle. I have found hacky ways of getting to the accessibility screen (using a settings shortcut and using home2shortcut to apply the shortcut) however, cyanogen have changed something in their code and making the same shortcut now does nothing, or rather it takes you to the accessibility screen, but you cannot go into talkback, you try and it just kicks you back to the accessibility screen
2) Remove the confirmation screen when you enable talkback.
I am familiar with the new gestures to suspend talkback temporarily, but I want to go one further than this and be able to switch it on or off at will, without confirmation.
I have looked into even making a SQlite script but this can only be used from CWM recovery apparently...
I just need to know what entries I need to tchange in the XML. I`m at ease with decompiling apks which I have done.
I would love to have this talkback toggle on the main setting screen, and it would be fantastic if I could remove the confirmation dialog from talkback itself.
Can anyone help?
Many thanks
wrong section. this goes in q&a. if it actually was something that you already developed, then it would go here.
Thank-you. Could A moderator please move this thread to Q and A please?
I thought as it is related to developing it may go here. Oh well...
Yes it is related to development as is the entire site, but the format is set, please read the Forum Rules on posting, Thank You Sir.
Anybody?
you should rather learn how to track code-links. theres acouple of very helpful tools like grep and godir. basically you start by searching for the same display text you see on your phone. you find that you have the variable name. you search for that one and it links into the layouts. you search for the layout id's and it links into the actualy code. you will run into these problems again and again, so better try to track it down on your own once and next time it happens you'll be fine.
