Anyone is having the same trouble ? is there any, patch ,any fix , or something to fix this sound? its really painful to hear anything and seems to damage the speaker...

I know this is a strange problem and people generally complain of the contrary, but even with the volume at the minimum I find the sound too loud when I'm in a conversation, anyone notice that ? Any fix ?
Running the Orange ROM.
try not removing the wax from your ears for a few days ahah
really, I don't have problems with that ...
Yes, I've noticed the same thing but haven't bothered to look for a solution.. yet
Hello
The N1 have issues with the speaker (very low and bad sound) and a buggy MT
(some times jerky, it thinks im pressing lower than where I actually press)
Ive heard that these symptoms disappear when runing CM or Desire roms.
Can anyone confirm?
I'm running CyanogenMOD and I can confirm the sound issue still sucks quite a lot. I understand a phone can't have a great speaker, but I think at least they should make them so that when you turn the volume up it doesn't sound like some kind of broken turner...
Last night I played a YouTube clip at full volume (Will It Blend - iPad). The speaker was loud and clear as it has always been for me.
Just this morning the speaker is suddenly much quieter -- volume is still the same. There seems to be no loss in sound quality, it's just a lot quieter. I noticed this when my ring was playing and while watching a few YouTube videos.
Is it possible I somehow damaged the rear speaker with the loud playback of blending metal? I tried flashing a ROM and it didn't help. Again there seems to be no loss in the fidelity of the speaker or its characteristics, just the overall volume level. It's very troublesome since at 100% now it's about the equivalent of 60% of what it was before.
Are there any registry settings I might want to check out to try to boost up the speaker, or just check if they somehow changed and made things quieter?
I am having the exact same issue .. flashed to a new ROM, then the volume is about half of what it usually is - no loss of fidelity, just pure volume.
Have done some searching but there are not a lot of answers, hoping someone with better skills than I can help out.

Figured it out.. it is actually the new ROM that caused the issue, silly me. Turns out the sounds were playing out of the earspeaker after I flashed to the new UniQ ROM. g.lewarne posted a .cab that resolves the issue.

lol - exactly what I was coming back to say.
Hi,
So I've done some searching on the boards and most sound issues with S4 seem to be the whole distortion situation, which was addressed in the latest update. I've seen the default_gain file but that's not available for the i9505 version is there an alternative file somewhere?
My sound quality is brilliant but for some reason my headphones are really quiet on the S4, I have to put the volume 80% sometimes 90% just to hear them loud enough to enjoy, but it's still too quiet for my taste. I don't wanna blow my ear drums but even at 90% the volume isn't even half of what it's meant to be.
When I plug the headphones into the computer, ipod, etc etc, they can go really loud and even at 50% volume is amazing... Not so much on my S4.
Does anyone have this issue? what can I do to solve this? I've tried the Adapt Sound feature and it helped a little but it's still shockingly low for what it's meant to be.
This happens everywhere, on Youtube, stock music player, PlayerPro, etc.
Device: i9505
Firmware: I9505XXUBMG4
Would appreciate any help on this
Cheers
EDIT: So after 4 hours of epic fail searching, I managed to sort this out.
If anyone has this problem, check out boterkaaseneieren's mod.

Hi guys
I've searched everywhere for a solution, but I couldn't find anything, so I researched by myself and found - a solution for the noisy microphone!
(And when I say noisy, I mean that sound when a jet is about to takeoff)
Some time ago I flashed a Kernel, which was appropiate for my ROM and Version and so on (4.4.4) and I've been quite satisfied with it. I don't use the phone function that often, but I noticed, that many people had problems to understand me (NO WONDER).
yada yada the I tried another Kernel and see! (hear!) finally some quality sound!
So I think, the problem that occurs on so many devices (Google gives 471000 results) a "broken kernel"
What do you guys think?
Is this just a coincidence? Or a solution?
This is the kernel I used
I hope I could help at least one person.
Interesting, I have on my M8 a distorted sound on the bottom speaker. I will try your solution and flash another kernel, and see if that will solve the issue. I will also try the kernel you tried.
I will keep you posted with the result.
If that doesn't help, you could balance the sound away from the bottom speaker, with Viper4Android , which will definetly work!

Didn't worked with the new kernel. It might be broken, a custom ROM did that, it has a way too loud default ringtone and blast away the bottom speaker. Now I am back on stock. I'll try Viper4Android but I think it will not work.
EDIT : Viper4Android didn't fixed the issue. The speaker seems to be broken and the only solution is to replace it.
Thank you ''custom ROM''
